Rattlegore gains Rusting on every melee attack giving him 15% increase to his damage but lowering his attack and movement speed by 5% for each stack lasting for 15 seconds. So at 5 stacks his attack and movement speed will be reduced by 25%. This should give the tank enough time to kite Rattlegore and let the stacks drop off. DPS must make sure not to overaggro while the tank is kiting since he will be doing it quite often.

Just completed this today on a guardian druid with the passive 15% movement speed increase talent. Basically you should treat it like the Big Bad Wolf fight in Karazhan once you become Red Riding Hood; Running around the edges of the room, making sure he follows. He stops every so often to throw a Bone Spike to make this not so hard as it seems. Just be careful of fires and you'll be fine. Although Stempeding Roar and cat form Dash were helpful, they were not needed.

Warlock Demonic Gateway can be extremely good on this fight, but you must use it carefully. If the tank uses the gateway, he will lose all threat. Just make sure no one's near the boss when he uses it. It's a nice way to get him to "swap targets" and generate distance without having to burn multiple taunts.

Suck at kiting? Don't have speed enchants on your boots? Well then you are in luck. An alternative method for doing this achievement actually makes it a LOT easier.

Here is what you need.

1. Two classes in your group with taunt.

Strategy
Start off the fight with your tank in the bottom right corner of the room and the other class with taunt in the opposite corner (top left). Tank the boss as normal until you get 4 stacks of the debuff. Once you reach four have the other class 'taunt' the boss onto him, making sure to use as much range as possible. Have that person move back to his corner and just before the boss gets to him have your tank 'taunt' the boss back. By the time the boss reaches the tank again, the stacks should have worn off and you tank until the boss has 4 stacks and rinse and repeat. You could probably do this with 5, but play it safe with 4.

This basically trivializes the need to kite and makes the fight a one shot, provided you do not stand in fire or forget to pick up bones on the ground.

Note: DPS might have to slow or stop dps during the taunt transitions to avoid pulling threat.

Completed this achievement a few days ago with a Guardian Druid - without the 15% movement speed increase - and an Off Tank Panda Monk. Basically they ran in a circle around the outer edge of the room always parallel to each other. When Rattlegore obtained about 3/4 stacks of Rusting one would taunt off the other and activate their sprint ability. This allowed the two other DPS - a BM Hunter and Frost Mage time to DPS down the big guy while the healer (Holy Priest) kept down a light well that both the tank, off tank, and DPS could easily click on.

Have done it successfully while tanking for PuGs twice now as a paladin. Talented into Long Arm of the Law, though Pursuit of Justice looks like it'll work just as well. Just ran around the outer edge of the room using Judgment on cooldown and dropping Consecration on the straightaways when he'd run through the full effect. Execution Sentence would be a good ability to use as well, though I did it without that.

As long as you hug the walls the flames won't be a problem, and picking up bones should be easy since you'll be passing them all the time.

This won't work if someone pulls out one of their big threat abilities, like a hunter's stampede, a shaman's elementals, or (and this is the worst offender) a death knight's army of the dead. You should never use army on this fight.

Completed this achievement as a Guardian druid just by keeping savage defense up the whole fight and dodged all of his attacks while we killed him. This is the easiest strat for this achievement as all that is required is a lot of luck.

Nice to know this is actually how it's done. I tanked him yesterday and got the achievment but apparantly I dodged and parried enough to let the stacks wear off xD lucky me.

Easily soloed as ret paladin. Just pick up long arm of the law, might take a while but he'll eventually die. Grab your bone armor along the way as you kite around the room.

Did this achievement recently, with current gear just burn him down Asap!
he didnt got the chance to stack till 5..
