It's probably a good idea to upgrade to using a Gnomish Army Knife (https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/item=40772) as soon as the budding engineer has the money or mats to get one. Good way to save bag space :] Although someone first creating the Arclight Spanner probably won't have the mats for the GAK, they run relatively cheap on most servers (under 3g), and saving that extra few bag slots gives you more room for stuff to sell, paying back very quickly.

Haha, not so bad dps actually:). Walked around with Anvilmar Axe on my dwarf hunter til lvl 12, when I realised I had a spanner in one of my bags that was betterXD. Would be epic if you could dual wield them!

2.its not a melle wepon so most of ur moves like sinister strike and heroic strike dont work with this

It's not meant to be a weapon. Arclight Spanner is an essential tool that Engineers need to create a large number of items.

A warning to people who want to enchant this, the graphic won't show. I just got unholy put on mine and its not showing up.

That aside, great thing to equip if you know you're going to die, especially if you have an epic weapon with a high repair bill.

This has got to be the best weapon in the game. It's the best I've ever seen. I was doing a UBRS run with some guildies and this thing was hitting for 500 on average and criting every five hits for 10,000!

Man I'm bored.

But I have to agree with you. It's funny to be in a hand to hand brawl and then just pull out the wrench and start whacking. Reminds my of Opposing Force.

People sometimes wonder if they can enchant some items of level 33 with and item level 38, it is not possible - why?

Mongoose: Requires a level 35+ weapon, thats simple - the weapon is 2 levels too low. But how do quest items adjust? Well, by item level. Lets take Skullbreaker as an example for us..

+3 Stamina

Skullbreaker is a questreward that starts from a scroll which is looted from RFKs last boss, Charlga Razorflank. The scroll requires level 28 to be read; to start the quest. This item is attainable at 28, but its item level is 36. (item level in allakhazam reads below the median prices)

This means that it is classified as a level 36 weapon, and it is possible to put +81 healing on this, which makes it a perfect twinkmace (29 ofcourse). Some items have been nerfed because of this.. issue. Such as Windstorm Hammer - it got buffed but item level got lowered from 36 to 34 because it was too overpowered, though Crusader still works dreams.

Summary: if the item has a levelrequirement (everything else than questitems and level 1 items) it must be 35+ for this specific enchant, and if it is a questreward, it goes by item level.

(items for low level twinks: Tuxedo Jacket/Royal Dangui/Lovely Black Dress/Formal Dangui/Goblin Rocket Boots = item level 35+

I was level 8 when I hit 50 in engineering and this was the highest dps weapon I could find. If only I could conk someone from behind, a'la backstab.

*edit* it's not counted as a melee weapon so you can't use any melee skills, you can only club them with it, not very good for a rogue

Unfortunately the Gnomish Army Knife doesn't come until Lich King.

So probably need to carry the Hammer, Spanner, and Micro-Adjuster till then.
