Joining the Tillers Union.Top of pagethe day before

First off you will be sent up to see Mung Mung, a farmer who works for Haohan Mudclaw.
El voto de Mung-Mung I: Un problema hozen
To secure his vote he will ask you to help out on the farm a bit by gathering up partially chewed carrots.
El voto de Mung-Mung II: Podrido hasta la médula
When the carrot eating culprit can't be found, Mung Mung asks you to replace the carrots with ones grown on your own farm.
El voto de Mung-Mung III: El gran golpe de las zanahorias
The next day when you harvest your carrots and return to him, he will use them to replace his lost crops and save his job. He will then meet you back at your ranch to light his incense, and give you his vote.

With two votes for the Tillers Union gained, Yoon will send you up to Farmer Fung in order to earm your third.
El voto del granjero Fung: Ataque de yaks
When you speak to him, Fung is adamant that he won't be voting for Yoon or yourself. However he lets slip about his yak problem on the farm, giving you an oppertunity to befriend him.
El voto del granjero Fung: Yaks a la carrera
Fung is so grateful for you returning his Yaks, that he changes his mind about you. He offers to vote for you if you can help feed hes herd of Yaks with cabbages.
Voto III del granjero Fung: el meollo del repollo
The following day when you present your cabbages to Fung, he is taken aback but just how perfect your fresh cabbages are. So good in fact he heads straight over to your ranch and casts his vote for you, insisting that you join the union.

Three down, two to go. Only the senior members of the Mudclaw family to impress now. Yoon suggests you start with Nana Mudclaw first.
El voto de Nana I: La receta secreta de Nana
Nana's speciality it seems is brewing, but not just tasty drinks, brews that will heal and rejuvinate you. For this she requires the magical waters from the northern waterfall. This is where you can come in, but unlike the previous quests be prepared to do a little killing.
El voto de Nana II: Las fuentes sagradas
The other ingredient Nana needs for her brew is fresh Witchberries, and you guessed it, you'll be the one growing them.
El voto de Nana III: Sirope de moruja
When you grow your berries and bring them to Nana she can't wait to taste them, their sweet flavor bringing back to her fond memories of Yoon's Grandpa. Such fond memories that she trots straight on down to the farm to issue her vote and reminisce with you both about her old friend Grandpa Yoon.

Your last vote is going to be the hardest, convincing Haohan himself to let you into the Tillers Union.
El voto de Haohan: Allanamiento de bungalow
When you meet Haohan, he is too preoccupied with his farm house being broken into, and so much damage being caused to talk to you. Maybe a freindly farmer like yourself can help him out.
El voto de Haohan II: Los verdaderos culpables
You put on your CSI sunglasses and take a look around the farm. Finding the tell tale footprints of the intruders, you trace them back untill you run across the culprits of all the theft and damage.
Hozen! So they're the ones behind all this.. *takes off sunglasses* ..Monkey business.
The Who plays as you go back to Yoon to inform him of your discovery.
El voto de Haohan III: Puro veneno
Recognising the oppertunity to impress Haohan, Yoon sends you off to collect ingredients from the Virmen, to make a poison to 'deal with' the hozen.
El voto de Haohan IV: Melones para bribones
Time to start growing crops again, but this time your delicious work will go towards a more sinister end.
El voto de Haohan V: Jefe Yip-Yip
Poisoned mellons in hand you make your way to the hozen summit and face Chief Yip-Yip. As you attack you realise that he has 12 million HP. Thankfully the poison in the mellons carries a hell of a kick and allows you to kill him with ease.

By the time you return, all five voting member of the Union have heard of your triumph over Yip-Yip. Amazed at your work they all gather at your ranch to thank and congratulate you, even Haohan has high praise for you saving his farm.
With his final vote cast, all thats left is for you to lite the last incense on the Tiller Shrine, and join them as a full member of the Tillers Union.

The first issue to overcome is the abundance of weeds encroaching on your ranch.

When you get to Honored, Yoon will send you off to talk to the resident weed expert, Gai Lan Ampliar la granja I: Las malas hierbas
Gai Lan is happy to help, but asks you to make your own weed killer through Ampliar la granja I: Un pequeño problema.

Once you complete the quest you will gain Ampliando la granja when you return to your farm. Gai Lan will then meet you there, and spend the 15 minutes removing the weeds from your farm. When he's finished you will have access to four new soil mounds, ready for planting.

