Haste is a straight up percentage increase to your white damage. Therefore, it becomes better if the rest of your gear is better, or if you are raid buffed.

For hunters haste also affects steady shot, so really good for hunters as long as you don't go any faster then 1.6sec auto shot or so. Too fast and you get in global cooldown issues.

Oddly this cloak has the same stats before upgrade as it does after upgrade, not even armor is changed. Seems to be a bug.

If you can get this cloak for just 200g, buy it. It's one of the best DPS cloaks in the game. The 2.49% of haste is a flat 2.49% boost to your "white" DPS.

Can't believe the avg buyout is just 200g... I'd rate it up there with the Depleted Badge, which I sold the other week for 1900g.

I bought this cape for 49g on my server, after reading this I thought I'd found a great bargain on what looked like an awesome DPS cape, which, for some reason (maybe coz I was tired at 2:20am), I thought was better than what I had...

Problem is, I already had the Delicate Green Poncho (https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/item=28032) which turned out, despite the improved haste, to do only 2 DPS less but it also has more Stam and the additional hit rating...

Overall, this cape is NOT worth investing in, just hit Nagrand and do the Bring me the Egg! quest (https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/quest=10111) instead...

I'm now stuck with a cape that's little more than useless and am down some 50g...

For a DW/Fury Warrior tho, this cloak is amazing. Flurry + Abacus of Violent Odds + anything with passive haste = a mess of dead stuff. Since passive haste is so rare outside of Black Temple drops, its worth the trade in strength/hit/crit or anything else that is readily available in gems.

Picked it up for 100g which I felt was a bargain, and traded in my Nomad's Woven Cloak for it. Again, passive haste is too rare to pass up, and most of the stats lost between it and the Nomad's can be made up in gems/enchants.

About the price, I sold it for 250g on AH... I have no clue how good or bad it really is, opinions vary a lot on haste rating, since it's such a new stat... So 250g seemed like a nice price for a could-be-shit/could-be-brilliant item and the buyer must have thought the same thing

Just to put it into perspective for those who are knocking this cape - if you have 300 DPS (my hunter's before I got this) then 2.57% haste will increase your DPS by 7.71 - that's the same as 108 attack power. If you can find another cape that can give you 108 attack power, AND bring you closer to that 1.7 shot rotation time (for hunters) then go for it, but I haven't found anything yet (oh, and that's not including the 1.93 DPS you get from this with a +12 agility enchant on it) Oh, and I paid only 125g for it, a steal imho.

Just a little more info on the point Chriscc raised.

For BM spec hunters, the lower speed limit is not usually the GCD, but the hasted Steady Shot Cast speed + the "hidden" 0.5 second Autoshot cast time.

i.e. Hasted Steady Shot cast time = 1.5/1.2/1.15= 1.08 Secs.

Plus 0.5 Second Autoshot = 1.68 Secs. I would say it is close to impossible to run a rotation of 1.7 sec. You will clip autoshot.

Give yourself at least a 0.1 secs window, preferably 0.2 secs as we all have lag, and you will find that the optimum hasted bow speed is around 1.88 secs. Or 2.6 speed non hasted.

Its a "short" cloak so many are probably not going to be showing it (myself included)

As of patch 2.3 this is easily replaced by Cloak of Fiends from the first chest in the Zul'Aman timed event.

I got this after 'using' a Depleted Cloak, which consumed 50 Apexis shards. Sadly I was just trying to put on the Depleted to check the stat changes as it already showed these same stats for me.

26 haste rating in itself isn't that impressive,

but the point of haste rating is to build it up..

this cape, plus the 2piece bonus of the rogue assassination set, gives you 6 seconds of 186 haste rating when opening with cheap shot.. which turns a 2.6 main-hand weapon into a 2.2 speed main-hand weapon (no, i didn't do the math, but that's roughly right) for that six seconds.

it does add up, and quicker than you might think..

This will just increase white damage by 2.5% for most classes, but warriors and druids in bear form will get increased rage generation from damage dealt which will help overall dps in addition to regular melee hits.

If it increases melee damage by 2.5%, then it's just as good as 5% crit not affected by talents or resilience. Stacked or not.

Since the melee haste mechanic is multiplicative, when this item is used in conjunction with multiple other haste items and/or abilities it can yield a significantly higher overall dps than seen at first glance. The same cannot be said for adding +crit, since that will yield a linear dps increase.

If you have 3 items and/or abilities that add +crit, and 3 items that add equivalent dps +haste, when those sets of items are combined, +haste will yield superior total dps. Which is why, generally speaking, there aren't loads of +haste items floating around.

This is a pretty good cape IMO. plus it stacks with all other haste rating item (many are common in the new 10 man raid ZA) Also this is the only cloak to have any haste rating. So if some one is more worried about haste than stats this could be better than some epics.

So you can either buy the Crystalweave Cape or Depleted Cloak from the auction house, or look at where the depleted cloak drops & farm there. :)

Totally misleading :(

I already thought it was a pretty good cape when I just had it drop and then I read the upgrade part and I was thinking "Oh cool this probably turns into a badass epic with alot of haste"

Nope, just infuse it to use it? So disappointing. Still nice cloak none the less, I'll send it to my rogue.
