This and the Cloak of Consumption are the two best caster DPS pieces in ZG, hands down. I'd argue that the wand is actually better than the cloak because the only superior DPS items are from Patchwerk, Kel'Thuzad, and Azuregos (only if you're a frost mage). Roughly comparable cloaks are available from Nefarian, Bug Trio, and Razuvious - much easier fights.

Simply the best wand in the game for casual or for inexperienced raiders. While it is used by many because the upgrade to this is obtained in either Naxxramas or Azuregos if you are a icemage. I suggest saving dkp or your purple roll for this. It does not drop to often either! Nice graphic and be sure to zoom in on the hand and what it is holding too!

Ah, yes, this is a great wand. It took me so many ZG runs to get this. Most of the time it didn't drop, and when it did, I always lost the roll. I still have yet to get a Cloak of Consumption, but I prefer the warlock AQ20 quest cloak.

Neuromaster is right about this and the Cloak of Consumption being the best caster DPS loot in ZG, but I'd also add on Jin'do's Bag of Whammies (https://www.wowhead.com/mop-classic/item=19891). It is probably one of the easiest/best off-hands to get in the game. The AQ20 off-hand hardly ever drops. The rest all come from 40-mans.

I have passed on this so many times in order to get the cloak, as we progressed into AQ40 more and more we only did ZG enchant runs, big mistake. Try and get this before your guild does not do it anymore, there are few wands in the game with more damage then this. I regret not getting it and today we raid naxx and I am using a blue wand.

If your guild is raiding Naxx and progressing through AQ40, try killing Bug Trio in a harder order by killing Kri last. Wand of Qiraji Nobility is better since your guild only does idol runs and if your guild doesn't mind a challenge, this wand is easily accessible. Also, you can always wait for your guild to kill Patchwerk (if you haven't already) and get Wand of Fates, which is even better.

Wands are not really a main source of dps, they are used for their mods to aid one's dps and something to do when your oom and trying to regen. Touch of Chaos is a great wand, and the dps isnt to shabby.

Best wand for Mages and Warlocks from BWL and bellow in my opinion. While it does have no stam or int on it, it makes up for it in the +spell damage. Most other epic wands around it level only have a meager amount of stats on it anyway.

i got mine the other day - the BEST wand in the game imo. and i stand by that - dragons touch may have stats and better dps BUT it has less damage (what i care about most) AND is fire based making it not all that useful as most of the mobs we wand atm are fine immune - come AQ though dragons touch will rock.

also with this + Stormrager (Nature) as a mage i have ways of doinf all 5 schools of magic in BWL - and my wand has crited for like 900 ^^

and to end it all it has the BEST skin of any wand ever :) i'm very happy mage indeed

This thing is just the second best wand in the game, only Wand of Qiraj Nobility is better!

Unfortunately, I never saw this thing drop in about 20 Hakker kills. I hope it drops soon as I'm already 10.000 / 21.000 revered, and there won't be needed that much runs any more to become exalted.

So tell me is the droprate of 7% true? Almost can't believe it. Thott says 3%.

You realize that 3000 Frostbolt crits mean he had some form of damage buff. I have some of the best dmg gear I can get. No, I don't have the best, but it is very decent. about 750ish frostbolts. Critting for around 1500. So to get 3000, he would need a talisman of ephermeral power, arcane power, max + dmg gear on every slot, the Faire's damage buff, and probably other things to get that high. Warlocks in my guild are critting for 3000+ now, and they have full +Dmg suits. Wearing the most +dmg stuff outside BWL. So unless your server has everyone wearing full suits of damage gear. I find this unlikely.

Give me proof of a 3000 frostbolt and i'll eat my words. =D

This wand is totally awesome. I just got it myself (drops from Hakkar (last boss in Zul'Gurub) which you might already know), and tested it in a duel; it hits for 100-150 and crits for about ~220 and has a relative fast casting speed. It also has +18 spell damage (all schools of magic) wich is pretty god damn awesome to be a wand. Besides that it looks really cool :)

i think u all forget the 25% boost most shadows P's have for wands and the vulnerable to shadow damage that we inflict also... this boosts this bute well up the ranks..

Wearing a bunch or +dmg gear and combining arcane power with Zandalarian hero charm, I crit for over 3100 with frostbolt on a target with Curse of elements or about 2750 without. completely possible.

