It has become way to common for a rogue to lose a pvp match simply because the opponent gets out of melee range when you're ready to finish them off with an eviscerate...this should fix that problem : )

I was in Zangarmarsh yesterday, and I jumped a gnome mage with the new silencing Garotte, then proceeded to crit mutilate him for 2100, which left him very nearly dead. He blinked and began to cast sheep, which would have allowed him to get some distance (no bandage due to garotte, yay) and I popped my cold blood + Bladefist trinket macro, then hurled a 5 point deadly throw at him, which crit him for 1550 and killed him on the spot, heheh. The look on his face must have been priceless, getting crit for 1500 by a rogue from 20 yards away. >:D

This has powerful synergy with Ruthlessness, a talent often skipped. Since you only need 1cp to get the primary benefit (a ranged snare), Ruth (60% chance for a CP when using finishers) allows for a decent chance to chain snare from range. It would be unsurprising if they modified it to only allow one second of snare for each CP used.

Useful for people who can't 5-8 perfectly(rupture kiting, you slap rupture on the warrior/druid/rogue and move 6-7 yards away from them so they can't hit you while your energy regens or to restealth in their face, don't try this without practice first you also need to force some mind games), or when crippling doesn't last as long as you thought it would. learning to jump shoot(180 shot, whatever you wish to call it) makes this skill defensive as well, getting away from an enemy. to jump shoot, you hold whatever button that moves you forward, jump, do a 180 midair so your facing the enemy, cast deadly throw, and do a 180 back before you land. if you play a hunter you should already know this. the point of this skill is to deadly throw without losing speed from turning around to face the enemy, because you are still moving forward from the jump.

Wonderful skill. It completely eliminates any chance of being kited ever, thus destroying the fun of ranged classes. Shouldn't have been implemented imo.

This is not all that great towards hunters. they can either trap you while they are dazed or they can Scatter Shot you. making you do nothing for 3 sec ;) then they get away and Concussive you. so against hunters this is useless ;) get the gloves and go crazy on warlock's i'd say!

this skill can destroy casters with little or no effort. often when vsing mages, i'll cheap shot then as they blink i'll use DT. this stops them from their little kiting tricks and allows me to get back into melee range.

ruthlessness is a must for this ability. if you happen to get another combo point when using this, refresh the snare until you get back into melee range to fight.

I see this as an indirect nerf to shamans, Frostshock was nerfed because it was seen as a 'ranged snare' so why do rogues get a similar ability? And before you downrate this, is Deadly throw on diminishing returns? No.(Also vile poisions 40% chance for poisions to be undispellable, though being a nerf to everyone with a poision cleanse, shamans got the worst of it-druids can shift out of the snare but cleanse totem ticks every 5 secs)

Hunters traps are nulified by cloak of shadows, and sactter shot only lasts a few seconds. Rogues have a bunch of wonderful skills in BC that allow them to be much more effective in PvP. ^_^

We became overpowered. Even 10 years kid can now PvP as Rogue, and no special skills required. Start from stealth, then stunlock. If enemy is not dead, CoS+Vanish and repeat. If the enemy is still alive, Sprint, then Blind ... and repeat it again.
I'm proud with my Rogue... but we have too much advantages over other classes.
P.S. Hate frost mages btw.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but apparently Deadly Throw cannot be removed by The Beast Within OR Blessing of Freedom, making it one of the only dazes that cannot be removed by almost anything at all. Not sure if Trinket will remove this daze though.

If you need to level your thrown weapon skill once you hit 70 to make this ability more effective, I would suggest going after the mob named Azaloth in SMV outside the Black Temple on the southern terrace. He's a banished mob that you can throw at without aggroing him or the mobs around him who are banishing (I just stood on the ledge behind him). Even tho he doesn't aggro, you still get the skill-ups. It takes a while, but its prolly the best way to level your thrown skill to 350.

now im just curious bcuz i dont kno much about rouges but this is a "finishing move" soo does that mean you must hav combo points on the target in order to use this ability? or can u use this ability with out any combo points if u culd use it with out any combo points then this ability wuld be sick. =O

Also, great for catching up to another rogue if he/she uses sprint, this will cut him/her back down to normal speed. All you need to do then is hopefully have you're sprint ready, pop it, then land a back stab. That is, if this move doesn't kill him/her... >:) Actually, come to think of it, the aforementioned technique could be used on anyone BUT a rogue/hunterto gain a HUGE distance advantage.