El sistema de irrigación de la "Princesa Jinyu"
Now that you have cleared the weeds from Sunsong Ranch, Gina Zarpa Fangosa will sell you Sistema de irrigación "Princesa Jinyu".
Once you accept it's quest you can take the boxed irrigation system back to Farmer Yoon, and he will set it up for you in your fields.

The 'Jinyu Princess' is a watering system for your plants, when you've planted all your seeds, simply use the sprinkler once, and any 'Parched Crops' in your field will be watered and become growing crops.

A neat idea, but seen as you only have 8 crops at this point, and it takes as long to turn on the sprinkler as it does to manually water your plants, it's not really the best farm addition you could hope for. The real benefit of this only comes once in a while when you have many more parched crops to water at once.

The second hinderance is Yoon's Grandfather's old broken kart.

When you hit Revered you can take the quest Ampliar la granja II: El carro roto, which sends you over to Fish Fellreed for a little carpentry help. She tells you she can fix it up no problem, so long as you bring her the woodAmpliar la granja: Toca madera.
A quick dip in the near by lake, and a few fights with crabs later and you have all the wood she'll need.

When you're done she will go over to your farm and give you Ampliando la granja while fixing up the old cart. After fifteen minutes she'll be all done, moving it off to the road side.
The space it frees up will give you another four soil mounds, but sadly not a usable cart.

Pesticidas "Rey del Trueno"
Once Fellreed has fixed the broken wagon at Sunsong Ranch, Gina Zarpa Fangosa will sell you Pesticidas "Rey del Trueno".
After you buy the Pest Repellers, and use them to take the quest, you can once again take it to Farmer Yoon to set up on your farm.

The 'Thunder King' is a little more fun than the irrigation system, but works in a very similar way. When you've planted your crops for the day, using the Pest Repeller will vaporise any insects from any 'Infested Crops' in range, and turn them into growing crops.

Much like the irrigation system, this is only really a time saver when you have more than one set of infested crops in any area. Unlike the water sprinklers though this is a lot more fun to set off, so it's worth it just for the enjoyment factor.

The final obstacle is a huge rock covering the last of your farm land.

If you get to Exalted and join the Tillers Union, by completing 'Haohan's Vote' see above, you can approach Yoon and take the quest Ampliar la granja III: La roca musgosa.

He will send you over to talk to Haohan Mudclaw who will be willing and ready to help you move the boulder.
When you return to your ranch you will get your new buff Ampliando la granja and Hoahan will follow you in with his pet Mushan 'Thunder'.

Fifteen minutes of Thunder headbutting the boulder and it's finally gone, revealing the last four plots of your farm land.

El arado maestro "Abretierras"
With the mossy boulder removed from you field, Gina Zarpa Fangosa will sell you your final item, Arado maestro "Abretierras".
Now that you have your hands on the Master Plow you can once again give it to Yoon to set it up on the farm.

The 'Earth Slasher' is a really nice upgrade and easily the best of the three rewards from growing your farm. Once Yoon has placed it with your other tools, you can pick it up and keep it in your bags just as you would do the watering can or bug sprayer. Arado maestro

When used, the plow sends you in a straight line for four seconds, tilling any soil in your path as you go. A great time saver.
All you need to do is line yourself up with a row of untilled soil, use the plow and you'll have neatly tilled piles of soil ready for planting.
Unfortunalty the plow wont remove stuborn weeds or occupied soil, but once you've done those by hand, this will make quick work of tilling.

Great guide, it's interesting to see this.

Comentario de 132039

Unless I'm missing something, you can do the initial quest chain at lvl 85, but everything else requires lvl 90. Is this true?

I can imagine someone joyfully following the guide, and then suddenly stuck earning only 200 rep a day harvesting 4 plots, trying to reach revered for the motes of harmony.

If there are level limits, you might want to point them out to spare others the misery.

Comentario de DaHomieG

I finally became Best Friends with all the NPCs last night, and here's some info for the guide so you can fill in the missing fields, starting with EVERYTHING you get from being a Best Friend, excluding items (so that means only aesthetic changes to the farm itself):

Farmer Fung: Adds "Shaggy", a yak in the pen behind the Shrine. He stays in place and does not move an inch.

