The Void Ridge on Hellfire seems to be the best place to farm these. Manaforge Ultris has tougher mobs and longer spawn times. I used to get one primal shadow each time I started from the bottom end of the ridge and went to the top part. The mobs drop easily. Depending on your class you can kill 3-4 or even more at the same time.

The Primal Shadow prices on two of my realms have increased from 50-80 silver to around 19 gold if.

If any of you have some of those primals in your bank I would suggest you to place them in the AH as I think they've reached their maximum value. (Placing them in the AH for 24h after 10 pm will help you to get maximum gold out of them)

Luckily for me, thanks to reading the patch notes, I got 4 stacks of Primal Shadow for 50 silver each a few months ago and now I'm slowly making profit out of them :)

Confirmed price increase since the recent addition of various patterns/items in patch 2.2. Went from buying these for less than 50silver(most people just vendored them) to 20g+ on Staghelm.

Yep Pimal Shadow now costs like like 20g just for one now. Since the new patterns its not worth it to buy them AH. So just go farm them your self. Saves you alot of money.

I doubt there is one good place for all classes to farm this.

There are some void walkers that raises resistance to the magic type you use against them, giving me a hell to farm them as a Paladin with only Holy attacks to spare. They're good for combat dps and can be good for Mages for instance by starting the battle with an Ice Lance while being Fire Specced.

That are some nice farming spots, but what's better? Farm primal shadows or farm primal waters and transmute them ( depending on droprate and farmspots ofc ), I got some firends that will transmute it for free, so money isn't a problem.

The best place ever to farm mote of shadow Primal Shadow is the middle lower area of hell fire P. there are alot of lvl 60-61 voidwalkers that have a 25-35% drop rate.

the prices for primal shadow the last 2 months have been higher than avrage becuase of all the guilds just running inside Black Temple and they need resistance gear. If you dont want to spend alot of money on buying primal shadow (like i do), go grind in hellfire peninshula.

I opted for the Armoursmith specialisation option for my Paladin but am thinking now it may have been the wrong choice. Just to make a nether chain shirt I need 20 of these and 20 primal air, not to mention all the Khorium, Hardenend Adamantite and felsteel bars.

It would seem that the only way to actaully make anything from this I will need to farm all the materials myself, though when you think of how long it's going to take I ask myself, is it really worth the bother !

I dread to think of the expense and or the time it will take to get the materials for Bulwark of Kings which requires 20 Primal nether amongst other items.

Another way to get Primal Shadow is to farm the Voidspawns around the Oshu'gun area in Nagrand as they drop motes of shadow. Like most Primals you can make them from motes. it is just not mentioned above so I thought a note here would be helpful. 20+ of them in about 2 hours of farming seemed pretty good. also got netherweave at this camp. be on guard for Durn the Hungerer <Son of Gruul> lvl 65-67 leetness that circles Oshu'gun area 0.o otherwise totally nice camp

The 2.1 patch has eliminated motes of shadow from "almost all demons." Guess that means that Primal Shadow is finally going to raise up from 2g each to match more with the others. Glad i bought up a lot of it now for cheap rates so when it goes up should turn a nice profit.

Wrong, they do drop on demons. They still drop on the voids in nagrand and now i just found out they have a great droprate at Manaforge Ultris in netherstorm.

According to another site, this transmute is a discovery. You have achance of learning it while performing other transmutes.

NOTE:The vacillating voidcallers, have the ability to absorb the initial attack type used on them this will cause their main spells to be based on that type of spell it will also buff them so that they recieve 75% less damage from that school of magic, I.E. if a mage were to cast Pyroblast the Voidcaller would absorb the Fire attack, this will give him a buff/debuff which will casue all fire type attacks against him to lose 75% of their damage, to counter this is if you have another attack from a different magic school then your primary school, cast that first this will cause the Viodcaller to gain a risistance to that school not your main casting type

exampleif a fire-specced mage were to cast Frostbolt first the Voidcaller would gain a risistance to Frost type magic, thus allowing the mage to cast fireball and other fire spells with no risistance

For Horde Pallys sice our main casting type is holy start off the fight with mana tap, this an arcane spell and will cause a risistance for arcane magic, allowing us to demolish them with Exorcism!

Best place atm seems to be from the voids at Manaforge Ultris, i got a primal every 8-10 minutes (I was the only one hunting them, so not sure how effective that place would be in highly populated servers)

Oshu'Gun in Nagrand, The drop rates are not the best for motes but the VW's drop losts of silver and the occasional Oshu'gun chrystal poweder samples. which can be turned in for research tokens..

8 reseach tokens = 1 Halaani bag (18 slot)

Ridge in Hellfire has apparently been nerfed...these motes are now dropping few and far between.

Must've been a stealth nerf in the patch.

I got them real nice off the Voidspawns in Oshu-gun in Negrand. Grinded 12000 exp and got 10 motes, i'd say like 10 min or less.

I'm a level 61 lock, and I collected my Motes of Shadow over in The Warp Fields in Hellfire Penninsula from Uncontrollable Void Walkers. The Rogue Void Walkers didn't drop any no matter how many I killed, but the drop rate from the Uncontrollable Void Walkers was pretty decent, like 1-5 on average. Once I got 2 motes in a row from 2 mobs. Only took me less than 20 min and I scored my first Primal Shadow. :)

Doing this once a day for 20 days could mean 300+ gold worth of Primal Shadow (not to mention the decent money they drop like 2-12+ silver per mob), enough for you to obtain your next riding ability. You could try scoring 2 to 3 in one day if you're eager enough. Then when you get to level 62+ you could go for the voids in Nagrand which has a better drop rate.

Oddly enough, I just happened to be in Warp Fields when I was performing and Earthstorm Diamond transmute. During which I "discovered" how to perform this transmute. Don't know if location had anything to do with it, or just happenstance.

after 2.4 it seems the drop rate has been severely nerfed at the crystal. I would say it went from 50% down to 5% or less.

Yeah the drops in Nagrand are getting a little racy. Need 12 for Utter Boots of Darkness and it sucks. Got 3 primals in an hour or so, which is lucky considering all the other farmers out there now.

I'm so freaking fed up with the Chinese gold farmer I could spit. You can do nothing in the game any more without having to contend with fools using hacks (like the speed hack) to beat you outta anything.

Forget about Oshu'Gun or the Elemental Plataue folks, they're both swarming with these smarmy azzholes.

Rumor has it that bliz has set a timer nerf on the spots, so after about 10 mins, the mote drops in a particular spot will drop significantly... i recommend going from spot to spot every 10 mins, the ridge-->oshu'gun-->netherstorm|repeat

I've heard nothing "official" about it but it seems to work decently well for me since i get frustrated over grinding, and i prefer instant gratification... altho the FPs do piss me off...

i highly recomend Oshu'gun in Nagrand, not only do they drop shadow motes (maybe two or three in one) they drop LOADS! of netherweave and and some greens and sometimes blues, i went there today and found a verry rare blue, plus i farmed 5primals in about an hour, plus 10g money and about 6 or 7 stacks of netherweave.
