As shown by the screenshots, this thing isn't pretty. It's basically a small low-poly version of the normal mana wyrms. Considering that it's only sold in Netherstorm and that it's possibly the most expensive non-combat pet around, this thing might become a fairly popular as a 'twink' pet, but be warned that it is in fact very ugly.

Bought one because I read it as 40 silver, but now I always keep it out just to show people how much of a rich snob I am. It's not *that* bad of a non-combat pet.

While it may not be the prettiest, those who have experienced the blood elven content will instantly recognize and adore this pet...it is the same colour, etc. as the mana wyrm in the expansion video...it costs 40g from vendor, the most expensive in the game excluding Auction House.

Still, not many players use this pet, virtually unseen even in Shattrath City. Most just consider it 'silly'~

The pet is unique in that it floats in the air, one of the coolest little pets that isn't exactly 'exclusive' to "editions"

EDIT: The screenshot up top is grossly zoomed in...the pet looks quite better as it floats around town with you. Everything in wow is low poly...lol, no difference here.

I had a lvl 63 rouge buy it for me. It's kinda fun to have around, and good for playing with, if your bored, just summon it and walk around, it's nice to have some company, even though its costs alot.

Keep in mind that with 2.3 hitting the cost of vendored items will be reduced based on your reputation. So one could save up to 8g (20%) on this pet if they are exalted with the Consortium.

A very neat pet to have, and a must for collectors. I've recently picked mine up and receive many comments about it, ranging from "lol waste of money" to "What a cute pet! :D".

If you have the money to spare (which, at 70 shouldn't be much of a problem) pick this pet up and impress all your friends with your sophistication and elegance!

From the size of this pet. 40G is not much. if you are a blood elf, the pet will be kindly large to you.
most pet you can brought from vendor will never be like this size. even some ah pet just close to it.
I brought two for my two different character, is a really cool pet.

Okay, I'll prolly get downgraded for being stupid... but when did the color of this little guy change? I just summoned mine for the first time in ages... and he's BLACK now... which is definitely badass lookin. And I was like... I don't remember him being black before. The reason I summoned him is because I was looking at vids on YouTube of new pets added in 3.2 and there's a shimmering wyrmling and he looked very similar to what I remembered my mana wyrmling looking like. And if you look at the screenshots up there, he looks green with the exception of one shot taken in 2009 where he's black.

Anyone have any info on this phenomenon? I'm just curious. But I like it muchly. =)

This pet is very cool. Out of my 120 (and growing) pets, this is one of the coolest. It looks cool on Blood Elf Mages and Priests. This also goes well with any crystal-like transmog set.

But yes -- it really does cost 40g. Goes down to 36 if you build up rep with the Consortium, which is accomplished by various quests in Nagarand and running Auchinadon(sp?) in Terrokar.

this is buyable in the netherstorm, the northeren part, at the top of stormspire.

there are also some other pets buyable i have not seen yet, and they are abit cheaper then this one.

Well the exotic creatures vendor its bought from only sells one of each variety for the range of pets it sells. Perhaps in future we'll see a specialised mana wyrmling vendor somewhere else.

this guy that sells this is at the Stormspire, his title is "Exotic Pet Vendor" and on my server, this costs 36g, he also sells other pets, such as cockroaches, rabbits, and snakes, but they cost more than what u would spend if u actually found the vendor that specifically sells these things. Such as the rabbit hes selling, it costs 2g from him, but the rabbit vendor is only 30s. :)

O.O 40gold for a pet is all i thought personnaly and sure by time you make it to NS you are about right on there rep for the discount 36gold is still like 4 daily's gone i personnally will never but iy tbh unless i get like an epic drop sell it for 1kgold and have so much left over i can splurge

I generally buy them for 36 and put them on the AH for 40...more as a courtesy than anything else. I make a little bit of profit, those who can't easily get to Stormspike get to buy them for the same price they'd normally have to pay. Win-win.
