1) Note that this is bind to account, meaning that if you have multiple casters you just leveled to 85, they can all share a sexy weapon.

I am very interested in mythology, not only our own, but fictional. That is one of the reasons I leveled Archaeology to the full skill of 525 before even going for an HC.

This staff was something worthwhile indeed. I was entrigued, lustfilled, compelled. This staff should be mine.

Being the neat mythology-monster that I am, I immediatly recognized this name. Ammunae. It felt so remeniscant. Of course I recognized the other names like Isis etc. They were all ancient Egyptian Gods. But Ammunae...

Being a devoted Stargate-fan I instantly thought of the Goa'uld Amunet (in Stargate mythology she is the Egyptian God with the same name), the "partner-in-crime" and childbearer of the God Apophis's son. Of course! Ammunae is nowhere to be found on the Wikipedia but there is Amunet. Mystery solved!

Anyhow, this is a great staff, I hope that we find what we're looking for.

Staff of Sorcerer-Thane Thaurissan is still better for moonkin (and possibly Spriests, dunno as much about them) as long as they are hit capped. Ammunae has 247 spirit, but Sorcerer has 228 haste and 34 more crit. Obviously both are pretty good, but if you're gunning for one I'd go Dwarven.

Being hit-capped is a hard target in Cata. Bliz has engineered it so that if you do go for hit-capped, you end up actually suffering in your output because you've gimped your main stats. Cata isn't like BC or Wrath (or classic) where your first priority is to become hit-capped.

I was actually thinking i359 epics are more like wrath i213 epics.

i333 = i187 (wrath)
i346 heroics = i200 heroics (wrath)
i359 epics = i213 epics (wrath)

At least that is how the item level makes it seem, and with the new system where the 10/25 man gear is the same stuff this kind of makes sense.

Personally, I'm glad Blizzard is using simpler models again, even if they're just being reused from older models. I was getting pretty sick of the BC weapons what had all the floating, glowing crystals.

Now if they'd get around to making shoulders that didn't have lightning/flame/smoke...

As a healer or a caster DPS who gets a benefit from spirit, this is perfect. Your only other nearly accessible alternative is Chelley's Staff of Dark Mending, a trash drop from Bastion of Twilight.

You gain 228 Mastery (1.27% at lvl 85) with the Chelley's Staff of Dark Mending

You gain 19 Spirit and 194 Crit (1.08% at lvl 85) with this staff.

Both are fantastic pieces for raiding. It depends on the abundance of BoT trash runs, the amount of runs of BoT your guild does or how much money you have. On the AH, Chelley's Staff of Dark Mending can range from 11-35k.

Just a thought though, the screenshot with the female Orc wearing the staff (and cloth gear). A mage or a warlock wouldn't want this staff unless they had nothing better. Spirit does absolutely nothing for a mage at all, and probably does just as little for a lock.

Ammunae, along with the other three constructs, can be found as a replica statue at the Gate of Endless Cycles between Tanaris and Uldum. Tanaris coordinates for this canyon are 23,66.

This is relevant because each construct's statue is holding a special staff unique to each one. However, Ammunae's statue's staff does not match this item's model, which is disappointing since the statue's staff seems like a more complete design and the item's model still feels like a placeholder.

Previous archaeology epics based on lvl 60, 70 and 80 epics were made useful by changing their level requirement to be significantly lower. e.g. 薩滿始祖的頭飾 , 尼弗瓦鉤斧 , 艾薩拉女王的晨衣

Is it not time this was done for the lvl 85 ones? Almost all are outclassed by Mists greens now and would never be equipped at 85

Note to transmog hunters:
This is one of few red/blue feather staves of this model. However, this is the only one which glows without any enchant. The others, listed by obtainable level, are:

熾烈天命法杖 - horde quest-reward for (lvl 21).
酋長的執行者 - possible drop from 烏克茲·沙頂 in Zul'Farrak (lvl 44).
巫毒妖術法杖 - the only BoE red/blue feather staff of this model (lvl 70).