If I remember correctly there used to be something that made deadly throw interrupt casting... I think it was the pvp glove ability back in Arena Season 3. is this accurate?

It doesnt surprise me, that no one has commented this ability. I dont see any use of this ability anymore.

Back in the days, with pvp gear, this ability also caused silence on target, if you had combo points on them. Now adays it just does throwed damage, and slows with 50% speed - and keep in mind. You probably have Cripling poison on anyway, or even Deadly Brew in Assasination tree, so why bother waste combo points on this. Sure, you may be able to kill target, but it doesnt do that much damage anyway.

This ability somehow indeed needs a buff.

Because it's possible to poison thrown weapons now (Yes it is; crazy, right?), will this proc an applied poison like any simple thrown attack? I imagine it would; allowing you to stick a Mind-Numbing or Wound poison to a target at-range.

it also works as a nice improved get away (for a re-stealth) form a melee class. Gouge them, and then when the gouge breaks deadly throw with the combo point the gouge generated. Theres no way they could get back on you (unless your stunned... or an OPed as sh*t hunter comes out of nowere, concussive shots you and hunter marks, really hate when that happens)

In MoPandaria this ability does decent damage compared to Eviscerate.

If you need to spend some CPs fast and can not approach your target or use SnD, casting Deadly Throw can be useful.

Subtlety's combo point regen that is based on yourself and your raid mates critting can be useful to provide CPs for DThrow when you can not reach the target yourself.

rogues frostshock, and coupled with the PvP glove(at 70) this'll be an earthshock as well.with ruthlessness, you can be able to use deadly throw a few times before you have no combo points.

I could think of a thousand situations in which Deadly Throw would be the deciding factor. Against hunters that kite. Against classes that remove poisons. Against opponents that try to run and you have a combo point on them ((Spam Deadly Throw if you have Ruthlesness)). ANd with the PvP glove... the use becomes limitless...with Ruthlessness, fighting a mage becomes EZ mod. I can't wait to get the gloves. DT owns

first of all its darnassus, and second barely any alliance go there, usually ali only go to IF and SW, and their pvp has to be up, and I doubt u can get 2k on 2 combo points even with the pvp glove...noob

The funny thing is that they get easily owned by protection paladins,that use the rogue's rappid attacks to their advantage.
EVERY rogue hate reckoning.
Also,it's hard to stunlock a paladin when they spam rank 1 consecration the whole time.

rogues can easy get kited with or w/o sprint or cos, happily they will get a buff this patch

Ok, I have read a lot of the posts here and one thing I noticed is that most of the rogues that check this site do not know how to write English. Maybe I suck too, I can accept that, but you play your class at level 64 and you can't tell the difference between premeditation and preparation, you say "subtility" instead of subtley and all the #$%^ like that.

Don't misunderstand me, I wrote "most" and I fully respect the really skilled rogues.

Anyways, to be a little on-topic (which I guess isn't necessary on a site like this xD): Deadly Throw is really good in PvP. I use it all the time, almost as often I can. It's not overpowered, and I'm aware of that I use it more than I really have to, but it gives rogues who have sprint on CD to catch up with kiting classes, like locks and hunters (which is pretty hard to kill even if you get close). I don't care about how much damage it does, that is never what I think of when I use it, but hey... Extra damage... Who doesn't want that? ^^ If I have 5 CP, I'd normally wait and use Eviscerate or Kidney Shot instead. x)

I just leveled my rogue alt to 64, but i have a 70 resto druid and i can say I hate DT as druid. I dont know much about it as rogue yet.

As Druid in arenas i usualy try to suvive the rogues opening on me, guess what, 1 more thing to worry about...

O, and is really hard to get a good trown wepon around 64-65 or just i cant find any?
