Doopy the penguin is an elite battle pet in Northrend, located just northeast of the Shadow Vault in Icecrown. When you beat him, he will drop a Frost-Tipped Eggshell. After turning in the eggshell at the Brawler's Guild, you will be able to purchase Challenge Card: Dippy & Doopy which allows you to fight both Dippy and Doopy in the arena. This is a rank 5 fight.

As for beating him in a pet battle: he is not that hard. Just bring a team with strong flying attacks and you're golden :)

For this fight I used the following pet team.

Scourge Whelpling for plagued blood and tail sweep combo

Shrine Fly for glowing toxin, cocoon strike, and slicing winds

An throw away Pandaren Monk, should of used a second flyer like shrine fly.

I managed to beat him with Anubisath Idol alone, playing with Crush, Sandstorm (deals strong damage on Doopy because he is a Water pet) and Deflection.
*** Most important thing is to avoid Doopy's Ice Tomb when it detonates (with Deflection).

...and be lucky with Crush, so it doesn't miss. If Crush misses, any Flying pet will do the trick after Anubisath dies.

Be aware not to bother trying on an alt character, i was unable to interact with Doopy, not sure if because not 90 or because i had no ranking in brawlers on the character.

Just FYI: This Elite battle pet is EASILY beaten by any team that is 3 pets using flying attacks.

Just defeated him with 3 tamed birds from Dragonblight, near Wyrmest Temple (1 rare and 2 uncommon) after a few unlucky tries where my birds missed their abilities. After defeating him he gave me a Frost-Tipped Eggshell (Which can be returned to Brawler's Guild for a Challenge Card)

Rapana Whelk is pretty solid since it takes reduced damage from all of doopy's attacks, and it has a high health pool and self healing.

I didnt level or catch many flying pets so I used
- lvl22 wildhammer gryphon hatchling (H/P) Peck - Slicing wind - Lift-off
- lvl25 shrine fly (S/B) Slicing wind - Cocoon strike - Glowing toxin
- lvl23 Effervescent glowfly (P/B) Slicing wind - Cocoon strike - Glowing toxin

The gryphon wasnt much help except the lift-off did decent damage. Best attack was the toxin. It did 81 damage every round. It helps in the first round to have a pet that can block the ice-tomb or the impact of it. After that its pretty easy to take him down.

I used a lvl 22 rare Cockroach and used the ''Apocalypse'' ability from start and then i switched between a flying pet and a snail. I managed to survive for 15 rounds which then killed Doopy off :D

I took the tip on using flying pets to beat Doopy, and first attempted the fight using Chi-Chi, Gilnean Raven and Dragonbone Hatchling. He made mincemeat of them twice, so I switched to moths. Amber Moth, Ashwing Moth and Skywisp Moth all set up with Alpha Strike, Cocoon Strike and Moth Dust, using those abilities in reverse order and then whenever they came off cooldown. They decimated poor Doopy - only Amber Moth died, Ashwing finished in full health and Skywisp wasn't even needed.

Doopy can put a nasty accuracy debuff on you, hence the frequent misses. I got lucky with the RNG on that with the moths, but they would have taken him down regardless ;)

Well, here's my strategy; maybe it'll help someone.

Pets:
- A Flyer with Lift-off, a solid spammable Flying attack like Slicing Wind, and either Adrenaline Rush or a natural speed higher than Doopy's. I had a Dragonbone Hatchling.

- Something with Flock that'll be able to get off at least one hit with it. I had a Szechuan Chicken.

- Something with a hard-hitting Flying attack. A crow/raven with Darkness/Nocturnal Strike is great (I had a Crow), but you shouldn't need to be too picky; I didn't even have to use my third pet.

Basically, just have your first pet spam their flying attack while renewing Adrenaline Rush whenever it falls off. When Doopy's Ice Tomb drops to 1 Round on it's countdown, Lift-off. When that pet dies, bring in the second one and just spam Flock until either Doopy dies or it does. If Doopy even survives this long, it should be easy pickings for whatever high-power Flying move you throw at it. Again, a Darkness/Nocturnal Strike combo is great since it doesn't care about the accuracy debuff.

As mentioned below, taking Doopy out gives you an item entitling you to challenge one of the Brawler Arena bosses.

If your 3rd pet dies AFTER Doopy dies, even though you won, you will not receive the Ice-Tipped Eggshell.

I tried Droopy with three Battle Pets with flying attacks as suggested. One of my pets REALLY seems like it's flying attack hits only 20% of the time...I swear to God it rarely hits. Failed the first time.

Second time...after two pets I had Droopy down to 142 hit points. My remaining pet is one that doesn't have the poor flying attack rate. Still it didn't land a single hit, so my 1644 hit points to Droopy's 142 meant nothing.

In so many ways, Blizzard devs are #$%^&*!s.

Done it easy with 1. Brilliant Kaliri 2. Amber Moth 3. Sea Gull with only Kaliri dying. sacrifices had to be made.

The Darkmoon hatchling is awesome in this fight - its a critter so it takes less dmg, and it has flying attacks so it does more dmg

I found it rather straightforward to defeat him using three Crows (or Gilnean Raven, or Dread Hatchling). Call Darkness > Nocturnal Strike > Peck your way to victory.

you MUST do this fight with at least two battle pets that are "Flyer" as they do extra dmg. I did it with two moths and a dark phoenix hatchling and it was cake. They were all level '24'

For anyone cramped for time before 6.0.2 and leveling pets now just for the brawl deck achievements, you can beat him as soon as you hit 20, or even sooner if you're good. I just downed him with a team of level 20s: Tiny Sporebat, Dread Hatchling, and Brilliant Kaliri. I literally hit 20 on all three just minutes before from the Shattrath trainer (level 23 crocs).

They were pretty equal in XP, but Kaliri was the only survivor.

Summary of fight

Start off with bat: sting, fungus, wind until dead
Pick hatchling: darkness, noc strike, talon until dead
Kaliri: pred strike (Doopy died right here for me at the same time Kaliri took a Tomb and lived. Just quill him to death if he doesn't.)
