These are found in the Thunder King's Citadel scenario. You must open 10 in one run for one section of the In the Hall of the Thunder King achievement. Here's a video showing how to get 10 quickly and easily in the first and second rooms. Opening one of these chests can also spawn Skumblade Pillager who drops Handful of Stolen Gems for the same achievement.

These chests are scattered throughout the instance(some in plain sight, others hidden on ledges or behind pillars). Significantly, there are 2 close together in the final room guarded by God-Hulk Gulkan who also carries one on his back which he drops when killed. This insures a great reward if you get to and defeat him with time to spare. Good luck!

Chest found inside Troves of the Thunder King.

The best (or at least easiest) place to get these is the first room. The only mobs in that room are the spiders, which are all on the floor and die in one hit. It takes a little bit of jumping and climbing to access them all and a slowfall/glider/glyph of the falling avenger ability can be helpful to get to some areas. If you have no slowfall like ability, consider buying Potion of Light Steps for when you get up to the top.

As soon as you enter to the solo instance, turn to your right and look for the set of little boxes on the floor next to the ledge that goes around all the walls. Use the boxes (or any smaller treasure chest near the wall) to jump up on the ledge and make your way around the room, staying on the ledges and climbing up more boxes to new areas when you see them. I easily got 6 or 7 of these larger treasure boxes within the first 3 minutes of my 5 minute timer in the first room.

Keep in mind, you can use the smaller red and white Mogu Treasure Chests as a step ladder before you click on them to jump up so before you click the smaller boxes, see if you can use them to get up to another area first, then reach down and loot them. Some areas require you to jump up on the boxes first as looting them removes your 'ladder' to get up.

One mistake I made was using Essence of the Breeze to try to run faster. Every time you jump, it pushes you forward slightly so you go faster. This is great for long stretches on the floor to get across the rooms quickly but terrible for climbing boxes and rubble. It can essentially 'glitch' you through the boxes or rubble and get you stuck. I ended up removing the buff after figuring out it was not worth it and still was able to get 5 Burial Trove Keys from my run which is what I really wanted.

Doing this in the third week, I found zero in the first room (unlike the videos on youtube and the claims in comments made here), and only managed to get 4 golden chests. Does anyone have any tips for looting 10 of these? I'm finding it very difficult.

This achievement is a A LOT easier once you have hit exalted, and have access to polymorphic keys. I was screwed out of it cause the Saurok bugged my 2nd door out. Next week or if I get a 2nd key I will def try this with The keys from exalted :D Saves a good 1 min dealing with adds/maneuvering to levers.

I counted out ten chests in this weeks run(11 if i count the one i got just as time ran out) and no achievement credit. I know theres nothing i can do about it but i need to vent, been trying for 10 chests for 3 weeks now and i should have gotten it this morning.

Two things I've noticed with the counting of these chests towards In the Hall of the Thunder King:

The chest the Skumblade Pillager does not count, if you find him, you'll need 11 chests.
If you can't loot a chest because your inventory is full, or you're maxed out on Elder Charm of Good Fortune, it will still count even if the chest doesn't despawn.