Great +damage wand up until you can tackle the bug trio for the wand of the qiraji nobility. Its ok for priests in my opinion, its hard to find a decent healing wand in lower tier raid instances like ZG.

this wand is probably the biggest crap in term of stats that i have seen in few months. I cant imagine someone wanting this wand for anything else than having a purple wand.

The dps is mad but who really uses wand for damage. At lvl 60 wand is for me a statholder, nothing more.

Now look at the stats. "+ up to 18 healing and spell damage."
As everyone knows "up to" dmg depend on casting time of your spell so even on my shadow bolt i would get only around 84% of that 18.
A crappy green lvl 55 Dragon Finger of Shadow Wrath gives you +20 spell dmg.
Give this wand +sta and +int and it would be the best wand in game. As it is now its just another crappy epic that noone wanted...

Im a shadow priest with wand specialiazion and i use 'oblivions touch' with that i can hit for around 200 and can crit for 400 this wand is amazing for us shadow priests

You'll find many occasions on which you have to wand when raiding as a caster, especially a Mage. This wand is straight-up 82 DPS. Combine it with your chance to crit and you might see anywhere from 90-100 overall DPS while wanding. Now, that's not exactly high damage output, but I'll wager it's about half of what you'd be doing with mana--and your mana will be regenerating while you're wanding.

That's not a bad deal at all, and I find it laughable that people are comparing this to green wands. Green wands have, oh, about 40 less DPS than this. And that'll translate to a 45-50 DPS loss when factoring in crits.

Screw that, I'd take this thing if it dropped.

Does any1 else notice thets the sceleton hand is making the "rock on" sign, and then under it is a pentagram? theres also another wand (i cant recall the name) thet makes the "peace" sign and under it is the other form of peace sign heres a rough interpritaion( | ) (i know it sux)

that means that when you go all out in bwl or ragnaros, u can wand for a $%^&load of dmg too.

+ the speed is 1.50. That's 320 dmg after 3 seconds

Not that much better than the blue wand from the Headmaster in Scholomance. DPS isn't a huge deal with wands, my bonecreeper already has a decent output anyways.

Everyone should have to list their temp buffs on these high crits. AP/ToEP/AV etc. You won't get a 3000 frostbolt crit on regular +dmg gear.

I just got this little sucker and I'm already in love with it. It's not only the +spelldmg but it's also very nice in BWL when the trashmobs and Chromaggus have shadow vulnerability this wand crits for 600-700! Maybe more, haven't had time to test it very much yet.

Some priest spent all his dkp on this dps caster wand. then the next raid mar'li's touch dropped (the priest wand) since i already had it(i'am a priest) and the other priest just got touch of chaos this priest wand went to a mage. Kinda fudged up if you ask me.

I don't know if anyone else is thinking the way I am.... but take a look at the other wands around WoW, like cold snap for instance, it has +7 int, and +20 frost damage. The wand from scholo has +4 int and +11 dmg all spells. Before the dmg wand nerf, the wands were adding +20-21 dmg, more than this even though it was only to one school.

Given this info, just the stats, not the dmg on the wand itself, trading 4 int for +7dmg from an upgrade of bonecreeper stylus. THIS ITEM IS UNDERPOWERED. sure the stat tradeoff may be fair for those two wands, but that only leaves an increase in damage from the actual touch of chaos.

Conclusion: Besides the incredible DPS, statwise, this is not an epic wand, it's something I would expect to see from scholo like bonecreeper stylus. IT NEEDS STATS!

If you read what Blizzard said about Shadow Wrath gear, that +20 works the same as if it said "up to 20" so your green is only 2 better than this (an amount that your Shadow Bolt won't notice at all.) Also take into consideration, this will now help if you ever cast any fire spell when outside of an MC/Onyxia Instance. Now... put it into perspective that Onyxia is Fire Immune and with Auto-shot out, many guilds wand her instead of spamming Shadowbolts/Arcane Missles/Frostbolts to be safe, it's nice to have a wand that will atleast do decent damage and that Dragon Finger of Shadow Wrath is not good DPS to start with and is fire to boot.

As for the Icebolt crits thing, you'll start seeing massive Icebolts on MC mobs and the such if Blizzard ever makes Curse of Elements give a vulnerability bonus to frost spells. As of now, I'm pretty stoked that with my +dmg gear, I have broken 3800 with my Shadow Bolt crits. Now if only I could get my hands on Fel Infused Leggings and Sash of Whispered Secrets.
