I can make these on the Realm ''Moonglade'' on HORDE side some smart Guy went out and farmed for this Recipe! i love it!

Nice to stack it with the 15+ agility enchant on gloves. AND 5% is pretty nice if you are an Melee class!

I myself hit for fire damage 2-3 times in one WSG run on my twink! /w Torey or /w Sopia on Moonglade for more info!

They are nice for low level feral druid.
Druid in cat form has got speed 1.0.
It procs one time per ~20 hits --> one time per 20 sec.
It deals average 20 dmg.
So it deals 20 dmg over 20 secs -> 1 dmg over 1 sec -> 1 DPS = +14ap.

There is no better AP leather gloves on level 20. Think about it you have a 20lvl druid alt. ;)

Rogue: best possible for 1.3 speed would be 2x Poniard https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/item=2208.
1 damage per hit means 0,77 damage per second per weapon means 1,54 dps added. For a rogue, counting only +1 AP from 1 AGI, that equals 21,54 Agility.
Pretty sick, try finding gloves that give that much AGI...

But of course, for all classes but Cat form druids, only fast weapons mean something with this. For example a Shaman with a 2.2 speed 1h mace would get 1 damage per hit means 6,4 strength.

One should note it does fire damage, unless your target has FR, which is unlikely, you should do full damage, as opposed to the ~10-45% reduction one might face normally.

Ya know, I realize these don't add much in the realm of DPS, but they do add something else that I feel is just as important... STYLE! Sure, you can just hit things, but wouldn't it be cooler if they EXPLODED once in a while? Even if it's only 5% of the time, combine this with a couple proccing weapons and a fiery enchant and you've got fireworks!

I hope ppl appreciate how hard these things are to craft. To make one set, I farmed red whelps for an hour. One solid hour for 6 scales. I also got 6 stacks of medium leather, one small flame sac, close to 4g from looting the little buggers, 4 greens, 7 medium hides, 3 light hides, and a blacksmithing pattern.

Nice gloves. Real easy to make now the red whelp scale requirement is gone. Stick an enchant gloves minor haste on them for +10 haste and I would suggest these for pallies and warriors, at level 19 the diff between mail gloves and leather ones is made up for by the increased DPS. Equip a 2 hander with iron weightstone for another +20 haste and these rock. They DO proc in cat/bear form.

I love armor that gives you added effects rather then just straight up stat boost. It seems I must commit sucide and try to get this item. (By commiting sucide I mean I am playing in a pvp server so its going to be rough to get it seems.)

These give a 5% chance to proc for an average of 20 (15 + 25 / 2) damage (before resists)... So effectively they add an average of one damage per attack (1 in 20 attacks procs for 20 damage), or less depending on FR. In my experience, they tend to proc about once per fight against things of my level.

This will be cat-spec specific (rogues can figure it out on their own, I'm sure), but for us, 1 DPS = 14 attack power, and as of the respec, in cat form +1 AGI = +1 AP and +1 STR = +2 AP. So these will increase your damage if your gloves give less than +7 STR or +5 STR and +4 AGI (the +dodge and +crit for that change is effectively negligible). In that regard, they are equivalent (as relates ONLY to DPS output) to level 27 gloves (q.v. Superior Gloves of the Tiger or Wrangler's Gloves of the Tiger), which isn't bad for an item that requires level 19 to equip...

Besides which, given the dearth of options feral druids have for attack procs, it's definitely a rather entertaining change of pace. ;)

In short, they are very good gear for about 8 levels, and entertaining as heck. I'm going to keep using them for a while.

the scales are found in wetlands in the green belt I belive, they drop from skinning from all red whelps exept lost whelps I think but they might dropfrom them too im not sure. They are very good for a rogue with fast weapons.

I got the recipe for these on a PVP server, and yes i play horde. I can sell these for at least 20 gold, probably more, still trying to figure out what people WONT'T pay for them. The 10-19 WSG twinks LOVE these, including me. Its great to see two nice white damage hits and THREE yellow damage hits, two from firey enchant, one from this. I can one shot anything but pallys and warriors, and super twinks.

Curious to see if I can sell these for 50 gold a piece. Server is Akama, BTW, and if you do WSG you prolly already know who I am.

I just don't think these gloves can stack up to Scouting Gloves of the Monkey with 4+Agi and 4+ Stamina for a 19 twink rogue, that proc is just too weak and too low of a chance, while that 4 Agi and 40 extra health will go farther IMO

Horde players, I can make these on Anub-Arak.
ps. I farmed enough scales for three gloves in less than 1 hour.

