This one seems to have a typo or a bug. Both this one and the Serpent version (Serpent version has been a caster trinket in the last expansions even now it got agi, sta and crit + on-use int! bug / typo too i believe) have more stamina than the Earthen Guardian / tanking version. Correct me if im wrong but this on also got much more stats than the other similar versions. (It got Str, Sta and Crit + on-use mastery.)

King of Boars, before the stat fix, was a competitive tanking trinket, on par with Earthen Guardian when the former had high stamina and on-use Mastery effect. It can still be considered a viable trinket for tanking threat sets however.

Use of the Trinket will (for the time of the effect) spawn a tiny Boar named Mud that will follow you around. It confused me why he was showing up from time to time. :)

HOW TO GET YOUR JEWELCRAFTING TRINKETS!

I can't tell you how or why it is bugged, or if it is not dropping as intended, but I can tell you how to get it to drop. First off go to the throne of therazane and pick up all the daily quests. Then go to the cave just south of Throne of Therazane and farm Gorged Gyreworms. Farm constantly until you get the Jewelcrafting Trinket you want.

For some reason there is a mechanic in play that you will not get your JC trinkets unless you are doing quests. I know it's a world drop and there are other mobs that will work, but I only farmed these. It took us roughly an hour or so to get our whole guild their main and off spec trinkets, but we also have a lot of jewelcrafters.

If your guild groups up to kill these, I highly recommend you only take five at a time. Remember that the drop rate is somehow linked to the daily quests, so don't chance being in a raid. We also notice if we finished the quest or had all of our quest items, that the trinkets stopped dropping. So loot quest items and throw them away. Mine the bodies for faster respawn rate.

I can also confirm that you can wear any two trinkets you want. So as a healer, I can use my owl, pop it, 20 seconds later pop my serpent cooldown. I can also confirm that you can be any spec farming these and all of them will drop for you eventually. So a ret paladin can pick up all five trinkets without respeccing.

I know there was some information floating around about level 85's not being able to grab their trinkets, but when grouped with a JC level 80-14 with 475 JC, they could see drops. I assume this is because no level 80-84's are without quests and that most 85's are in dungeons without quests.

They have fixed the issue with people that were 85 and could not get these to drop.

Confirmed fixed sometime on 12/13, guildmates started to get drops of the JC trinkets and I also received this trinket last night.

These will not drop if you do not have 475 JC'ing and the mats that you use to complete the quest give you the trinket. 6 Volatile Earth, 10 Obsidium Bars, 2 Ember Topaz.

These broken item trinkets/quests do not actually give you the recipe, they just give you the item when you complete the quest.

So here's my question. Say I have the boar, I completed the quest to fix it. Will another one drop, say the Guardian, for me to complete? Or am I screwed out of the tank trinket because I have the dps one completed?

I see people are saying they have 2 of the trinks, but no one ever says if its because they farmed the trinkets, but didn't complete them until they had all the trinks in their inventory.

The materials required seem to have changed. When I did this today, you need 2 Ember Topaz, 10 Obsidium Bars, and 6 Volitile Earth, as well as the piece itself.

*Didn't see Dekar's post up above, however, it will still drop if you don't have the materials to make it. You still need 475 JC though.

Quest item dropped for me from a 玉尖掘地者 on the first kill. Completed the quest and killed another 25+ and haven't gotten any of the other quest items.

I like this trinket, shame its mastery. But nothing reforge can't fix, plus its not that bad, just most melee love our crit. A heroic trinket could sadly replace this though...who would replace Mud?

During the Cataclysm beta this item had 197 Strength, 240 Stamina, 100 crit rating, and increased mastery rating by 500 for 20 sec when used.

It looks like the boar only comes out when i either do damage with melee or when i crit .. doesn't come out on use from what i can see. And i as well got confused as to why the boar was there and where it came from LOL.
