All comments seem to point to this being a good prot spec gloves. Unfortunately it is part of the dps set which really shows how misbudgeted this item is. The expertise is good but less stam and more crit would make this much better. As is, the crude discolored battlegrips is much better and there are alot of leather/mail items better as well.

These gloves are incorrectly being labelled as terrible when compared to the Crude Discolored Battlegrips. This set-piece is in fact very useful in getting yourself closer to the expertise cap, a feat not many plate items at the moment help accomplish. The fact stands, though, that these are simply inferior to the Frosted Adroit Handguards, but don't let me be the judge, have a look at this comparison of the top DPS gloves.

For some odd reason, the legs, chest and gloves in this set look identical to the Level 85 Warrior Honor PvP Gear.
