Moonkins rely more heavily on crit chance than on haste. If you look at the moonkin talent tree, you can see alot of factors that rely on crit. Crits proc Eclipse, Nature's Grace, and the Moonkin Form mana regen. The talent Vengeance also doubles the damage you do when a balance spell crits which is more than enough reasons to stack crit instead of haste as a moonkin. Putting haste on almost all of the Northrend items is a huge mistake that I hope Blizzard will soon fix in the future.

Even if crit is a well-looking stat, specialy for those Moonkins who have suffered the oomkin issues from long ago, Haste is more promising for a raw DPS matter. While Crit improves your dmg, Haste makes your dmg cycles shorter, allowing more space for another cast, and putting more dmg in the same time.

With enough haste, the Eclipse buff can be better spent, you can put 1 or 2 more casts in each buff, increasing the dmg done with the buff greatly. But it is up to you, whenever you want more DPS or be a long lasting caster, one who can cast even if the healers get oom.

If you want to be a competitive DPS, dont think about lasting longer, a good raid team will not give a chance to the boss, and commonly will bring it down in less than 4 minutes. Haste can be far more useful in DPS-race fights (Loatheb, Patchwerk). Or also can be useful in fights where you need to move constantly (Sartharion, Sapphiron, Kel'thuzad...). It is very likely to see fights like this in the next Raid contents (Ulduar and Icecrown).

As haste increases, Starfire becomes even better for dmg nuke. If it was already good without so much haste rating in the gear, think now.

I was lucky enough to have these drop last night. I was the tank (Pally) and our healer (druid) already had them, so I grabbed them for my healer set as a fill in piece.

I was wondering why these are unique? Being unique means that since I already had a pair, I couldn't roll on them and D/E them for our group, meaning someone else had to vendor it. A quick glance through other epic drops from heroics seems to suggest this is not the norm:

Mail Girdle of the Audient Earth is the only other.

its probably so you cannot have 2 pairs, one for healing, one for DPS, not sure why they'd do that, Trial-Fire Trousers were great to have multiples of, one for DPS and one for your stam set.

Hmm. Can I ask opinions please - are these healadin legs as much as boomkin legs? I'm a boomkin and lost the roll to a healadin, just trying to get a better understanding of the need to roll.
