Chronicle Volume 1 - Additional information

All the clues from this riddle were directly connected to the book World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume I. Although it was not used throughout the hunt, people made the connection, and it helped the Secret Finding Community locate all of the pages.

The developers, predicting that the first clues would be located thanks to datamining of the pages, even added a clue on the page numbers themselves (which did seem random at the time). When writing all the page numbers in order (9, 78, 161, 655, 845, 1127, 2351, 5555), the 13 first digits formed one of the ISBN numbers for the book—978-1616558451! This number can also be seen on Amazon's book page.

After the riddle was completed, the developers wrote a blog post talking about how they used Chronicle Volume I as the source of their clues, and you can read the post-mortem blog post below:

Page 9, the page found in Dalaran, reads "... of sea, spirit and self...". This first clue came from the cosmology chart in Chronicle Volume I.

At the intersection of the planes of Water (sea), Spirit (spirit) and Reality (self), lies the Emerald Dream. The page this clue leads to is in Bosque del Ocaso, next to the Twilight Grove, one of the locations of the Emerald Dream Portals in Azeroth.

Page 78, the page found in Bosque del Ocaso, reads "...first of the lords to fall...". Chronicle references Ragnaros as the first of the Elemental Lords to fall to the Titans during the Wrath of the Titanforged chapter. Coincidentally, Ragnaros was also the first of the Elemental Lords to fall to the players, on his first incarnation as the final boss of Molten Core—the first raid released in Vanilla WoW, back in 2004.

This clue leads to Ragnaros' final resting place, at his throne in the Tierras de Fuego.

Page 161, the page found in the Tierras de Fuego, reads "...the wind, the eye...". On Pages 33 and 34, Chronicle Volume I back during the time of the Black Empire. This map shows the domains of the Wind (represented by Al'Akir) and the Eye (represented by C'Thun).

On the southern border of these two domains, you can see Uldum's Virnaal River and its delta, and this is the clue that led to the next page.

The location of the next page is on the border of the domains of Wind and Eye.

Page 655, the first page found in Uldum, reads "…the plume, the tomb, the scarab moon…". Pages 44 and 45 show a map of Ordered Azeroth, created after the Old Gods would empower several creatures to put order into Azeroth.

Drawing a line from the plume (represented by Cráter de Un'Goro, which has the Fire Plume Ridge volcano at its center), to the Tomb (represented by the Valle de la Flor Eterna, the location of the Vault of Y'shaarj, the Old God's tomb) and the Scarab Moon (represented by Ahn'Qiraj). You will get a makeshift arrow pointing towards the Vault of Y'shaarj, the location of the next page.

The lines connecting the plume, the tomb, and the scarab moon lead to the Vault of Y'shaarj.

If you go from the entrance coming from Norushen's room, it will be by the northwest corner of the room.

If you follow the in-game map, it will be by the southwest corner of the room.

Page 845, the page found in Asedio de Orgrimmar, reads "… in snow, sand, and stone…". On pages 76 and 77, you can see a map of Azeroth after the Aqir and Troll Wars.

By drawing lines between the three Titan facilities located on the map, Ulduar (situated within the snowy north), Uldum (the desert known as the Land of the Titans), and Uldaman (the place where the Titans created the Troggs from stone), the Pozo de la Eternidad will be at the center of this triangle, and it is where the next page is located.

The Well of Eternity is at the center of the triangle of Ulduar, Uldum, and Uldaman.

Page 1127, the page found in Pozo de la Eternidad, reads "…behold the battle, unblinking…". On page 84 of Chronicle Volume I, you can see the August Celestial Xuen fighting against Lei Shen.

In the background of the fight, you can see the entrance to Monasterio del Shadopan and the tiger statues that guard its doors, watching the battle, unblinking. This is where the next clue will be located.

Page 2351, the page found in Cima Kun-Lai, reads "…bejeweled watcher…". This one was pretty easy to find without Chronicle, but the clue was still there—on Page 86, you can see a picture of two statues of Watchers with bejeweled staves guarding the entrance to the Cámaras de los Orígenes.

This led to the last clue, as the page would be near the foot of one of those statues.

Page 5555, the second page found in Uldum, reads "...ray of sunrise…". The final clue from the puzzle was also the least obvious from a Chronicle standpoint, although the clue itself led players to Páramos de Poniente, considering there is a lighthouse with a ray of light (used to guide boats), and it is a place known for beautiful sunrises.

On pages 108-109, you can see a map of Azeroth after being shattered by the destruction of the Well of Eternity. In this map, there is a stylized compass. When you draw a line from the east direction of the compass (since the sun rises in the east), it will directly intersect with the final location of the Obsequio de los sondeamentes!

Following the compass's east direction leads directly into Westfall's shores - And the Gift of the Mind-Seekers.

Note to all :) if u do this like 2-3 steps, then take a break and the reset happens, your progress will be deleted and you will have to start over :) learnt it the hard way :(

People doing it on 8.3... You need to check the old version of Uldum, not the new one! It won't work on the new one.

I had already cleared Siege of Orgrimmar before attempting this, and was locked out of backtracking. I was able to get page 845 in the LFR version.

If u are a worgen doing also heritage armor questline, in Duskwood it phases you to the questline and you can't see page 78 near the moonweel. You have to do heritage quest first.

Just got this mount today, and the guide provided is excellent and made it very easy to attain. I'm a mage so it's easy to portal around, but if you're not, make sure you make SW your hearth, as the Caverns of Time and Uldum portals are in SW.

I can confirm this guide works in 2022, but with some notes:
- You currently need to be level 45 to start
- I'm new to WoW and didn't know 3 of these were inside of raids (Firelands, Siege of Orgrimmar, Well of Eternity ended up being raids, but if you're 45, you can almost 1-hit everyone and solo them)
- For page 9, talk to Chromie and go back in time to Legion content to get it. Page 9 in Dalaran was missing. I spent 30 minutes wondering if I was in the wrong area, so out of desperation I went back in time and ended up finding that the older version of Dalaran (NOT in Northrend) retained the old design and had the page

Thank you for the awesome guide, everything works, except for Page 1127 - Well of Eternity, where Illidan is bugged in the dungeon to trigger the boss in front of Queen Azshara, anyway it unbugged after a couple of my deaths against demons :D, otherwise everything else is fine.
