Looking at the quests he ends (presuming there's an introduction quest that unlocks the others), there's a quest named "Akama", which is typically epynonymous, like other introduction quests. Sanoru ( https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/npc=21826 ) has the introduction quest, who seems to have another introduction quest from your Scryer ( https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/quest=10686 ) or Aldor ( https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/quest=10575 ) folks. This is all just backtracking from Wowhead links - since I want those gloves, I'm testing this right now.

No he does not give the quest for Black Temple attunement, as shown in the April-fools edition of the WoW website: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/btattunement/ . So don't bother going there. (Unless ofcourse you've never been)

You have to complete all Ashtongue Deathsworn quests to get the BT Attunement quest in Serpentshrine Cavern.

A little lore:

When illidan comes to outlands together with kaelthas and lady vashj
they attack the black temple to get rid of magtheridon.

There they meet the draenei who are also fighting the legions troops.
Then you have the option(in war3 the frozen throne) to help them, so they will join you, or just ignore their presence.
Most people chose to help them, and then you gain akama as a hero.
That way akama starts to fight side by side with illidan and the others...

Most of this can be seen in the movie blizzard made about the black temple.

I dont remember Akama like this in Warcraft 3 frozen throne. There he is a Lost one.. I have heard that there are 3 kinds of Draenie.. Them you can make a char with (the commons), The brokens and The lost ones. I remember him like one of the last: https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/npc=763 (with Akamas weapons) Is it just me or have they? and if, why that?

Go nearly to the end of the room. On the right is water. swim under water to the next room. There you will see the demon Vagath and 2 Temptresses.
They are inactive. Walk past them and look left - there is Akama

Here is some info about Akama for those who like to understand a little about the wow lore.

WARNING SPOILERS!(if you get to raid black temple in the future you'll find out much of this then, so don't read any further!)

Akama is an elder sage of the Broken draenei(so regardless of his humble appearance he is one tough badass!).
He is the leader of the Ashtongue Deathsworn, a faction of Broken supposedly in the service of Illidan Stormrage(though Akama isn't really as loyal to Illidan as it first appeared).

He has been planning a scheme to destroy Illidan for years to free all of Outland. When the brave Alliance and Horde forces are finally prepared to attack Illidan deep in the Black Temple Akama will lead the attack!

Inside the Black Temple Akama and Maiev help you out throughout it. There is a thing inside Black Temple called "The Shade of Akama" this is the part of Akama's soul that keeps him serving Illidan. So once you destroy the Shade, Akama can betray his master.

Before the fight with Illidan, there is a big door. Akama is the person who opens the door using magical powers. Akama will then run inside and chat with Illidan a bit.

Not sure about any abilities that Akama has, but he has an auto ability that makes him drink a potion that heals himself to full life if his health gets too low, at least for the first stage of the fight. After stage one ends, Illidan yells "Come my Minions. Deal with this traitor as he deserves!" Akama then disappears, not to appear during the rest of the fight. He is either killing Illidan's minions, or getting his ass kicked by Illidan's minions. It isn't clear which.

58/48 and I looked and have been killed several times...there is no water and no akama there

Continue past Sanoru then turn right before the portcullis. Swim underwater through the passageway. You come up in another chamber and he is just there...kinda ugly :P
