Walk across the bridge to the right after killing Lord Banehollow and speak with Arcanist Delaris to get a portal back to Wildheart Point.

I could not find my way to Lord Banehollow. I wound up at the portal out of the Dungeon with him on the other side of a pit. If someone could post directions, it might help the next guy.

Also, this is an awesome quest chain. It uses the new turn-in-quest-in-the-field feature, so you basically do a mini, 4 boss solo dungeon.

Just did this quest, and the Arcanist disappeared just as I got to the portal, taking the portal with her. If anyone else has this problem, you might try what I did, not wanting to bother fighting my way back out: Kill Lord Banehollow again, kiting him to the center of the bridge between him and the Arcanist and then not stopping to loot him, just run for the portal.

This quest is part of a family of quests in this same cave complex.

Kill anything in the cave for The Inner Circle and make sure to check for braziers for Dousing the Flames of Protection while going through the cave. Along the way you'll go through this chain killing named mobs:
The Demon Prince
Twin Temptresses
Shadow Lord Fel'dan
Lord Banehollow

After you're all done, there's a port out to the quest givers, and then you pick up The Fate of Bloodvenom Post to move on with the zone.

How to find Lord Banehollow

After killing Shadow Lord Fel'Dan, there is a large doorway behind him (just up on the platform he's standing in front of). Run through it and you'll reach a red pool full of more oozes. Stay on the path - don't enter the pool - and veer off to your right, heading up the ramp.

At the top of the ramp you'll find two Jaedenar Legionnares standing guard in front of a small bridge.

Lord Banehollow is standing on his own platform just past this bridge.

Not sure if pre-patch bugginess, but after killing him, no arcanist appeared but a portal did. Unfortunately, the portal did not work, always telling me I needed to be closer even when I was standing right on it. I hearthed out.

Quest seems to be extremly bugged on Cataclysm Classic.
It won't even start after killing Shadow Lord Fel'dan.

Where are you guys seeing the Arcanist after killing him? There was no portal when I killed him first so I waited for a respawn and it appeared beside him. However it wouldn't do anything when I clicked it and disappeared. Killed him again and no portal. Ran across bridges and checked around. No portal

I killed Lord Banehollow, the Arcanist did not show and the portal did not function. I tried the bridge strategy but no success. Sorry, but I don't have a solution other than fighting your way back out.
