Does this repeatable quest go all the way to Exalted? I have 50 spores in my bags, currently at Honored, and just wondering if I should chance it at keeping them until I hit Revered.

Comentario de Hirru

@ Friendly reputation I was receiving 825 per turn in, and also 825 @ Honored

This was a bad post, thought the objective was glowcaps >.>...

i Abondoned this Q or the 1 before this..it was such a bad drop rate for me....

While it's a decent way to get rep, I honestly think Now That We're Still Friends... is a better rep yield. Since it dependent on a drop related quest item it's a guaranteed gain in rep. Run in, kill, run out. Fifteen minutes at the most whereas you could have a good drop rate for a few times and kill sporebats for an hour and only get a small handful of spores.

Does this quest gives reputation all the way up till exaulted? Or is there a cap?

I'm revered now, and working towards exalted. I'm still able to do this quest (though it doesn't show up for me till I click on the guy since it's "low level").

Comentario de Penne

Just did this tonight and it required 10 Fertile Spores per turn-in, not 6.

Update: This may have been changed since 2.4, since the required number of Enchantresses for Now that We're Still Friends was updated appropriately.

I'm not sure weather it is because I'm honored with them, or they've just changed it back. But I no longer have to turn in ten. I only have to deliver 6 to complet an quest ...

As for choosing either or between this quest and "Now that we're still...". Do both. Take a trip around marshlight lake, killing bats and stalkers as you go, and kill nagas when you encounter them. If you follow the shore underwater, you won't have to deal with the wrekt slaves.

As the new achivement system has been implemented it may be a good idea to complete this quest several times if you're an achivement hunter since the reward, besides reputation, is a Glowcap. The glowcaps can be used to buy the Tiny Sporebat and the Sporeggar Tabard which both are parts of different achivements. This will save you some time as you won't have to go mushroom hunting when you hit exalted.

Tiny Sporebat: 30 glowcaps
Sporeggar Tabard: 10 glowcaps
The total of 40 glowcaps = 40 turn ins = 240 Fertile Spores.

To everyone wishing to do this quest to get Sporeggar rep, I found a very good spot to farm them.

You know that northwest part on zangarmarsh with the island near it? Don't go over the bridge, stay on the main land. If you look slightly south and slightly east of the bridge you will see A LOT of greater sporebats, which drop the fertile spores.

This macro worked well for me:

/cleartarget
/tar Greater Sporebat
/tar Fen Strider
/tar Marsh Walker
/tar Sporewing
/tar Boglash
/tar Sporebat
/script SetRaidTarget("target", 02)

good farming around 18, 16

Note that it currently gives 750 rep per turn in. That is, of course, before perks

I chose to do this one over the other one simply because as a level 66 hunter with skinning as my main profession, this just is a more profitable way to spend my time. However, I began to get extremely frustrated while doing it because of the extremely low/unreliable drop rate.

I would choose a spot to stand that put at least one spore bat on each side of me and shoot them one at a time making a big pile of them, at one point I had six of them in the pile and when I looted I got ZERO fertile spores, I about lost my mind. Then directly after that I killed two and both gave up fertile spores.

I'm not sure what kind of game blizzard is playing here but it definitely seems like a cruel joke, right when you're about to give up or risk losing your mind suddenly they toss you a couple spores, just enough to keep you at it. If I didn't have skinning as a profession I would have switched to naga killing by now. (Already turned in about 60 spores, so killed about 180 spore bats)

I am getting 825 Rep at Friendly per turn in. Gnome in a level 25 guild :-)
