The Equip part of this (not including the built in armor/agi/stat) gives the pet the equivalent of the hunter having roughly:

173 Stamina
1400 Armor
318 Ranged Attack Power

Additionally, the regular armor/agi/sta adds roughly the following to your pet:

13 Stamina
217 Armor
10 Attack Power

Therefore, these add to your pet a total of approximately:

80 Attack Power
65 Stamina
707 Armor

These might be handy for reasons stated above as a BM hunter, but it might even be more interesting to use them if you are NOT a BM build since it gives great buffs to your pet without having to put any talents in the BM tree.

I'm a marksman hunter but I use these when soloing or if I'm doing a group quest that requires my pet to be tanking (i.e. there's no pally, warrior or feral druid in the group to do the tanking.) They help give my pet a little more survivability and dps so I don't have to be healing and resurrecting it as much, if at all.

As my BM hunter alt, I could take these pants, add in that recently I learned that there is a way to boost Spirit Bond healing through certain gear, and you have possibly an unstoppable farming machine. A pet which would be boosted further beyond the Giantstalker set, and a spirit bond which would keep pet and hunter going.

I could definitely put these pants to use, you MM hunters have keep calling them useless to drive the desire for them down, thank you!

I just bought these for 500G and look at behold, they are bugged. The armor doesn't get added to the pet and when talking to a GM they said that the dev-team is aware of the issue and it will be fixed as soon as possible.

In 2.1 they did add the +30 Agi, +45 Stam, and these are doing pretty good for my BM Hunter. It's help make my pet stronger when off tanking in Tempest Keep and such. Worth getting :D

The post i made beyond for a BM hunter is a raiding one on 25s instances who acts as a very good dpser, we all hunters know that BM specc is the best raiding if the pet can stay alive , else just 4 sec rez, fd feed it, and now my question is. 50ap/12cri or 40sta/12agi? (ofc u can put the lowers but if u wanna push the limits before 2/5 t5 which will heal ur pet) note* my pet when im raiding (ssc/tk) doesnt have growl cause usually a dps warrior/rogue/feral druid having that "job" to tank an add for example and therefore at my cat i can use: Bite / Claw / Dash or Prowl / Avoidance (dash 3 (80%) is very good when u want to get it fast back to u ie before an aoe explosion or so). So for a 42/19 hunter: sta/agi or ap/crit?

Just slam these bad boys on the AH without a B/O price so people can see them and whisper you if they are interested. Pull them out and up the price by 100 or 200 and you will probably get yourself a deal.

Also, luckily, your target buyer will most likely be stacked with gold since

a) he is a gold farmer
b) he's a BM hunter, so just ask him to farm the gold if he doesn't have it already (doubtful)

Brought this on Burning Blade server for 400 gold a few weeks ago. I used this for daily, farming, and any time where I needed extra stam boost on pet and myself. I put a Nethercleft Armor kit on the leggings, and now I can't depart away from it. With 11k armor, 8k life, and decent dps, my pet can maintain aggro while tanking, and i can easily solo any 3man quest by myself.

If you're a hunter and you see this on trade or ah, get it! You won't regret it because it's the best legging possible for soloing. It doesn't matter what spec you are. It's well worth it.

Bought out for 1k within 24 hours, just like the site says (Sen'Jin Realm). Having never played a hunter I was surprised to see them move so easily. The greedy side of me wishes I had posted them higher but the side of me that need to eventually equip one of his 70's with an epic flier is very happy.. :D

On Moon Guard, an RP PvE server, these are selling for 1500g to 2000g. Rediculous price if you ask me considering these leggings are geared towards PVE content, not raiding or otherwise.

As a BM Hunter primarily, I would love to find a pair of these off a kill! Would I pay for them? Never.

Buy Out price on WoWhead is a fake. These leggings are much more expensive. I can say only the best things on this legs with my hunter (Alt.). Do not sell them under 2500g or you are stupid.

