Recently started doing ICC bosses and was wondering if most of you bring out the Doomguard for bosses. Only thing I'm worried about is the thing is so slow. My felguard gets into the action quick with his charge. Maybe for stationary fights go with the Doomguard? For instance the other day we got Festergut down to 2% and wiped. Would the doomguard of helped us finish him off over the felguard?

the doomguard is currently not a DPS increase for any spec.

doomguards were used on cooldown by affliction warlocks before changes were made to make the felhunter much better when talented.
it now has no niche in current PvE play.

the infernal is only a good pet for specs that don't have fel-dom who lose their pet with less than a minute remaining in the encounter. if more than a minute remains then they should just spend the long cast time re-summoning their usual pet.

as you can imagine, this should rarely happen (if ever!).
if your pet is dying much (read: at all) then you're probably doing something wrong and should take a point or two in fel synergy (available to all specs).
