Comentario de Crackerjack

This item is right above the flight master in Veil Terokk, resting on a pole with a rope attached to it.

To get to the rope, walk up the slanted rock to the left of the inn facing the flight master and then jump on to it. I found using a mount helped get me the speed to close the gap. Then just walk across and get the item!

Good luck!

Comentario de blupache

There's a rope leading out to it.

The other end of the rope is tied to a tree that's growing at the foot of a hill & near a hut.

Ignore the hut. Climb up to the top of the hill. Jump from the top of the hill through the tree foliage & onto the rope.

I did it mounted, trying to aim as much along the length of the rope as possible to increase the potential landing areas & jumping from a little further back than I could've in order to get the distance right.

Once you're in the tree by the rope you'll have a face full of tree & won't be able to see much. Dismount immediately & edge out along the rope as best you can until you can actually see what you're doing. After that it's easy.

Good luck.

Crackerjack, could you clarify a few things? I see a tree to the left of the inn (location 1), but I can't walk up it. I see a tree to the left of the inn facing the FP (location 2) but it's on the opposite side of the clearing and I can't walk up it either. Both have little rock slopes next to them. Location 1: I can jump onto a branch of this tree but the rope is significantly above my head (I'm a goblin) so I can't jump up onto it. Location 2: I can jump onto the inn roof, run and jump across it to get close to loc. 1, but I can't reach the rope from this point either. So I'm guessing you are either a Tauren / BE / NE / Dranei or you've missed something in your description. First of all, please clarify which location is the one you're talking about. Do it FACING THE INN, as that's how most people will be approaching said inn. If you did, indeed, run up the tree, please say how you did this, as I can't figure it out. The trunk is nearly vertical with both trees.
For now I'm going to follow the next guy's scenario (it wasn't up 5 min ago)

How To Walk the Tightrope:

If you're a Combat Rogue, this is ridiculously easy. Just stand on the ground near the birds perched on the tightrope, then Shadowstep to the birds. Now you're on the rope, walk to the end and done!

As a monk, I used a horse mount (narrow body to aim with) and used Blupache's method below. Worked great. Thank you, to everyone who added their tips!

I don't know why Blizzard keeps putting stuff like this in. Why they think we would love trying for half an hour to jump onto a stupid rope is beyond me. I give up. Not worth the headache.

Comentario de animadafemme

what I did was climb the hill directly behind the treasure... jump onto the tree branches near it.. then jump onto the ledge right where the treasure is, no tight rope walking. Worked for me the first try :)

After LOT of trials (more than 30min) I saw someone do it using a mammoth mount and it worked! I tried too and finally got it. Seems that mammoth mounts jump far enough and high enough to get easily on the rope.

I hope it helps anyone!

The things I found the most helpful were a lot of camera work, turning off run, and using click-to-move to walk the rope once I was finally on it. It still took at least a dozen tries to get on the rope in the first place though…

Hey guys, I'm sure someone has posted this, but for the latest release, just jump onto the rope from the tent, then go get your prize.

And, my props to Varenne for the genius out of the box way he has helped us all. Gratz Var!

This was so frustrating. I am a Fury Warrior. I tried jumping on my mount, several different mounts in fact but to no avail! I read the comments from others and even made and drank an agility potion thinking maybe it would help me jump stronger, since one post was from a hunter using the cheetah aspect. Nope. Didn't work. After falling out of that darn tree for the umteenth time, I glanced at my spells and saw my heroic leap spell. Hmmm. I got onto the small branch adjacent to the branch wrapped in the pink material and walked as far forward on it as I could. Then I targeted the heavy part of the rope attached at the tree trunk with my Heroic Leap and Voila! Instantly I was on the rope! I tried this repeatedly and it worked every time. It always feels so good to figure things out. Hope this helps!

I'm a GNOME. I can't JUMP that high. And not everyone has the gold to get a *&*&^ mammoth.

I'm tempted to get a friend who can rez (preferably a thief, who can shadowstep up there), and kill myself, and have them rez me up there.

*mutter grumble*

I accomplished retrieving this treasure by simply hopping on the stump at 44,27 and merely walked the ropes to the treasure.

A few more tips from my attempts at this:
- I used the technique in the YouTube video that varenne shared. I had to give it quite a few tries to make the jump to the rope/tree, but the specific angle in the video was helpful for finally getting it.
- The tree branch that loops underneath the near end of the rope is attached to the tree such that if you land on it and miss the rope, you can back up slowly toward the tree trunk until you meet the rope end. It's sloped, so I was able to shimmy from the branch to the rope without jumping.
- In the foliage, tilt the camera angle so it's level with the rope. Toggle walking on (instead of running) and inch forward a _tiny_ bit at a time, making sure your feet are always evenly spaced from the middle of the rope, and using tank control left and right to adjust when needed.
- Be patient on the tightrope; better to take the time to get your angle right than think you've got it and have to suffer through that inane tree landing again.

I had to combine tips from several posts to finally get to the relic. What worked for me was:

-Use a mammoth mount (per Pat303) . This works far more reliably than the other mounts I tried.

-Don't jump from the very top of the hill, jump from about 1/4 of the way down (per Stargazer777 & blupache).

-Place a raid marker on one of the birds sitting on the rope (per Henderman). This was incredibly helpful to avoid the "face full of tree" issue mentioned below.

-Once you're in the tree dismount immediately, zoom all the way in (so you're viewing things from your character's perspective) to help alleviate the "face full of tree" issue, and start using click to move (found in the Mouse section of the Interface options menu). Work slowly at first, and once you're out of the trees you'll notice that it's more difficult to use click to move as it will keep trying to target the ravens or the flight master instead - zooming out to a wider perspective helped a lot with this, otherwise use the keyboard to inch forward to claim the treasure.

Comentario de 704736

I found this quite difficult, I did it mounted and with the keyboard, once on top of the rope I unmounted.
