Mogu'Shan Palace Dungeon Guide: Bosses, Strategy and Loot - MoP Classic
來自 Riyani
已更新:
2025/07/26
Mogu'shan Palace is likely the third or fourth dungeon you will encounter in Pandaria. This guide covers what to expect in Normal, and Heroic modes: viability for leveling, quests, loot, and the dungeon strategy, including any important skips.
Introduction to Mogu'shan Palace
Mogu'shan Palace served as a seat of power during the Mogu rule of Pandaria, and now the Mogu king,
『武器大師』辛
, has gathered three clans to unite the Mogu and reclaim the might of their former empire. You're tasked with putting that plot to an end.
Mogu'shan Palace is a dungeon you'll be looking to complete for the first time around the middle of your leveling experience in Mist of Pandaria. Despite the level 87 requirement to queue for the dungeon, it drops 450 ilvl loot, which is equivalent to the best obtainable dungeon loot before setting foot into Heroic dungeons.
Minimum Level 87
The item level Requirement to queue is 366
This dungeon is also available in Challenge Modes. You can find our full Challenge Mode guide by clicking the box below.

Location of Mogu'shan Palace
Mogu'shan Palance is located in the northeastern part of
恆春谷
. The entrance can be accessed quickly by flying from either the Horde or Alliance capital city, but if you're not level 90 or still missing
四風之智慧
, you can still access it by taking a side entrance, where you'll also find the summoning stone for the dungeon, at /way 75.23 29.57.

四王的聖物
is one out of two quests offered to you by

as you enter the dungeon. This quest will require you to loot treasure hidden in the chests around the second boss,
蓋肯
, and will be completed once you collect
巫王的燈籠
,
『狂顛心』孟帝的天平
,
羌皇兵法「戰學論」
, and
蘇比泰王的迅捷之弓
.
『夢旅者』司南
will find you at the end of the instance for a quick and easy turn-in.
A New Lesson for the Master (Neutral)
四王的聖物
is one out of two quests offered to you by
『夢旅者』司南
as you enter the dungeon. This quest will require you to kill the final boss of the dungeon,
『武器大師』辛
.
『夢旅者』司南
will find you at the end of the instance for a quick and easy turn-in.
Leveling in Mogu'shan Palace
Mobs within this dungeon are level 87+ and will give relevant experience until level 90. That said, this dungeon is not very mob-dense and has a lot of role-play elements, which slows you down significantly in your leveling. Doing this dungeon more than once while leveling will yield inefficient experience, but it may help you obtain good starter gear for when you're level 90.
It's a short dungeon with a quick reset.
There are two quests with 440 ilvl item rewards.
There is a lot of role-play and not a lot of mobs.
For efficiency's sake, you may not want to do this dungeon more than once for the quest experience and rewards.
Bosses in Mogu'shan Palace
Ming the Cunning, Kuai the Brute, and Haiyan the Unstoppable have journeyed to the palace with their clans, vying to prove their worth to their king. Yet these Mogu factions are plagued with bitter rivalries. Violence threatens to flood the palatial grounds unless the bickering clans can find a way to test their strength without coming to blows with one another.
Overview
Despite there being three bosses in the encounter, you only face one of them at a time. The order will be random each time you enter the dungeon, and instead of dying, they'll submit to you while at low health, after which the next boss becomes active. Moving out of spells like Whirling Dervish and Shockwave while not spreading Conflagrate to nearby targets will all but guarantee success in the fight.
Tank:
Keep threat on each boss and Mu'Shiba when Kuai the Brute is active. Interrupt Lightning Bolt whenever possible.
Damage Dealers:
Avoid taking damage from area-of-effect spells, like Whirling Dervish and Shockwave. Stack on the person targeted by Meteor to split the damage, and then spread again to avoid spreading Conflagrate. Interrupt Lightning Bolt whenever possible.
