Dont know from what class perspective you are talk from but as a Tankadin, BR and BV on one item is fantastic. You cant avoid every hit so you have to consider migrating the rest. A pally tank will be at about 50% block BR with Holy Shield up, so these can help to its 102.4% cap and take the edge of hits. Not to mention the boost in threat through Shield of Righteousness

With no deminitioning returns and the proposed 50% buff to BV on all non shield items in 3.2 these become even more viable.

It's perfectly reasonable for a Protection Paladin to reach 102.4% in Wrath, in fact it's advisable after you reach uncrittable (540 defense but ensure you've actually got 689 defense rating at a minimum) to strive for at least 28K health unbuffed then start working on your block cap.

You have to remember that Protection Paladins are the only tank class that can stay block capped 100% of the time thanks to the nature of Holy Shield. Even Patchwerk when he frenzies and hit's faster doesn't use all eight charges before Holy Shields cooldown is up.

After you are Uncrittable, you should start working towards the The Block Cap. This may be a new concept for Paladin tanks, but it really isn't. The Block Cap is what used to be known as Uncrushable, i.e. a combined Miss, Parry, Dodge, and Block of 102.5%. Once you reach that point, any additional Block Rating falls off the table. You are 'capped' on the amount of Block you can have.

Tough call for me if I should get these or not...

Currently have https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/item=40547 on my warrior, Valorous Dreadnaught Legguards. They've got parry and dodge where this has block rating and value. My warrior has around 35k hp and 26dodge and 20parry on the character sheet. My block is something like 15% and just over 1000 block value.

Basically Losing a good chunk of avoidance for some mitigation and around 20 stamina...

Really wish these would be itemized sightly different, I'm not even sure how, just something different. Of course, I don't raid all too often with my warrior in 25 mans, I do enjoy 10mans though and that's where I figure the block value would be of the most use.

At least the block value buff helped out a little bit with mitigation...still not so keen on block though.

Is it just me or did they not compensate on these when Block stats were removed? These seem... REALLY... Underbudget now, especially when compared to the other iLvl 226 legs.
