So much of Pandaria does not have comments that help the players who are stuck. I am one. I do not know what to do about the underwater current that is pushing me away from my kill and from the empty pot. Any detailed instructions would be appreciated.

Am I just supposed to be skilled enough at movement to do this?

I found it too unpleasant to complete. I abandoned both this and feeding the otters. If anyone know a method for coping with the current I would love to hear it.

The target mobs have reasonably low hit points compared to other mobs in the zone, so try and gather 3 or 4 up at a time and just aoe them down (angel of death buff helps too). This will reduce the monotony of this quest. Slightly.

This quest is a drag, but quit easy. Watch out for the blue fish, only take out the yellow ones; they have what you want. If you have to take out a blue one or it is attacking you, stay at the back of him, so when he spreads the blue ink (or something) you wont get blown away. If it does happen. Then swim to the surface and go down behind the fish, you wont be bothered by the stream, which takes you further away and you can take the loot then.

If another player has the stream, it will be in your way too, so be aware of that too.

I started this quest and was baiting the pots; then tried to save up enough to do several at once.
I killed 34 without a single quest drop. Took the two i had in my bag and baited a trap. Next kill dropped two. Seems you need to bait the traps as you go to get the drops

If anyone else is having trouble doing this quest and the other underwater one because they don't have the Mazu's Breath buff from the previous quest, try flying up north to a new area and come back.

Mine popped on me after I flew north and came back to the ocean.

Go to the Area west of the green penisula SE of the quest giver

.. if you get in a current swim sideways against it.. you'll get out of it.

.. Drop rate at that locationwas over 100%, from reading other comments it sounds like you might be better off not saving up to 20... i saved 4 or 5 at a time and used them (2per) to bait the traps spawing around me. I'd guess killing 15 to 17 yellow fish total would be enough.

... you should be able to complete the feed-the-otters quest while focusing on waiting form more of the yellow fish(which drop the needed items) to come into range . To avoid the non-quest blue fish I didn't venture too far from the cliff, atlhough I could have gone farther without being washed away.

.... you will likely need to kill a few of the blue groupers ...but they had a very small agro zone though for me at lvl 89 just a matter if you wanted to be patient or swim into danger to get the fish with the quest drops

... of course, as a holy pally all the fisht took almost minute each to kill with the Blue non quest fish taking longer...but thats the breaks of the class and spec

For those of you "stuck" on this quest, maybe I can help.

You need to go into the sea southwest of the questgiver and kill Sea Monarch for drops of Sea Monarch Chunks.

You will need 2 Sea Monarch Chunks per Empty Crab Pot to get credit for baiting it. Repeating the baiting process 9 more times (10 total, of course) and you are done. Good luck!

Don't delete your leftover fish chunk from your bags apparently after finishing this. I did and for whatever reason it removed the quest from my logs. Don't know if it was triggered by me deleting it or not but i never abandoned it and now I've gotta wait for respawns >.>

A few notes -- it says you need to kill the Sea Monarchs, but the Dreadmaw Groupers work just as well. Also, you need 2 of the Chunks per trap -- don't get confused like me when looting only one on my first kill and not being able to click the trap. Oh, and walk on the ground (use your 'x' key) instead of swimming and it'll be faster.

I wasn't planning on questing with the Klaxxi as this was my 6th 90 and I already quested here with two characters, but I needed replacement shoulders to start raiding (and I was getting tired of waiting for them to drop in heroics), so I was going to do this quest chain because the final quest that gave me my new shoulders is The Mariner's Revenge The Mariner's Revenge). When I got to the Dread Wastes, though, the quest wasn't open.

At first, I thought that it would've been available because they weren't part of the Klaxxi -- they're the Anglers -- however, I remembered from questing on my other 90s that this chain actually unlocks one of the paragons, so I needed to unlock the other ones first. This info wasn't mentioned here, but I just wanted to say that in case anyone else was wondering.

I kept checking after unlocking each paragon and these were the ones that unlocked Fresh Pots. Well, I'm not sure if both of these quests were required or just one -- I turned them in at the same time and forgot to see which one unlocked it -- but it was once I turned in Concentrated Fear Concentrated Fear and A Cry From Darkness A Cry From Darkness.

Worth noting that though the quest text says go southwest, the quest area is actually southeast. If you use the quest tracker then you probably wouldn't notice, but anyone not using it may have trouble finding it if you rely on the shoddy description.

Every time I baited a pot, my extra meat disappeared.

Get two meat, then bait a trap--don't hold onto it and kill extra fish or you will waste a lot of time waiting for respawn.

Fresh Pots

Bait 10 Empty Crab Pots in Lonesome Cove. Each pot requires 2 Sea Monarch Chunks.

Description

We got a load of empty crab pots out there that need fresh bait.

Now, we COULD pull them one at a time and bait them up here in comfort. A nice chair to sit on, maybe a hot cup of tea to keep you warm. Sounds nice, doesn't it?

Never gonna happen.

Head to Lonesome Cove, immediately southwest, and bait those pots with two chunks of fresh sea monarch. By "fresh" I mean killed right there in the water.

Oh, and by "pots" I mean traps. If you wanna be part of the crew, you'd better learn the lingo.