Old Hillpaw: Adds 5 "Hillpaw's Chicken". Two by the Shrine and three by the front entrance from the road.

Fish Fellreed: Adds 3 "Piggy", three pink pigs. One in the pen behind the Shrine next to Shaggy and two in the square plot of water to the right of Yoon's house.

Chee Chee: Adds 4 "Farm Sheep" to the little spot of grass next to the square plot of water and behind Andi.

Sho: Adds an orange tree behind the square plot of water. The tree is uninteractable and just sits there looking pretty.

Ella: Adds "Luna", a cat that lays stationary in front of the stairs to Yoon's house. Uses the Black Tabby Cat model.

Jogu the Drunk: I thoroughly triple checked my farm and he does not add anything aesthetic to the farm.

Tina Mudclaw: Fixes up the inside of Yoon's house, adding furniture, decorations and a Stove for you to cook in. (As if all the stoves and grills in the Market FIVE feet away weren't close enough for you.)

Gina Mudclaw: Add's a mailbox called "Yoon's Mailbox" in front of the property by the road next to the two small carts.

Haohan Mudclaw: Add's "Miss Fifi", a small blue Mushan to the plain behind the farm behind the big tree that's behind the broken cart. She walks around in circles.

----------------------------------

You stated above that the Lost Dog spawns in the Heartlands and offers a quest. I cannot seem to find him. Does he show up after a specific quest or reputation standing? I am Honored with the Tillers, 2 bars away from Revered as of today (all dailies done), and Best Friends with all NPCs as stated above. The only quests I have not done for NPCs are Chee Chee's final quest, as it is bugged for me. The Hozen does not go hostile when he spawns and despawns after 30 seconds. Secondly are the Sho Mission quests. I cannot do the last 3, as the current one I'm on, Aerial Threat, is bugged and those Cliff Kites do not show up anywhere. The other two quests are the third and forth Jogu quests, involving brewing Jade Witch Brew and Mad Brewer's Breakfast. When does the Lost Dog show up?

----------------------------------

Lastly, do the Tiller's Union quests show up after a certain reputation standing? I did Mung Mung's vote, and after doing all these quests and being at Honored, I am given only dailies. Farmer Fung's voting quests are not given to me. Do you have to be Revered to get them?

That's all I have to contribute and those are my questions. Thanks in advance. :)

As of August 6th, there is a type in the section dealing with Songbells: you suggest, correctly, that it would be more efficient to harvest the Motes, to turn in for leather, however you link the intestines(Intestinos rollizos), not the leather(Cuero de neblina).

Comentario de Annalisse

Just a heads up, in the latest beta build (15961) the "Jinyu Princess" Irrigation System and "Thunder King" Pest Repeller items/quests are active - pictures inc. They cover two rows of crops. Both quests when turned in are +250 Tillers Rep (before Guild bonus) each and 19 g 84 s 50 c at L90.

In the "Increasing your farm's size" section, you link the 'Thunder King' twice, and the text around the latter indicates that it is the 'Earth Slasher'.

Amazing guide! Thanks so much for your time, effort and knowledge!

Comentario de Hoochie

Thank you very much. A very good read.

Comentario de Alamandaros

Question regarding the TIller's Union vote quests. Will those quests happen one after the other as you complete them, or will they only happen at a certain amount of rep after you've completed the previous in the chain?

Comentario de 713023

You gain (50) rep for harvesting each crop.
Each time you plant a seed you have a chance to grow a bursting plant.
This plant can be harvested right away so you can plant a new seed.
Thus if u have enough time and gold you can:
Plant a seed
Harvest bursting crop or destroy crop using your dented shovel
Till soil. Rinse and Repeat

Comentario de RelentlessLogic

Thank-you so much for this guide, it is very thorough, and I found everything I needed to know - and lots of things that I didn't know too! :)

Comentario de Thoorin

This is kind of obvious, but I think the guide should mention that the daily planting quest from Yoon doesn't check if you harvested what Yoon tells you to plant, it completes the moment the crop reaches "Growing" status.

This means you can just plant the seed, tend the crop, turn the quest in, dig up the crop using the Dented Shovel (found next to other tools on your farm) and plant what you really need to grow - thus not blocking a patch of land for a day.

Comentario de 60017

For the Dog quest in the Heartlands, you need to be at 12600/21000 revered with the Tillers, which would be 0/8400 "Good Friend" if the Tillers rep were an individual.

