I do hope they tie in some kind of reference to Frost DK's "Blades of the Fallen Prince" even if it's only a bit of a side comment for DK's who have completed the quest to acquire them.
It's probably being hidden for a cutscene or something but I wouldn't be surprised if it was an Easter egg.
We are now taking on super satan to keep all the universe safe from a plan that has been millennia in the works. I hope we get neat things out of this, but its likely just another tier, just another thematic cycle of armor weapons. No actual frostmourne or some other high lore uber unique item.

What if defile is cast by Arthas? there is a lot of things we don't know about the encounter and the secret around it may be indicative of some "surprises" to come

If we dont see Arthas in this expansion, I bet he was suppose to be filling Anduins role right now, but they decided to put Anduin in there instead to not risk disappointing Arthas fans

My guess: It's there because there are abilities tied to it from the OG lich king raid and this was the easiest way to call it for those abilities. So there would be a callout during the raid fight with Anduin for "Shalamourne Hungers" and the code would reach out to that item standing there to get it.

I cant be happy when Warcraft 3 plot threads have ended in Legion when Sargeras plunged Gorshalach in Azeroth. The big baddie Warcraft 3 started. We defeated it. In their 9.2 announcement they said a bunch of bull%^&* and now I am supposed to feel hype for possibly seeing Frostmourne in some capacity?I am a fan of what is broken, should stay broken. What is dead, should stay dead. I feel like the WoW devs and writting team trully belive that the WoW community suffers from some sort of mental illness that render us braindead. I swear that 9.2 patch announcement they put on YT on their channel insulted my intelligence and I do not see myself as a smart guy to begin with.