Healer:
Avoid taking damage from area-of-effect spells, like Whirling Dervish and Shockwave. Stack on the person targeted by Meteor to split the damage, and then spread again to avoid spreading Conflagrate. The Tank will sometimes get struck with Traumatic Blow, reducing their healing taken by 50%.
Abilities
Kuai the Brute
–
Clan Gurthan favors the use of fist weapons and prizes their Quilen companions.
Ravage
: Mu'Shiba tackles a random player to the ground then ravages them. Ravage inflicts Physical damage every second for 10 seconds. Defeating Mu'Shiba ends this effect early.
Shockwave
: Kuai the Brute sends a shockwave along the ground in front of him. The shockwave launches any player hit into the air. Players suffer Physical damage based on how far they fall.
Ming the Cunning
–
The Harthak are masters of wind and lightning-based magic.
Whirling Dervish
: Ming the Cunning summons a Whirling Dervish that randomly moves around the arena, inflicting Nature damage and knocking back all players in its path.
Magnetic Field
: Ming the Cunning rapidly spins in place, creating a Magnetic Field that pulls nearby creatures into its vortex. Creatures in the vortex suffer Nature damage every second.
Lightning Bolt
: Ming the Cunning inflicts Nature damage to his current target. This spell is interruptible.
Haiyan the Unstoppable
–
The Kargesh are strong warriors who favor large weapons and fire magic.
Conflagrate
: Haiyan the Unstoppable lights a random player on fire in a huge gout of flame. The Conflagration inflicts Fire damage every second and disorients the victim. When Conflagrate ends, the flames jump to any nearby creature.
Meteor
: Haiyan the Unstoppable hurls a fiery boulder at a random player. When the meteor lands, it inflicts Fire damage in a 10-yard radius divided evenly among all players in the area of effect.
Traumatic Blow
: Haiyan the Unstoppable inflicts 200% of his weapon damage as Physical damage to his current target. The victim receives 50% less healing for the next 5 seconds.
As the Mogu clans battle for supremacy, the cunning Gekkan leads his fearsome Saurok raiding party into the palace's fabled treasure caches. Loyalty is not usually ascribed to these ruthless reptilian beings, but Gekkan's courage and tactical brilliance inspire a sense of honor in his soldiers.
Overview
As a boss, Gekkan has no mechanics of his own. Instead, he bolsters the power of his entourage of adds, which are responsible for most of the mechanics in this fight. Leading up to the fight, you'll face every mob type that also appears in the boss encounter, giving you an introduction to how to deal with them. The encounter is made much easier on every difficulty by interrupting the Glintrok Oracle's
Cleansing Flame
and interrupting the Glintrok Skulker's
Shank
by using stuns and displacements.
Tank:
Stack up the boss and his adds to the best of your ability.
Interrupt
Cleansing Flame
whenever possible.
Make sure you never get stunned by
Shank
. This can be avoided by stunning or displacing the Glintrok Skulker when he's casting the spell or by moving out of melee range as it's being cast.
Damage Dealers:
Interrupt
Cleansing Flame
whenever possible.
Glintrok Ironhide causes all the adds and the boss around him to take reduced damage, through
Iron Protector
. Focus it down to speed up the encounter.
Healer:
Interrupt
Cleansing Flame
whenever possible.
Dispell Hex of Lethargy on your group. Prioritize dispelling casters, as the debuff reduces their cast speed by 25% per stack.
Boss Abilities
Reckless Inspiration
:
Gekkan inspires one of his subordinates, increasing haste by 40% and rendering them immune to long-duration crowd control effects but increasing damage taken by 25%. This effect stacks. In addition, whenever a member of Gekkan's entourage dies, Gekkan will cast Reckless Inspiration on himself.
Inspiring Cry
:
On death, Gekkan utters a final rallying cry, granting Reckless Inspiration to all remaining members of his entourage.
Entourage Abilities
Glintrok Ironhide:
Iron Protector
reduces the damage taken by allies within 5 yards by 50%.
Glintrok Skulker:
Shanks
a player, inflicting 150% weapon damage and stunning the target for 5 seconds.