Comentario de 564090

Minor typo in the recipe section: the Sauteed Carrots recipe for Jogu requires 2 carrots each, which means someone will need 10 carrots total per day for him, not 5.

Comentario de 958353

Excellent guide! Very clear about every aspect.

Nit-pick - the table showing what comodities you can buy with Espíritu de armonía - (just above Increasing farm size) you list 20xMadeja de paño de lanaviento its actually 20xPaño de lanaviento. Wish it were bolts, might actually be worth it for bolts.

The irrigation and pest killer items are worth more than possibly saving an extra click should you end up with more than one affected crop. You save bag space as well...sure you can destroy the watering can and bug sprayer anytime, but that's way more clicks isn't it.

Comentario de argogruelin

Once you have a character at revered and you have purchased the Commendation there are a few things you can do to really boost your reputation quickly.

Once you start the farm, do every quest and you should have earned enough rep to add a second set of plots. Buy your Jinyu Princess irrigation system from Gina.

Day 1: Plant 1 scallion for Gina, Plant 2 carrot for Mung Mung. The rest of the plots don't matter.
Day 2: Do every quest, harvest your scallion, Yoon will send you to Mung Mung to pick up chewed carrots, then plant and harvest 2. As you planted 2 yesterday, now you can plant 2 and harvest the grown ones. This will have earned you enough rep to open the 3rd plot. Plant 3 cabbages and on your new plot 3 Witchberries. Buy your "Thunder King" pest repellers quest. The other 6 plots don't matter. From neutral at this point I was 4077 into revered. Add 1 dungeon, 1 scenario with guild perk and tillers chosen 5177 rep.
Day 3: Do every quest, You'll now have the quest to get Farmer Fungs vote. Plant 3 cabbage, harvest 3 cabbage from yesterday. Pick up Nana's vote quest, Plant 3 Witchberries and harvest your set from yesterday. 12052 into revered. Plant 4 melons. Add 1 dungeon, 1 scenario with guild perk 14252 rep.
Day 4: Do every quest, you can now pick up the dog quest and Haohans vote quest. This will put you over. Grats on exalted.

Note: Running over occupied soil with the plow will reduce the little SOB to less than half health and makes killing easy ...

I am the impatient kind, so I don't like waiting until the next day for quests that say harvest X <insert veggie here>. Since you can just plant, tend, dig up your veggie until you get a Bursting veggie, that is the strategy I tend to take. To that end, I have made a macro that I hope will help someone else. You can also use this for daily planting, etc.

TLDR; Just copy the first macro. Copy second macro if you want to bind the first macro to a mouse button and run it once to bind it to all your characters (assuming you are not using character specific keybinds). Put seeds in action bar 5, button 1. Click your way to Bursting goodness. Come back here and read the wall of text if you have problems using it.

NOTE 1: You need to have the watering can, bug sprayer, and shovel in your inventory for these to work. While you can just use your irrigation and bug zappers, I am lazy and just like to mindlessly click 2 buttons without moving my mouse. If you want to save the bag space, you can pick them up every time at your farm, then delete them from your bags after your done.

NOTE 2: I do NOT claim that this will give you better chances at getting a Bursting veggie - I have gotten a Bursting on my 3rd plant, and also planted over 150 to get one. RNG is still RNG. However, this will allow you to quickly go through the planting, tending, digging process. You'll have to decide whether the time invested is worth it to you for each quest. Personally, I'm too lazy to do this for the daily rep (8 harvests), but I do this for all the quests to expand my farm.

NOTE 3: This works by being closest to the object you're attempting to affect and working on a priority of planting, spraying, watering, then digging. That being said, I have on a number of occasions, dug up the wrong plant by lazily spam clicking when the plant I was trying to dig up wasn't ready. To limit this, I find it easiest to use this on the corner of a plot, just barely in range to be able to till the soil (I use the corner next to Joon and stand on the hay). This puts you out of range of the other plants, but in range of the affected plant.

NOTE 4: This macro assumes that you reserve one action slot (action bar 5, button 1) to put the seeds in so you can quickly change the type of veggie you are planting. If you don't want to do that, each time you plant you can change the "/click" line to "/use <insert seeds here>".

