It should ‘roll’ like Ignite does. That is to say, that at the end of the fight, total Blackout Kick DoT damage should exactly be 20% of your Blackout Kick direct damage, regardless of any overlaps in the DoT effects (minus the usual rounding differences and whatever overkill damage there was, of course).

Blackout Kick refunds energy for Windwalkers and Mistweavers but intentionally does not do so for Brewmasters, as per GC's post below.

A hotfix will be going out soon that makes Blackout Kick once again refund Chi on miss / dodge / parry if you don’t know Brewmaster Training (Windwalkers, Mistweavers, and pre-lvl 34 Brewmasters).

Note that Blackout Kick still applies the shuffle buff for Brewmasters even when it doesn't hit.

As a windwalker, you can spam Blackout Kick without loosing any damage from the DoT!

Imagine if this hits for 100k (not doing crits or anything, just hits) thats 20,000 damage over 4 seconds (5,000 damage/second).
Then you use it again when the DoT has 2 seconds left (10,000 damage) the DoT duration gets refreshed, and the damage is now 30,000 over 4 seconds (7,500 damage/second).

Basically, the Blackout Kick DoT Damage rolls into the next application, so you dont loose anything by refreshing the DoT, the damage adds on, so go on, spam away!

So can anybody explain me how this spell actually scales? I have no idea what all of this tooltip nonsense means..
And why the f*ck would you put in x*y*1? *1 means it is the same. Take it out the tooltip then ffs.

What is: mwb, MWB, MWS and all that nonsense? And why are they in there 14,000 times? SIMPLIFY this formula please. This is horrible.

Anyways, on my mistweaver monk in full healing gear, my blackout kick does 16k damage. When I switch my weapon to a WW weapon though, it does a whopping 24k damage.

Meaning the weapon damage scaling is very important as well. For simply switching the weapon increased damage by 8k, or 50%.

So... Does this not scale off weapon damage? Cause i'm leveling my Mistweaver and I keep trying to get weapons that deal decent damage but it's not so easy... lol

Blackout Kick will gain the Shuffle buff for Brewmasters at level 34 when they get Brewmaster Training.

List of Stagger Increasing abilities:

All Are Additive
Blackout Kick (applies Shuffle) by way of Brewmaster Training.
Rushing Jade Wind (applies Shuffle)
Fortifying Brew
Mastery: Elusive Brawler
Staggering which is Item - Monk T15 Brewmaster 2P Bonus

This means using Blackout Kick increases by a flat 20%, regardless of Fortifying Brew, Mastery: Elusive Brawler, or Staggering.
