The comments on which tanking class this cloak is best for and who should have priority on it are not helpful. The stats on this cloak are generic enough for it to be useful to all four tanking classes, and anyone who would try to claim priority on a roll based on their class does not know what they're talking about.

I'm also thoroughly confused by the people saying that a druid would want agility on a tanking cloak instead of this. Maybe in theory, but look around: there are no epic or rare-quality tank cloaks in WotLK which grant agility. Beggars can't be choosers, and this cloak is a good option for druid tanks because of the armor bonus (see Corveroth's comment above). If you're a druid tank who wants agility on a cloak, you'll have to socket for agility or use a DPS cloak.

Now then: I took this cloak for my Death Knight because the other tank did not want it and I hastily assumed that it would be better than what I had since it was purple. Upon comparison to what I had (Cloak of Peaceful Resolutions) I found that it gave:

+346 Armor
+8 Strength
-14 Stamina
-6 Defense Rating
+3 Hit Rating

I was rather disappointed. Really more of a sidegrade then an upgrade, so consider that if you're thinking of picking up this item. You'll be trading stamina and defense for armor.

I agree, Cloak of Peaceful Resolutions is probably better in the big picture - but I need the armor at the moment and it is nice to have that option.

This dropped in Naxx last night, it was a hard decision but i passed on it to the warrior (im a dk). My def is balanced perfectly, sitting right on 540 atm, so i would have lost more than 14 sta, i would have lost 12 more so i could socket for the lost defense. This is definitely a side-grade with the way theyre making us balance nowadays. I would almost say this is a down-grade for DK tanks, we have fewer options than others so should take what we can get. This will probably all go away with the upcoming patch though.

I would imagine this is an unintended consequence, a naxx 10 epic being passed for a 78 blue?

My guess is that armor rating has a high ilvl value, which is why it appears that this cloak is only comparable to a level 78 blue.