I decided to make a list for the hunters that like directly buffing their pets much as possible.

Beastmaster's Tunic: Particularly powerful bonus for pet tanking.
Beastmaster's Gloves
Beastmaster's Cap: This will probably translate to more health than any other helm, although it depends on gear.
Beastmaster's Boots
Beast-tamer's Shoulders
Leggings of Beast Mastery: Best pet legs in-game.
Devilsaur Tooth Thanks to Teridom.
Trappings of the Unseen Path: 3-piece bonus.
Dragonstalker Armor: 5-piece bonus.
Giantstalker Armor: 3-piece and 5-piece bonuses.
Rift Stalker Armor: 2-piece bonus. Vital for keeping your pet healthy in the absence of healers. Thanks to Cerberus.

Wearing all these is obviously impossible, so you'll have to weigh and choose which to wear. Also don't forget that your pet scales with your stats and that wearing low level pieces might reduce the power of your pet in spite of the specific pet bonuses. But wearing some of them, especially the stronger ones, will be worth it for maxing out your pet, if not you.

as of 4.0.3a the item is bugged and gives no bonus to your pet at all. i compared it to a pair of merciless gladiator's pants and ended up with weaker all around stats for the pet.i should have 520 hp more on the pet. not 900 less.

This item is ridiculous. It's a downgrade from lower lvl items of lesser quality like for instance the Scales of the Beast. As a lvl 70 epic it should really be buffed in one way or another, maybe applying it's benefits to both the hunter & the pet?

Nice drop to do exactly as people have said, it helps the pet off-tank, but that's really about all the use I found for them. I might swap them back in when i get closer to the full set of Beast Lord armor, but for now, the Beast Lord cooldown bonus on traps outweighs the plus from running around with these pants.

This is quite possibly the most useless epic I have ever seen. Even in a pet off-tanking situation, the benefits are marginal, at best, because the buffs from the hunter's stats at least benefit both the pet and the hunter.

Even if I were BM, I'd refuse to wear these. Plus, being broken doesn't help.

Sadly, these pants are broken. I got ahold of them, and as a BM spec'd hunter, I was obviously pretty excited. The instant I equipped them and checked stats, I was dissapointed. My pet gained less than 100 armor. Of course, I looked at the stats on my previous leggings to see if maybe they just had WAY more armor... however... when changing from Scale Leggings of the Skirmisher to those, I noticed that the pet armor did not change as was promised. Scale Leggings had about 500 armor after stats... which should have given my pet about 175-200 armor total, whereas these should have given my pet about 500-600 armor. (350 armor from the gear bonus, and about 250-300 from the armor boost from the 593 armor on the leggings themselves.)

Now, Im not really mad about that, because, in fact, my damage totals went up with these on... not counting crits.

Think about this here... my original leggings gave me about the same amount of AP as my pet. In fact, when I equip the epic leggings. I myself (the hunter) lose 12 damage to both bottom and top end damage on a 2.03 attack speed (Using a Valanos Longbow), and my pet gains 13 damage to both bottom and top end damage with an attack speed of 1.69, and my pet naturally has a higher crit rate than me, with frenzy, that will decrease its attack speed to 1.27 (or so), giving it approximately a 23 damage per second bonus above me, however I myself lose crit rate. But, seeing as I only crit once in a blue moon anyways, I dont really mind, Also to note, I BELIEVE (and this is pure assumption), that the hunters talent that increases damage from critical hits also increases damage from pet crits. I figure this because my pets lowend whites on a clothie are about 250, but lowend crits are about 600. Oh, and btw, Kill Command=Best Attack Skill possible for a BM hunt. (My pet gets about.... 800 damage Kill Command Crits on squishies) (spec=41 BM/20 MM)

It's definitely a situational piece of gear. You might put these on if you're trying to have your pet tank an instance, or offtank a boss add. With a Clefthide Leg Armor on them, they'd be killer for that.

