A lvl 20 blue with 5 shadow res and 2 spirit? Is that a joke? Worthless for battlegrounds / twinks (you can get higher dps green daggers 25-29, with actually useful stats on them). Even if you just wanted to use it to help level and/or instance run from 20-24, the worthless stats on it mitigate its dps advantage through that time. Yeah it has a cool name and looks decent, but damn.

The only thing I can see anyone using this practically for would be constantly and obsessively dueling loks at lvl 20-24. And if you're posessed to do that, it may be time to quit wow.

Oh it does have one very good use, though, of course. Selling for exorbitant amounts of g.

I can't really agree. My lvl 29 hunter still uses this (got it at lvl 23), she has a sword in her other hand which does similar damage. And she always brings down mobs very easily. This IS a great dagger, but it does depend on what you pair it with. It's not really a solo weapon...

Hey i know it's fast and all but im sure i could find .1 or .2 faster with better stats than that.... a warlock or some sort of caster may want this for the little spirit it has but +5 shadow resistance to me is just a rip off to pay for such a rare item, what does that do? give you .05% chance to avoid a shadow spell? haha whatever i'l just stick with "Doomspike" https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/item=3413/末日之刺 or "Deadly Bronze Poniard" https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/item=3490/致命的青銅短劍. It's not a great weapon, but its raw damage is higher than green daggers requiring levels 20-25. It's still a major upgrade for a level 20 rogue.

You can cite other blue daggers like, for example, the Assassin's Blade which has extra value as a WSG twink weapon- but those weapons cost up to ten times what Blackfang sells for in the AH. Blackfang usually sells for 12-19 G.

Even if you can afford the other, better blues, they're still not easy to get since they're bought out quickly.

If you find a reasonable price for Blackfang with little better in the AH, and will get a big enough DPS increase from it, I don't think getting this dagger is a bad idea.

I've been fortunate enough in my first two months of playing to get this item twice. First I had one drop while killing ashenvale outrunners (even though this drop list says 0.00% for them). The second time was in Talon Den in Stonetalon Peak. Not sure which type it was, but it was a female centaur.

One thing I hate about this dagger is you can only carry one. I found one off a giant moss creeper in hillsbrad. Next day I find one off a peasant, but it wouldn't let me loot it! Stupid "You already have too many of this item" or whatever message.

unique items(the label unique) mean you can only carry one at a time. Unbound unique things can be mailed to yourself to get around this limitation, but that won't always be of use.
