Speculation here, as it stacks to 999, I imagine this is part of the "Collection" phase of the next legendary. I have seen people talk/speculate about tank weapon(s) being new legendaries, and I say weapons, based off what I saw where they mentioned a legendary almost like Quel'Serar, where it has different forms depending on what you are. Also, So far, all Legendary items that players have been able to get, have been weapons. At Blizzcon, I remember reading (Wish I could find the link to it) that Legendary Shield might finally make an appearance.

LOOT RULES:

1) One each raid kill (10 man not sure about 25 man)
2) Only can be picked up by someone on the quest (please confirm)
3) Is NOT on the masterloot table
4) Drops on Normal/Heroic (LFR still unknown)

*UPDATE*
We killed sha of fear on 19/11/2012 - 25 man normal.
And everyone in the raid who was on the quest was able to loot this quest item.

Must have changed with 5.1. Receieved my last sigil from the sha himself on a new lockout, requeued with the new quest and looted the chimera on that run. Back to back runs early Wednesday morning during one lockout period in Raid Finder, 11/28/12.

Confirmed. You CAN obtain the chimera of fear even if you have done the last raid before getting the quest.. You can just re-do the LFR terrace raid to get it :)

The final Legendary will be a Gem of your choice giving you +500 of your chosen stat, the Gem choices are as follows:

Agility - Crystallized Dread

Strength - Crystallized Terror

Intellect - Crystallized Horror

Each Gem is a Reward Choice from the quest Breath of the Black Prince in which upon completion will also give you:

118,000 experience

75 reputation with The Black Prince

and the Achievement Chapter I: Trial of the Black Prince

Argh! SO I just went in and did the LFR to get this item and saw loads get it so I assumed it would just dump into my bags. But no. I do have the quest for it but APPARENTLY you have to manually loot the boss to get it. I'm still hoping it'll show up in my ingame mail in a bit though :S Typical.

Picked up my final Sigil today then ran Terrace again to get the Chimera and it didn't drop so clearly one has to wait for the raid lock-out to end.

In MoP Classic, you can drop this quest and accept 疑惑之時 to simply kill 疑惑之煞 in Celestial Temple of the Jade Serpent.
