I just confirmed on my paladin alt:

You can just get the ZG set pieces from the dropped tokens back after deleting them, just like the reputation necklace!

Beware: Enchantments will be lost!
However that is a small price to pay for 3 free bag slots!

Confirmed, you can pick up the item before level 60, but you cannot turn them in. The beginning quest (Paragon of Power) is not available until level 60.