1. They do not proc off ranged weapons.
2. The proc critical
3. They sometimes proc 2x back to back, I have seen this happen 3 times now, its possible that they are actually proc off another weapon proc.
4. My druid friend says they proc in bear and cat form.
5.They do NOT suffer from the OH proc reduction.
6.Fast weapons, Slice and Dice and instant attacks all make this proc more often.

Just ran Westlands last night with my pally (37) and a guild member with his hunter (25). Got about 12 red scales (hunter skinning) in about a 1/2 an hour. He made two pairs for the twink rogues we are both making now. Our guild leader is giving us +5 AGI enchantments on them. COOL!

For a twink rogue fighting twinks these gloves are pretty bad--
most twinks have about 1000-1500 hp, if they're stamina warriors (like my friend) they may have about 2000.
So, 15-25 damage is really pretty useless. Its better to go for more hp, dodge, armor and crit chance. Therefore scouting gloves of the monkey are probably the best (4 stam, 4 agility)

I made a ton of money off these. At first I was farming for the dragons tiny red whelpling pet. I kept skinning these guys and got the scales, but didn't know what they were for. I looked them up on thottbot, found these, and got the recipe. While I was farming for the whelpling, I also made these. Each one sold for aboout 80g! I got rich, and it was right before 40. I already had some money saved up for my mount, but I neede a couple more. This totally tipped the scales, though.

First in answer the Neutral AH located in BB, Gadgzetgan as far as i know are aution houses where horde and alliance both can sell and buy items. great place to obtain "ONLY"/ faction specific items/recipes. Second, The drop on these was so bad before but farming yessterday to make a pair for a twinked out guildmate the LOST whelps were dropping this more than the red, crimson or flamesnorting wehlps.

OMFG PLEASE ENOUGH WITH THE BIG WORDS!

I'm a lv52 Gnome Warlock skinner and leatherworker. I havn't tryed to get the pattern yet but i'm getting it tomorrow. I also have a 19 twink rogue and thank God i was a noob and chose LW instead of tailoring. I am now making Deviate Scale Belt, Deviate Sclae Gloves (3 agi 3 stamina), and Deviate Scale Cloak(+2 Stam +2agi), AND in 3 days ill be makeing these fricken awsome gloves. I would say these gloves are probably the most underrated twink gear in the game.

2 high speed weapons (1.4-1.5 DPS) with Firey enchants + Red Whelp Gloves = lots of fire procs. Those who say that firey is a poor man's enchant have no room to speak when dead.

I also think that people overlook explosives and other consumables - big time.

Since they put the 5% I don't find it very useful. since it's 1/20 of the stated damage. ie 1 pt damage(averaged out). if you have 3 agi. you get 1 pt damage for rog. a +5 agi gives you 1pt damage+ crit bonus, dodge, and parry bonus. of .15% (+ armor) if you're a rog buy a normal lv 19 gloves of agi. unless you're a betting man, they're no longer as great as they seem.

I dont think they're all that great, since they dont add any agility, or to any statts for that matter, im sorry but dont the leather wearing classes revolve mostly around Agility, stamina, and Intelect? Unless you get a +15 agility enchant to them they're not that good for a twink... IMO FYI. Trust me, iv got a 19 twiked rogue with 175 agility and i was wearing these for about two WSG battles and the effect only proced 4 times 3 in the first 1 in the second, sure it did reasonable damage but i didnt get as many critts and my attack power and armor were somewhat lower so i didn't do as awesome as I do normaly, so i sold those things for the vendor priced, and i think i ripped the vendor off :)

My normal gloves are as followed:

Usaually: Scouting gloves of the monkey 4Agi 4Stam with Agility +15 to them.

Not so often: Nimble leather gloves ( I only equip them when im on low HP because of there sprit

Made these for my rogue to check them out, they proc quite often, as others have said the faster your weapons the better due to the proc being % based as opposed to procs per minute.

Be aware gouge will have a chance at procing the effect and it will break instantly.

I tested how well the proc scaled with +Spell Damage, more specifically +Fire Spell Damage.

The proc is listed as 'Firebolt' in the combat log. I did a test on WoW Vanilla with +0 added Spell Fire Damage and compared that to numbers with +124 added Spell Fire damage.

The 'Firebolt' proc does scale, as expected. Estimated by a damage difference of 52.74, the estimated damage scaling off the proc is 0.425/+1 Fire Spell Damage.

Good alternative for 19 twink (rogue or shaman mainly) and discret skin. Fit well with all "brown" gear (hat, boots, westfall tunic...)
I think it's ~3 gold of cost for create this or nothing if you farm red whelp scale yourself. Lvl 18-19 gloves cost more (10g+) on my server.
