Can someone explain to me why our T7 is packed full of HASTE? It's one of the lowest priority stats for Retribution. The Death Knight T7.25 headpiece, Valorous Scourgeborne Helmet has WAY better itemization for a similar dps role.

Is the haste only there to speed up spell casting in a "hybrid" role?

Terribly itemized piece, really hate bliz forces pally to wear worse gear then naxx25 drops or even crafted titansteel helm just to get set bonus. Same story with leggings :/

Out of curiousity, instead of looking at EJ's "Theorycrafting", have any of you looked at any WWS parses to see where Retribution's top damaging attacks come from?
Here, I'll share with you the normal order of damaging attacks:
Judgement of Martyr/Blood
Swing (yes, that's a white attack)
Seal of Martyr/Blood
Crusader Strike - normally around fourth or fifth.

See where I'm going with this? The faster you hit with your weapon, the more damage you do.
I'm not saying Haste has high priority, but saying a gear piece sucks because it has a fair amount of haste on it - almost 3% - you're joking, right? There has to be an amount of haste you people can look at getting.
Somewhere around 10% isn't bad. Provided you've got a decent amount of unbuffed AP. (3k should not be a problem, with a potential of 3500 or more and around 33% crit)
What do you want put on it? Expertise? I'm not seeing the need for more than about 15-20, personally. The rest of your gear should easily net you 7-8% hit with draenei or 8-9% hit without.
Your other gear can easily contain the crit you don't get from this piece.

Good lord you people whine a lot, what would you like Bliz to do? Put Crit/hit/str on EVERY paladin set peice? While they're at it, they should add agi, int and give us a 2 peice set bonus of being able to 1 shot any mob that gets in melee range. Course you'd probably whine about that not being good enough to right? Geeze people, bliz isn't going to dole out a bunch of stat loaded gear for us just to come in and walk thru every dungeon....they're giving us a few stats, then let us build our own set of gear, gem and enchant it to make it have the stats we want most. In order to make it challenging, they're going to put some stats on one piece, and different stats on other peices, that way we have to 'work' to get the kind of gear/stats we want. Otherwise they might as well give us a million to every stat on every peice of gear and reduce all bosses health to 100hp.

Does SoB scale with haste, so IMO that would be good for a paladin who uses SoB. You are using Sob right?

So to give a little rough example as to why haste is so good for seal of blood.

Lets say you’re using a regular old 3.8 speed weapon with Seal of Blood. You hit with every attack for exactly 1000 white and then 350 yellow.

Example 1: No Haste
Swing Timer: 3.8 seconds
White Attack: 1000
Seal of Blood: 350
DPS: 355.26

Now lets say you get a 150 passive haste rating on new gear (~10% increased attack speed). Your weapon speed now drops dramatically while the damage output remains the same.

Example 2: 10% haste
Swing Timer: 3.42 seconds
White Attack: 1000
Seal of Blood: 350
DPS: 394.74

As you can see, that 10% haste increased your DPS fairly dramatically. It is quite possible to get a very slow weapon (such as TotD) down to a very quick attack speed if you gear correctly. You will be keeping the very high topend damage of a slow weapon, yet hitting very quickly. Thanks to Seal of Blood’s amazing mechanics, its damage scales very well with haste rating.

And just to give a very extreme example, lets say you popped a Haste Potion with all your passive haste gear on. You now have a total of 550 haste rating, which works out to about a 35% attack speed increase.

Example 3: Haste Potion + Haste Gear
Swing Timer: 2.47 seconds
White Attack: 1000
Seal of Blood: 350
DPS: 546.56

Yes, haste can be very nice for Seal of Blood.

Seal of Command (casino) does not scale with haste rating at all because it’s procs are based on a per minute scale. This is one of the main reason’s so many Aliance paladins are asking for Seal of Blood in PVE.

Well, I got this on a 25 man Naxx run. I really don't like the itemization on this helmet (although if you look at your damage logs, your main attack/command proc is quite high on it, so there is an argument to be made for Haste. In any regard, I actually replaced my Spiked Titansteel helm with this for one reason: the four-piece set bonus. Reducing judgment to seven seconds yields a tremendous increase in DPS and mana regen rate.