Glintrok Oracle:
Cleansing Flame
heals all allies within 60 yards.
Fire Bolt
: The Glintrok Oracle unleashes a Fire Bolt at his current target, inflicting damage equivalent to its melee swing as Fire damage.
Glintrok Hexxer:
Hex of Lethargy
: The Glintrok Hexxer hexes the target, inflicting Shadow damage and reducing spell casting speed by 25% for 20 seconds. Stacks up to 4 times.
Dark Bolt
: The Glintrok Hexxer unleashes a Dark Bolt at his current target, inflicting damage equivalent to its melee swing as Shadow damage.
The title of weapon master has many definitions among Azeroth's inhabitants. To Xin, it means that Mogu weaponry obeys his every command. The king is more than willing to demonstrate his deadly skills to anyone who questions his right to rule Pandaria.
Overview
Xin the Weaponmaster is ultimately a fight about avoiding projectiles, which gets progressively harder the lower the health of the boss is, due to new mechanics being introduced at 66% and 33% of the boss's health. Four out of the boss' six mechanics can all be avoided by proper movement, so put on your dancing shoes for the final encounter of this dungeon.
Tank:
- Pull the boss into a position where you'll be safe once Blade Trap spawns at 66% health.
- Face the boss away from the group at all times.
Ground Slam
is a frontal ability and will always target the Tank. Move out of the projectile to avoid taking damage and the armor reduction debuff.
- Move out of
Circle of Flame
once the fire starts forming, to avoid taking fire damage and the knock-up that happens once the circle is complete.
-
Whirlwinding Axes
will knock back and damage anyone they come into contact with. Move the boss if the ground becomes too cluttered with these axes.
Damage Dealers:
- Move out of
Circle of Flame
once the fire starts forming, to avoid taking fire damage and the knock-up that happens once the circle is complete.
- Avoid standing in the blade lines from
Blade Trap
once they spawn at 66% health.
-
Whirlwinding Axes
will knock back and damage anyone they come into contact with. Avoid them as much as possible.
Healer:
- Move out of
Circle of Flame
once the fire starts forming, to avoid taking fire damage and the knock-up that happens once the circle is complete.
- Avoid standing in the blade lines from
Blade Trap
once they spawn at 66% health.
- Whirlwinding Axes will knock back and damage anyone it comes into contact with. Avoid them as much as possible.
- At 33% boss health, the final trap will activate—
Death From Above!
This will do unavoidable damage to random players. Use healing cooldowns at this point.
Boss Abilities
Ground Slam
: Xin slams the ground in front of him, inflicting Physical damage and decreasing the armor of enemies in a 30-yard cone in front of him by 25% for 20 seconds. This effect stacks.
Circle of Flame
: Xin animates a staff from his arsenal. The staff circles a random enemy in flame, detonating once the circle completes. The explosion inflicts Fire damage and knocks enemies into the air.
Inciting Roar
: Xin cries out a bellowing roar, activating the arsenal of his choice and inflicting damage to all enemies.
Whirlwinding Axes
: On death, Gekkan utters a final rallying cry, granting Reckless Inspiration to all remaining members of his entourage.
Trap Abilities
Blade Trap
: At 66% remaining health, Xin activates his sword traps. The stream of blades inflicts Physical damage every 0.5 seconds to those caught in the path.
Death From Above!
: At 33% remaining health, Xin activates every last weapon in his arsenal. The mounted crossbows on the wall inflict Physical damage on a random player every 1 second.
A treacherous foe returns to the halls of Mogu'shan Palace to carry out its revenge once more. From humble beginnings in Thunder Bluff, Serpentshrine Caverns, and Icecrown Citadel, to a more recent appearance in Blackwing Descent, the mighty Elevator Boss lives once more.
Overview
The elevator may seem like a harmless thing, helping you in your quest to finish the dungeon, but do not become complacent when dealing with the mechanics of this foe. One simple mistake on this boss, and your demise will come quickly—unless you outplay the boss with a Slow Fall or Divine Shield.