NOTE 5: Did I mention I'm lazy? This macro is an enabler. Name it "Tillers" if you plan on using the binding macro below.

Tillers Macro of Awesome-ness:

/cleartarget
/tar Tilled
/click MultiBarRightButton1
/tar Infested
/use item:80513
/tar Parched
/use item:79104
/tar Growing
/use item:89880
/cleartarget

And, because I'm really, REALLY lazy - here's a macro to bind it to my mouse button 5 so I can right-click to till and tend, and use mouse button 5 for everything else. You can bind to wherever you want, mouse button 5 works for me. You only need to run this once to bind it to all your characters, assuming you are not using character specific keybinds. If you want to unbind it, you would edit the second argument to be empty (just two double quotations).

To bind (Make sure the previous macro is named "Tillers"):

/run SetBinding("BUTTON5","MACRO Tillers") SaveBindings(1)

To unbind (just in case):

/run SetBinding("BUTTON5","") SaveBindings(1)

The you go, happy clicking! Time for me to lazily sign off.

Just a small tip - If you have to deal with a "Tangled" crop, you normally need to grab the weed and then walk away from the plot slowly until the weed breaks. If you're a mage, you can speed things up a little by grabbing the weed, and then using your "Blink" spell to jump away, instantly breaking the weed.

May I say first, very good and detailed guide!

I still have some questions and I saw one off them already in comments (by AnthonyK) but not yet answered but I would break it open for all chars::

What are advantage(s) you get if you choose a char for the quest Otro par de manos
I now have chosen Jogu the Drunk but seems not to help with anything or am I doing something wrong.

Atm he is the only one I can choose (am best friend with) and so that brings me to my second question:
Can you Chance helper later on?

Here's a quick macro I made that will tell you which Tillers you have left to feed each day. Hope some of you find it useful!

/run for k, v in pairs({Chee=30402,Ella=30386,Fung=30421,Fish=30427,Gina=30390,Hao=30414,Jogu=30439,Hillpaw=30396,Sho=30408,Tina=30433})do print(format("%s: %s",k,IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(v) and "\124cff00ff00Done\124r"or"\124cffff0000Not Done\124r")) end

Does anyone know why some of my 90 toons can purchase bags of seeds for 27G while the others pay 30G. They are all exalted with Tillers and Best Friends with each of the NPC's. Does it have to do with their level within each of the Ways? I really didn't want to level ALL of them for the cooking but they all plant for profession mats. Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Great guide, I think you are slightly off with what the Professions seeds drop-rates now. I have been farming consistently on a main toon (yes I have multiples) I have been getting anywhere from 2-4 exotic leather per raptor seed (as of 3/6/14 I have 2 full stacks of exotic leather and that was from two days of farming) and anywhere between 3-7 Windwool Cloth with the occasional Bolt of Windwool. I have not tried with Snakeroot or Magebulb yet. Mainly because of the more random nature of what they can give you. I may try them out soon once I finish with my songbells or even my raptorleaf seeds.

The Snakeroot Seed doesn't ever yield Kyparite. I have been planting and harvesting snakeroot about daily for the past few months and have never gotten any yield of Kyparite.

Probably get voted down(hopefully get deleted if fixed) but "Who you choose is entirly up to you."

May want to fix that minor spelling error.

in WOD, what is the best seed to farm for cash?

Comentario de Bulletti

Do I have to bother with the individual reps if I only care about hitting exalted for the ambassador meta?

Comentario de sistercoyote

This is an AWESOME and very useful guide (I am, of course, way late to the party but this is par for the course with me).

Question: I am Honored with The Tillers, but I never received the Mung-Mung quest from Yoon. Is it because my level (100) is too high? Or do you (all) think I missed something else? I did get the weed removal farm expansion quest right on time.

Comentario de Taraezor

To assist you all with farming I made an AddOn which I put up at Curse.

It has almost all the Dark Soil locations. I threw in some other stuff too such as the NPC home locations!

Hope you enjoy it and that it assists you! :)

Comentario de Sarthorius

The addon Spade (needs Opie to work with it's rings) is very good in helping you manage the farm, making it easier to plant seeds (individual or bags), and using the tools available (single ones, excluding the master plower, that you can use by alt+right clicking any untilled soil. Just remember to aim so that you run through 4 of them in line).

Without it you have to micro manage your bags, searching for the seeds and tools to use.
