Looking at the low budget reagents (srsly guys 2 gems and 10 bars?) and taking into account that u learn the scope from a trainer i'd say there will be a better scope schematic dropping of some bad ass 10player instanz boss or youll get it from a special mob (of which only 5-15 exist in the whole game with a quite long respawn timer and a dropchance of 0.0000001% ^^)

I just attach this Heartseaker scope to a lvl57 crossbow using my lvl70 toon and it didn't become soulbound so I was able to trade it to my 59 twink hunter. Perhaps you could even attach it to something lower than 57 using a 70 toon. Based on these results, I think you might be able to attach the Sun Scope to a <70 item as well. The Diamond-cut Refractor Scope (+15 dmg) wont attach to a <70 item though, already tried.

I wonder if I can put this on my Charmed Ancient Bone Bow, send it to my hunter alt and have some imba weapon until lvl80 for him. 40 crit rating on lvl 5 is a bit much - but if it works - why not.

I have this on my Nesingwary 400, and just noticed there is a strange eye on the end of the gun. Do scopes have graphics (there own 'glow') now or is this part of the gun design? or did scopes always have graphics and I never noticed.

As of patch 3.1.2, this scope now requires the user to be level 70 in order for it to be active on your weapon. Time to find a new scope for my hunter's heirloom bow! Sad, but not completely unexpected.

With the new epic gems, I believe this is a more cost effective way to level engineering from 430-450 than Gnomish Army Knife. The price of twilight opal on my realm is around 6g each and a stack of saronite ore is 13g or so - giving the total cost to make one ~25g. I can sell these on the AH for 35-40g while a Gnomish Army Knife sells for about 2g and uses the same amount of saronite ores.

Confirmed (as of Patch 3.3.2) you *can* still apply this scope to a Heirloom item. However two caveats remain:

1. You must be Lv70 to actually put it on your weapon.
2. It doesn't "activate" until your own level is 70.

Naturally, as it's an Heirloom Item it doesn't get Soulbound if you use the scope on it. It's still mailable between Alts.

It does say "Requires Level 70" in the tooltip.

In order to receive the benefits of the enchant it is now a requirement.

It's been quite a while with no new enchants to hunter weapons. Is there going to be a level 80 scope?

Just a note.... Now that 'modern' enchants can be applied to older gear with the caveat that it does scale down the benefit some, this is (imho) the best scope for hunter twinks at least through the 19 bracket. 30 crit 'always on' is an insane boost to your burst and continuous dps (it's 30 crit whether you're level 1 or 60 or anywhere in between).
