Throughput & Damage Profiles: is the clear winner for almost all scenarios, with only winning on sustained high target (12+) AOE.

Defense: Unfortunately, both of our Hero trees are weak in this department. has Cambio de fase, providing a fluctuating 2-8% damage reduction, as well as more Soul Fragment generation, which provides a minor healing boost. has Dolor en llamas, which is a minor (0.5%) damage reduction as well as a small smoothing of damage intake, or Desgarre de alma mejorado, which is a minor increase to Leech. There is very little that separates these trees in this department.

Utility: gains access to mobility increases, either through more of your movement cooldown with Estado de la materia or a fluctuating speed increase with Camino al olvido. also gains access to a fluctuating movement speed increase with Persecución de la ira. It also gains access to minor group utility when enemies can be stunned with Ola de debilitamiento. The bonuses for both trees are mostly minor.

Playing a Devourer Demon Hunter in rotation guide

Avoid resource waste: Devourer revolves around ramping into powerful Metamorfosis del Vacío windows. It's access is entirely based on your Soul Fragment and Fury generation, so make sure to minimize waste of both!

Plan Cooldown Windows: Devourer's damage revolves around Void Metamorphosis, with power spikes upon entering and exiting this form. As such, you want to use this as many times as possible throughout a fight, and ensure you have minimal disruptions when you do use it.

Be aware of your surroundings: Devourer is a 25-yard ranged spec, but requires being stationary for some of its strongest spells. Using movement such as Desfasaje proactively to position yourself so your casts won't be interrupted is important. Likewise, if using , knowing when and where to use abilities such as Filovacío and La cacería safely is essential.

Damage & Performance: Currently, Elfo del Vacío offers the highest damage due to its powerful passive Vinculación entrópica. Both Elfo de sangre and Elfo de la noche are incredibly close however, and offer passive stat bonuses.

Mythic+ & Utility: Night Elf offers situational utility in Mythic Plus with Fusión de las sombras, sometimes enabling some skips or the ability to dodge some mechanics, while not using your combat potion to do so. The other options bring utility as well, with Blood Elf bringing the ability to mass purge enemies due to Torrente Arcano, and Void Elf bringing the ability to dodge some mechanics and reposition easily with Falla espacial. The differences among these options is negligible.

I've been maining DH since it came out, and im in love with the spec. I've tried out an annihalator build with no hungering slash hunt route, just the right side. My only complaint is that its a bit simple, and the collapsing star perk to increase its damage on multiple uses feels useless in world and sometimes boss fights due to how long it takes to get up to using it.

I feel like they could throw in a button or two more to make it more engaging, since most open world is just consume > reap > void beam > repeat.

I tried a little bit of the hungering slash through the hunt build, but it honestly felt a bit out of the way and akward to follow that rotation. Maybe they could add a buff to reap to make it more useful, or increase soul shard Gen/reduce costs (like 20 for collapsing star instead).

Overall though I love the spec. Having a blast with it.

Thanks for the guide - are the (Talent) calculator links meant to have the Hero talents selected? At the moment they're not selected/are empty for all 3 links.

Hello! This build is not good for DH in general as it does not consider the impact that Immolate has as an ability for DH, since it's imperative for metamorphosis uptime. I have changed the talent tree on my end to include immolate and have doubled the damage it puts out on retail in regular 655 gear, and tested it on beta where it has outperformed my favorite classes.

Keep in mind, this build is meant to be used for Mythic+, as I don't consider DH a good single-target damage spec. Haste is also really important in this build to get the collapsing stars out during meta.

They really messed this class up bad, feels so weak., like they tested nothing, nor listened to any feedback........ Also agreeing with Ribbwich710 the new talent calc layout is much harder to understand at surface level.

As a long time DH player, I can say the spec is really awesome and fun, however, any mistake while in Void meta can be really punishing, and I probably won't be playing the class until some changes are made to it.

One thing is that the player barely reaches Collapsing star even once, and has a ultra-small cast window to use it, even tho the entire talent tree works with it and is the most amazing looking spell blizz's produced..
The player can be cc'd, there could be no active mob at the moment they manage to gather enough resources to have it, even sometimes the chance to target a mob and you lose your most precious spell. Wish it weren't like that. 🙄

Many of the specs are really awesome and "freeing" to play after the midnight changes. This spec however feels unrewarding and rage-baiting most of the time. I think I'll wait for some less frustrating changes. Cheerio ✌️

no idea why Charred Warblades is recommended when the spec itself doesnt deal any fire damage, at most it restores a tiny bit if heal that's burned away by soul immolation but you would be much better off taking pretty much anything else... the healing is miniscule.

I'm running Annihilator, do I always use Reap before Void Ray since it resets? Or do I save those souls for Eradicate?

I don't understand how Void-Scarred is a better choice for single-target when none of the melee talents are taken. They seem to have about the same free damage for going into meta between 2 Voidsurges vs 1 Voidfall and 1 Meteor Shower, so while I know you get 1 extra Devourer's Bite window per meta, surely all the other Voidfall procs both in and out of meta would more than make up for that?

can we fet a further breakdown as to what about the 12.0.5 changes makes annihilator the default over void scarred? most of the changes seem to be buffs to void scarred and they were already close.

also no changes to charred warblades and they took away the only thing that dealt fire damage when they changed immo lol

Am I wrong in seeing one of the changes was supposed to make eradicate do full damage to main targeted and then reduced for aoe targets? But ingame it does not split the damage the right way, and this guide glosses over that talent change so im unsure if this is a bug or its just being left alone.

So, my Void scarred build, considering how fast you need to consume souls to get back to meta, and since the idea is getting in and out of meta as fast as 3 abilities, i use soul immolation for the dead spot that occurs when you fall out of cycle, like time skip for aug, since you should be fulling your fury when you leave meta thanks to the unconsumed stack of souls, also, popping soul immo at that point with the fury bonuses instead of feast of souls bonus allows you to cast 3-5 eradicates in 10s with the soul regen and soul immo in the background helping, this cycle pretty much defeats the need for the extra 2s on feast. you also reach meta guaranteed at the end of your first eradicate sequence, about 6s into combat, allowing a seamless in and out since your voidblade should be off cooldown when you end the first meta. ignore collapsing star, it WILL break your meta cycle xD Stats are a balance of crit and mastery but not too much haste (Ideally around 2\3 of your crit or mastery, the should be balanced for the ideal burst) or youll be stuck in meta too long. Dont worry about using the vengeful retreat dmg buff proc when it happens, it actually adds major downtime to the build cos its so janky to use in combat. You can /castsequence it to voidblade but then you're adding an overly complex mechanic to an already complex build xD. the choice is ultimately up to you.
