This item is very similar to the Felstone Bulwark (https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/item=32255) which is dropped by Supremus in Black Temple. By choosing this shield over the Felstone Bulwark you would gain the following:

+ 611 Armor
+21 Block Value
+14 Intellect
-4 Critical Strike Rating
-4 Spell Power

The differences between the two shields is hardly noticeable and is a probably a sidegrade at best.

As a raiding holy paladin, I consider this my first step of having top raid gear until you're able to upgrade to the Protective Barrier of the Light for 35 Emblems of Heroism, the Shield of Assimilation and/or then to the Voice of Reason.

For leveling a raiding ele/resto shaman or holy pally, it would seem that this would be a great choice for levels 74-78, until a few levels later, when you can get Tor's Crest from Utgarde Pinnacle.

Currently, the best enchant would be +25 Int.

well it's obviously not a tanking shield... so i don't think the hole is going to make much of a difference... possibly to help aiming the heals at the tank? like a sight or something on a gun

I put this baby on at level 74, and used it all the way until I had enough Triumphs to pick up the .

It was a fantastic shield for a holy pally using the random dungeon finder to level.
