Alchemists, who craft this, may have decided to persue the transmute specialty. This yields the slight possibility to create more than one primal, even though it just uses the mats for one. This multiple result is reflected in the group log, and as such is visible to all group members.

When dealing with an Alchemist and buying this transmute, it is generally expected that since he has taken extra time and money to pursue this specialization, that the extra yielded primals will belong to him, and that whoever provided the mats and paid for the transmute is only owed what they paid for: one primal might.

If you feel otherwise, it is recommended that you discuss the possibility of a transmute yielding multiple primals, and who should get them. It can’t hurt to ask, and you may be able to pay a premium for the transmute in return for the extra primal if it drops.

Has anybody kept track of their Transmute Specialty success?

Since specializing, I have transmuted 8 Primal Mights and have never gotten more than one.

Ive been keeping track of my transmute of primal mights, and in the last 31 transmutes.

2 primal might proc - 6 times
3 primal might proc - 3 times
4 primal might proc - none
5 priaml might proc - 1 time

From the info of the previos poster:

Out of 31 transmutes, he has achieved a benefit of 16 primal mights. That means he basically makes 1 extra primal might every 2 transmutes

I have transmuted primal mights for some time now and I decided to start counting. This is what I came up with

41 x 1
15 x 2
2 x 3
2 x 5

Blizzard might have changed the chances of getting more than 1 from each transmute in past patches. (Don´t buy the recipe from the ah unless it has already been bought from the npc in lower city).

dont get tricked into buying this recipe off the AH for more than you can buy it for from "Skreah" in shat, ive seen the recipe for as much as 30g on the AH and its only 8 from the vendor, beware

I'm getting my main character to being able to proc with this stuff.

On my realm, I supply my own mats to the alchemist that do it for me. I generally tip 15g for their cool down, and more per primal might if it procs.

As the title says, at standard pricing the recipe is 8g and seems to be pretty common vendor item. At least in Shattrath City.

It's a nice recipe, and down the road will be the next Arcanite money maker for alch's. Look at all the recipes that require Primal Might.

Even if not 350 quite at 350 yet, might not be a bad idea to pick it up and bank it before others start buying it up to resell. I noticed one on our AH for 50g already.

On the other hand all three times I've checked the vendor the recipe was there.

I'd say, while it's up to the buyer to make the ultimate decision, that is no justification for over-charging for an item or trying to rip people off. One being true does not necessitate the other being false. Ethical behavior on by all parties would be best in the long run for any serious players.

I say this because, if the prices were to drop on the AH, then items would sell for less gold unless they are truely worth it due to rarity. This would make gold farming less profitable, which in turn would benefit players who will not be constantly harassed by messages about buying it. It would also mean various mats (herbs, mining, etc) would potentially be more common for players as fewer farmers are employed due to falling prices. Utlimately, this would benefit all. This being said, it will never happen - tragedy of the commons where everyone has an incentive to defect.

My solution is this: If I don't want to go and get a specific mat, I'll get something else more convenient I know will sell on the AH. I use the gold from that to buy the mat I need. I always price my stuff under whatever the average price is, so someone gets a fair price, I get the money to buy what I need, and the person selling gets gold to do with whatever they feel is appropriate. Not the ideal, though I think this is a fair compromise.

Right, if you have Master of Transmute you can make several of this while transmuting one. For example, you could transmute this to a guy called XZY with his mats, and instead of one you get 2. That means you got an extra one. DONT give it to the buyer for free thats real stupid :P sell it on AH, or use it. Maybe the buyer wants several, then you should sell it to him :P

So, what is the best moneymaker for your cooldown? On my server the mats for a primal might run about 100g, and the primal mights sell for about 115 gold, so that's 15. It seems like you'd do better here than making earthstorm or skyfire diamonds, or transmuting air to fire.

FWIW, I was a Transmutation Master for 5 months. The best Primal Might Proc I EVER got was a 3x - ONCE. I got a few 2x ones, probably what I can count on my one hand.

On transmuting SIMPLE Primal Earth to Primal Water, which was my chief moneymaker all along, i did one EVERY DAY, except for the days I did a meta gem or a might. An get this - over teh course of the same five (5) months - i got TWO miserable 2x procs. NOTHING ELSE.

As for the rest I got a few 2x procs on otehr transmutations, but on average, I've been so disappointed with TransMastery , i went to elixir mastery instead. I'm actually leaning towards that TransMastery is still bugged like it was in 2.3, but they supposedly fixed it in 2.3.2.

(Yes yes, math geniuses, I know my own experience is not statstically significant. As usual, YMMV.)

In any case, I'm beyond caring. I've had my time on WOW, and RL matters more to me today than #$%^&ing about BLizzard screwing up either the transmutation code or screwing those who choose transmutation mastery.
