This achievement is currently bugged. Blizzard stated that all old quests you completed prior to the patch wouldn't count towards this achievement, yet if you complete 1 quest after you've logged in it will still list them as completed. It resets back to what its supposedly the correct number of completed quests every time you log out.

I got this today, I had 300 more quests to complete before Cataclysm was released. I suggest you hurry if you want this too, who knows when Blizzard will fix this bug.

Does this count dailies...like if i do a daily each day for 10 days, does it add quests to the total?

I think this achievement is sort of bugged. I got it yesterday and the last time I checked (which was only a few minutes before I got it) I had 2100/3000 quests completed. And even though I completed the achievement, I didn't get the title.

EDIT: It seems like I'm just an idiot. I did a little research and it appears that the tracker is bugged so it jumps up and down and doesn't show the exact number of quests completed. Also I just noticed that I can scroll down the title window. . . .

Definitely bugged and they know about it. You can check under your statistics tab to see the number of regular quests and daily quests you have completed, separate listings. I have about 4400 regualr quests and haven't been given the achievement. Made a ticket to ask a GM and was told I could do a faction change and it would be awarded. Other than that, I don't think it's on anyone's fix-it list. It's not even mentioned on the forums

Got my title before they fix it. My quest total kept jumping + and - 560ish; pi**ed me off enough to grind a cpl days and get it over with. Another Cata bug that shouldn't be.

A cpl months before I had told a GM it did that (busy w/ other things besides quests, hadn't noticed before), was told it was my add-ons even when I had none. Asked again later, was told it was a bug on their end but the low total was correct. I noticed that (before I got title) when I signed out for the day w/ high total, then back on the next, the low total was there again. Then after a couple-three quests I checked it again and high total was back; frustrating when you put in that time and effort just to have a patch wipe it away and they try to justify it by saying 'it makes things fair for everyone'. No, it doesn't. Anyway, good luck to you if you're working on it.

so its a year later since cata was released and the bug still was not fixed how do i know? because when noble garden came around i noticed that i completed one of their quests when i noticed my counter shot up about 600 quests when i did all their quests i needed like 10 more quests to get the achievement so i did the starter human quests and got the achieve and title also its not worthy that weekly quest count towards the achievement although it resets when the weekly quest reset

so hum, I got much more than 3000 quests total across my characters, so I take that it's 3000 different quests right? (with the new account-wide achievements)

When this was released in Wrath you'd be required to complete the vast majority of quests available in game and would normally be done whilst grinding out Loremaster. With the new expansions (later patches in Wrath, Cata and Mists) the requirements for this have become certainly easier. Unlike Loremaster this doesn't seem to be a cross-character achievement meaning you'll need to stack up your three thousand quests on one toon. This and the Loremaster are good ways of rounding out your faction reps, getting some cash together (particularly the Wrath/Cata/Pandaria quests) and fully exploring the world and it's lore.

I'm hoping they do introduce a second tier for this achievement (similar to the Exalted/the Beloved)

For those wondering it takes 3213 quest to get for Alliance:
Loremaster of Eastern Kindom, Loremaster of Kalimdor, Loremaster of Outland, Loremaster of Northerend, Loremaster of Cataclysm

So for those Alliance going for Loremaster this is the easiest way to get <The Seeker> title.

Sit back, whack on some good tunes or your favorite show, get some food and enjoy.

Its imporant not to make this a chore; have some fun while doing it! I really enjoyed getting this achievement, it took me about 2 month of about 3 hours a day and I read a lot of quest texts. You honestly get so much more out of it if you take the time to read the amazing story lines that Blizzard have created; especially if you haven't played any of the zones since Cata, as a lot of the zones have been rather brilliantly re-done. So don't think 'na man I'm not doing that thats gonna take forever!' Just go and play the game as it was intended.
