Seems Archy spent the night and forgot to take his pants...he rushed into the Uldaman portal after being scared by Yogg-Saron. That...or Yogg caught them in the act then took control of Archadeas' gf...he was probably like "I'm bouncing, hope everything goes well beau, call me."

Anyways, on to the pants, my pally hit 80 recently and the expertise on these is beyond great. Also yellow = d rating gem so in case your under cap :D Great item overall.

These really are an excellent upgrade. I have them equipped to my prot pally and i'm still at 558 def even after geming them for expertise/hit, and health stayed almost the same from the T7.5 legs.

Whats nice is they add nearly 2% dodge and a lil over 1% parry, or more if you aren't getting slammed by DR yet. What's really nice is the Expertise. It is one major piece that will help you hit the parry cap of 57 and avoid all those damage spikes from melee haste.

If you see em, take em. If you can't use them now you're gonna love em later.

With the boatload of Expertise, Dodge, and Parry, these pants are the best for avoidance tanks in the game. Me being a prot warrior, have looked into getting these pants for a very long time, and have finally gotten them. Sheild block rating/value is utter poop right now, well at least for tanking in Ulduar, ( a 14k hit is not much better than a 15k hit imo) so these pants are great in that sense. If you are a good tank then you would never have let these pants get away for a dang Void crystal......... The only true upgrade for these would be the ones that drop from Algalon, that 65 dodge and 52 parry translates into a crap load of avoidance, pair that with the expertise and you got a sweet set of pants. I am going to be getting the helm off of Freya 10, which in terms of avoidance is the next best thing to the one that drops from General Vezzax 25. It seem to me that Blizz has made Wrath tanking a high avoidance/stam race, and with it being as such, these pants should be top priority for any good tank.

My stats right now that compensate these are, 32k health, and 540 defense, I only have a few Defense/Stam gems in my gear and only my chest and back are enchanted with Defense.

these, like holy paladin gear, seem to have a 500% chance to drop >.>
while the avoidance is awesome, having to reshuffle your gear for defense is still annoying

Upgrade to Dragon Brood Legguards if you are at defense minimum and can maintain decent hit rating after equipping.

without useing gargoyle rune or thadius's defense trinket it is easy for a dk to become defense capped I am looking forward to getting these will prolly drop my emblem trinket for thads trinket and keep the swordshattering on my weap for the extra avoid cause even with 30k hp gargoyle is only adding 500 hp which doesnt seem worth dopping 4% avoidance dk maybe the only class that will have easy time staying capped while not gemming a ton of defense

Am I the only one who thinks that the Legguards of Abandoned Fealty, https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/item=47171 at iLevel 200 beat or close to beat these?

The 60 defense rating you gain even after the defense cap adds more parry, dodge and chance to miss than the pure parry you gain from these leggings. Other than that, it also helps alleviate a DKs need for defense, and reliance on stoneskin gargoyle, possibly allowing him to go into swordshattering for even more parry rating.

You do gain a very slight amount of expertise, a fair chunk of strength and stamina, but it doesn't feel worth getting these if you got the abandoned fealty, even if you might be above the defense cap, especially as a DK.
