To me, it clearly sounds more like "Ysera is coming back for a time to help raise her daughter to be the new aspect", and she's going back once she's ready, switching places with Malfurion again.
Personally, I'd rather it stay in the shadowlands. I don't like the idea that death means nothing. that some characters die and revive as if nothing.
If you expect anything to show up in the warcraft universe to make sense you are delusional. This is not FFXIV. Just take it as it comes, even it it makes no sense at all lmao.
Shadowlands is the cosmic fridge, you shove characters in there and then they can pop up whenever you need them without the constant plot hole of "X is around and he could stop Y, why don't they?"Ofc it is completely hamfisted narratively
thats a cheap way of solving that i mean what kind of deal is that everyone would have made that one of the should stay in the shadowlands permanently or its not really a sacrifice its more like a vacation i don't think you could call ardenweald a prison
I'm definitely curious about this storyline, it could be very interesting if done right.
You can’t just put Ysera on the loading screen of Dragonflight and not include her in the story both visually and theoretically.
Thats strictly just bad writing. Whats the point she sacrifice herself to rescue Malfurion and now Malfurion sacrifice himself to revive Ysera. Ugh.Death means nothing anymore in this game. Dont think of our player characters. But Yseras death was so tragic and meaningful and now they destroy the whole purpose of it. And even worse they say Malfurions death isnt forever either!Just pass the scepter for the green dragon leader to Merithra already. She just had 2 lines to speak in the heart chamber. Its so ridiculous. Even the picture above looks more like Merithra than Ysera. Please stop Danuser from ruining another female character for his weird fan fiction. I have enough after 3 xpacs Sylvanas without killing her off.Oh and I almost forgot: they already putted Malfurion aside for years from vanilla till cata, did nothing with him, not even in the bfa battle and now they put him on shelf again. Im so tired of the mightiest druid on Azeroth doing nothing. Bad writing all over again. Even when Metzen was still in charge.
Just my opinion and how I see it the writers have no idea what to do with the character and because they need to bring Ysera in, since they can't make room for new characters and give responsibility to Ysera's daughter to lead the dragonflights They did something similar in BFA, when Malfurion one of the most powerful beings on Azeroth is defeated by a flying hatchetand they do it with dozens of other characters that have incredible potential, that will never have space like Med'an, and they keep pushing characters that always come out alive like Thrall, Jaina, Baine and when they finally try, they do something like Tirion Looking back now, Legion was an incredible expansion for Lore, a lot of characters were given space
I don’t really buy the whole Persephone storyline thing. It just feels like they’re doubling down on their bad story direction after the backlash they got. So now, instead of just dealing with it, we have to deal with flip flopping Ysera and Malfurion? Yeah, because that’s better…..
So weird and uncomfortable to see Steve, or any Blizzard employee, reference Persephone. I doubt he understands the myth on any level. Probably has no idea it involves sexual violence and grief rather than romance and cool weather powers, and a rare example of Greece giving a damn about women. The woes of the mainstream sanitizing literature... Demeter became the goddess responsible for the seasons because she created the harvest, and when her daughter was abducted and assaulted she lost the will to maintain the crops in her mourning-- winter. When Persephone returned to her, her happiness rejuvenated her to her springtime duties. The seasons continue forevermore because the relationship with Hades was not consensual and never became as such. Persephone is associated with the changing of seasons, but she does not personally cause them.It was not about strange powers brought back from the underworld.
Yeah, time for Malfurion to take his rest. I mean the guy killed a whole two horde soldiers after 15 years of standing around, he must be so tuckered out.
But it would be better if he did die. Not because I dislike him, but it's kind of a meaningless sacrifice if he's just going on a sabbatical for a while. If it's that easy then why didn't she just let him die and bring him back later? Ysera's death was a monumental event and it shouldn't be undone so freely. Either leave her in the dream or let there be a real price to pay for her return. There's no weight to it otherwise. I'd be more interested to see Merithra growing into her role as the new aspect.
She doesn't need to come back. Just let dead characters stay dead and stop ruining their stories.
