Not as good as Tier 8 (25) or arguably the Tier 8 (10) hood, despite the higher item level due to the budget spent on resistance and a whole lot more Spirit than it rightly should have. It seems nostalgia on crappy itemization trumped practicality, and thus this hood won't be worn for use in competitive play for people in the middle of or above progression.

So basically, you might as well have the T2 knockoff helm since you'll most likely use it for looks alone. Pity :(

I can go on and on for reasons why I like but there is a few to spark up positive thinking.
Maybe some one that is awesome at math can pipe in with some pretty numbers for all of us ?

Dropped tonight for my horde warlock. As I was the only lock in the group I got it.

I could NOT be happier. Brings back the old memories from years ago doing Ony in pre-BC with my now retired alliance lock..and the feeling of being in some tier 1 / ZG epics...and getting the tier 2 helm. Oh the memories!

this helm vs 4 set 8.5, 4 set imo wins, first off its a loss of 40 crit rating, and 5% crit to shadowbolt/incinerate. the red socket is nice but the socket bonus is meh. also the helm doesnt look good at all with 8.5 gear. blizz should have made a diff model and made it a 5 set instead of adding epic gear in reg tochampion and uld25 comparable at that.

there is no set (let alone set) bonus for nemesis gear, looks the same and doesnt go with conqueror gear, crit rating is low(er), no hit rating and it still has resistance stats on it which shows how lazy blizz has become. with that being said i really only use this helm for affliction for its extra sp until i get my t8/8.5 shoulders. think its pretty fugly too.

I tried to come up with a unique set using this headpiece without wearing a robe, because I got bored of those and I finally created one. It's not the best set but it's not bad looking, especially if you can't convince the other T2 pieces to drop, but still want to use this item for Transmog.

I used:

IMO the PvP shoulders and belt are a very good match for this headpiece, because they have skulls on them surrounded by subtle green flames.
Also, I wanted to keep the purple+green color combination of the original set, just because I like it a lot.

As a weapon I like using the Boundless Agony dagger, because it has the same skull+green flame theme going on.