Take into account all your stats that would go to your pet on your former armor first like ac and stam and all that. And then minus that frm these leggings and you really dont get much As for the first poster, thats what you get for buying all kinda of boes and expecting it to be better. Ive stayed away frm alot of the boe blues because we havent seen all the gear out there yet, and so far the gear coming out of isnatnces if by far better and really not that hard to get. This thing atm is being spammed for 3 to 500 g if that helps anyone. Id stay away from them tho, the stam is nice but thats it.This item should be a level 60 blue or something.

Feel free to ignore all the old comments about these legs. They received a major buff in the 2.1 patch which added the Agility and Stamina stats. They are now rather good.

There is no question about something here: This are for a Beast Master Hunter, a waste of time and money for any other class or spec.

Also, this are for PvE Solo or Instances use, there are better legs when it comes to PvP or even Raiding.

With that said, the stats that this item improves are things that PvE BM Hunters have little use for (Other then the AP, that is)

So the real use of this legs is to improve your pet.

And yes! We do give AP, Stamina and Armor to our pets based on our own, but to boost our pets for that much we would need leggings with something like:

319 Atack Power
117 Stamina
1593 Armor (1000 Armor + 593 that this already comes with)

In essence: This are AWESOME leggings to PvE with your Beast Master Hunter.

As for who drops them: I'm sure this are a random world drop.

I am mostly wearing epics from Karazhan and gruul's, as well as some of the Beast Lord crap too.

With these legs, I put out 5.2dps LESS, my pet gains about 11dps.

I myself don't notice the 5dps I lose, but you REALLY notice the 11dps your pet gains.

Btw, these pants are currently bugged...and not giving the +350 armor.

In case you didn't realize, these beauties got a buff, along with a lot of lvl 70 epics. New stats are as follows:

Leggings of Beast Mastery
Armor: 621
30 Agility
45 Stamina
Pet's AP: 70
Pets's Armor: 350
Pet's Stamina: 75

The buffs to the pet have been fixed, and now properly apply. Now that there's some Agi and Stam, they're are nice leggings. Those of you who kept your's and those lucky enough (like me) to have bought these for the 75g they were averaging (on Dunemaul horde side) at the time, got a great deal. Awesome legs, great boost to pet and semi-decent stats to last us till Tier 4 and possibly(big maybe depending on how your other gear is) the legs that drop in Kara, though it's a tough call and honestly I haven't looked over the stats to compare yet (no flames needed).

These leggings are great for a beast masters, top off with cobra hide armor and these can be one the best leggings for a beast master. The stats for the pet more then make up for the loss of stats to you, and the +agi and +stam help to make that up. Anyone who doesn't see the difference the ap and stam make for your pet needs to respec MM/surv and try and stay happy as they struggle to keep up with us BM spec hunters in raids...

Btw: I know it's way late, but to the far above post stating "I don't who would pull out a pet in a raid..." You either have no idea what you're talking about or have no idea how to play a hunter. I use my pet in every raid, and he always helps. In kara he dishes out damage and put's me atop every other class (except for the mages when they get to area effect) and holds agro against the best of them. When our warrior gets charmed or feared on a pull, my pet holds em long enough till he can grab em. More armor then anyone but the tank and more agro then the best of mages, pet even draw's 2nd on Moroes' agro list to catch blind, and keeps it off our off tank in the fight. In gruuls he dishes out damage up to 400+ dps with kill command crits topping 1k. No pet in raids? You're either marksman, survival or @#$%^&ed. Marks and survival pets can't hang, and usually they don't know how to use pets in a raid. If you know your class and roll BM spec, stack resists, use avoidence, armor, and ect, the way you should, your pet will out last the hardiest of memebers in the raid, and in the event your pet does drop, it's because he took the blows that would've dropped the mage or priest he was keeping agro from. In any event, as BM spec, it's less then 8 seconds to full health and another 400+ dps.

Learn2Play your class before you make &*!@#$ed comments that might discourge new player to the BM raid spec.

I have these leggings, but I'm not currently using them although I'm a BM spec hunter. Here are the reasons:
- My pet doesn't usually die before I do. If it does, I'm in a biiig trouble anyway. Thus the stamina & armor buff are nice, but not essential.
- I'm using beast lord leggings, which provide a nice AP bonus for me and 7 mp/5 sec too, and a set bonus which decreases the trap cooldown by 4 secs.
- This item doesn't improve the spell damage of pets.

Someone said that his pet is always second on the aggro list on raids. In practice this means that the pet is growling. I haven't raided, but I wouldn't keep my pet growling in instances. If the tank makes just a small mistake, a growling pet easily takes the aggro, and even the best pets have less armor and health than a tank.

My current plan is to put a clefthide leg armor on them and use them in PVP. My pet definitely needs maximum survivality in battlegrounds, and +45 stamina is nice for me too.

well u r definitely wrong in ur statement that BM is a spec that is for experienced palyers, BM is not hard at all MM and survival are actually a lot harder, the main reason being the rotation of shots necessary to put out decent DPS and the threading of your shots. BM is quite easy, your primary shots used are gonna be auto and weaving ur steady shots in there. I got the I WIN macro for BM hunter so all i gotta do is spam 1 button the whole raid to thread my steady shots perfectly with my auto shots and also cast kill command whenever it pops up. all i gotta worry about is keeping my pet alive, and how simple is that cast the insane HoT on him and just pull him out whenever he gets dangerously low. BM is by far the easiest spec to master. i been playing a hunter since the game came out so im not ur typical !@#$%^& i know what im talkin about :p

Also dropped for me in Black Morass (on Jaedenar).

I was already BM spec and these have made a huge difference to my pet's dps and survivability. Well worth the decrease in your own dps if you already had decent legs (which I did).

Apparently there will be a further improvement to these legs in the next patch. Can't wait! ;)

Just logged in this morning about 30min before the server shutdown for restart and got these dropped off a nonlisted lv. 71 Raging Fire-Soul in Elemental Plateau while I was grinding Motes of Fire.

Very nice BM Hunter gear, good for trading with if you're in a large guild or if you aren't a hunter and are looking for the 5k for the 280 flyer =P.

Just picked these up on the AH for 350g, and was thinking about flipping 'em for a quick profit, but started to wonder just how much they improve your pet's ability to hold aggro? I'm MM-specced and have trouble with my cat and my raptor holding aggro after I start laying out the DPS. I figured if I switched to these, even put on some nethercleft, I'd still lose just enough AP over my Halaa leggings, and my pet would gain enough, that mobs would stick to them like glue.

Any thoughts?

The price shown here is either way too high or I got an incredible deal on these. Bought them in the AH last week for 350G.

I think that's a good price for them, I'm not sure I would've paid much more than that for them because they weren't that big of an upgrade beyond what they do for my pet.

One point that I haven't seen anybody mention yet is the benefit of boosting your pets AP.

Once your pets AP goes above a certain threshold, which varies based on the pets level, but I believe at 70 it's something like 734, the pet gets a bonus of 5.1 threat per point of AP over that threshold each time it growls.

Now as someone mentioned above, in order to get the same boost to your pets AP from your own stats you yourself would need an astronomical amount of extra AP.

Get a threat meter and compare the opening growl of a boar that's just charged (adding 550 AP) and you'll see the difference....something like 4K threat as opposed to 1.5K for a non charging pet.

So adding this much AP to your pet will seriously increase it's aggro holding abilities while soloing.

Since the main limit on your own USEABLE dps is your pets ability to hold aggro against it, that makes these exceptionally good leggings for a soloing BM hunter.

Obviously for grouping and pvp there are better, but that's not what these are for.
