Seems to only have 3 abilities different from the actual pet that you can obtain which has 6. Also it is classified as an Elite. Possibly in the Timeless Isle "tournament" is only against NPC's? and maybe this is 1 of the 4 celestial pets that you battle?

One of the four celestial offspring you fight in the new tournament on the Timeless Isle. You can purchase Yu'la, Broodling of Yu'lon, which teaches you Yu'la, Broodling of Yu'lon, after winning the tournament for 3 Celestial Coin.

I used Crimson Geode, Cogblade Raptor & Arctic Hare. Next time I'm gonna try pets with more dodge. I got into a nice rotation with the Arctic Hare, and got him down quick. :)

Yu’la, Broodling of Yu’lon
Yu’la is a dragon. She has three abilities: Jade Breath, Emerald Presence, and Lift Off. Lift Off is the same as any other dragon/flyer, except that, naturally, it hits harder. Emerald Presence is your basic dragon version of Shell (knocking damage off of each attack), so if you’re straying from the plan below, avoid multi-hit attacks as a general rule. Jade Breath is, once again, nothing special, just your basic powered-up dragon breath attack (no dot or puddle after).

My lineup:
Fox (Bite, Howl)
Scourged Whelpling (Tail Sweep, Call Darkness)
Note: I opted for Tail Sweep instead of Shadowflame, despite the split-hit because of its higher accuracy.
Pandaren Monk (Takedown, Fury of 1,000 Fists)

My Strategy:
Start with the Fox
1) Use Bite
2) Use Howl
Bring in your Scourged Whelpling
1) Use Call Darkness
2) Use Tail Sweep
Bring in your Pandaren Monk
1) Use Fury of 1,000 Fists for heavy damage and Stun (Darkness causes blind)
2) Use Takedown. Deals Double damage because of the stun.
3) Spam Takedown to finish her off if she is near death.

I guess you could repeat if necessary, but that was all it took for me. This was the easiest of the celestials for me, by far, probably owing to the fact that she although she mitigates damage, she doesn’t heal. Note that Focus Chi isn’t needed because the 35%-HP cap would waste most of it anyway. Note that the 10% miss chance from Darkness may cause you to need a contingency plan, so have a second team ready if you can.

Credit where credit is due: I used the plan posted by hootstwo as a jumping off point. We did end up going pretty different directions with it, but I felt it only fair to acknowledge his contribution.

1. alpine Foxling. bite, howl. switch to Scourage Whelpling.

2. Scourage Whelpling. call of darkness, switch to Flayer Younglin

3. Flayer Youngling. kick, then biltz then switch back to alpine foxling and go again same rotation.

Finally got it with:

Unborn Val'kyr (Shadow Slash, Curse of Doom, Unholy Ascension)
+
Lil' Bad Wolf (Counterstrike, Dodge, Howl)

I used Curse of Doom and Shadow Slash until the Val'kyr had died and was on its extra Undead round, then Unholy Ascension right before death. Then Howl>Counterstrike>Dodge on the Lil' Bad Wolf.

This fight seems very RNG sensitive regardless of team though.

easy fight with Greagarious Grell.He just need start rounds as first, so I started with beast, used Dazzling Dance.I'm not sure but if GG is faster than YuLa, you don't even need 1st pet.So then I swapped to GG.Punch for damage dealing, Cauterize for big heal after GG got hit, Phase shift against Lift.GG killed him alone.

Was running out of pets on this one after a few tries, but eventually Nether Faerie Dragon (Life Exchange) and Minfernal (Crush till nearly dead then Explode) brought it down low enough that my Sporeling Sprout only needed 2 hits to finish it off. Phew!

Without a doubt the easiest due to the fact that he down't have a heal. I beat him with 2 pets. Chrominius and Anubisath Idol. I started with Bit since he ALWAYS uses Lift Off first. I then used Howl, Bite once, and Surge of Power right before Chrominius died. Pulled out Anubisath Idol. Used Crush till he died. The only acceptation was when I used Deflection for Lift Off. I had Hopling as backup if anything went wrong.

I had stunted yeti, use stun and haymaker, if it misses flee and start over since u didnt take any dmg and then kun lai runt - its op against it

A max level Pandaren Monk pet can almost solo Yu'la. Simply take Jab, Staggered Steps and either of the tier three abilities. Since Monk has speed initiative, poke Yu'la with your damage abiities until she flies into the air. Use Staggered Steps to shrug off a massive amount of the damage and keep smacking her. Your humanoid passive will heal you for a fair amount while you're trading off. If your monk does fall, any other humanoid pet should be enough to finish her off.

Sadly this strategy does not work 100% of the times anymore. See robew's comment for an explaination. It still suggests a strategy involving our precious kitty at the end of the post

Another strategy to keep the kitty power going is from kurri's comment who suggests to end the fight with an Anubisath Idol after our favorite undead cat dies.

Soloed with Mr. Bigglesworth using:

- Claw
- Ice Barrier
- Ice Tomb

Yu'la's attack sequence is:
- Emerald Presence
- Lift-Off
- Jade Breath
- Jade Breath
- Jade Breath

Rotation Used:
- Claw
- Ice tomb
- Ice Barrier
- PASS TURN
- Claw
- Claw
- Repeat (including the first claw)

(Unneeded) Explaination:

Mr. Bigglesworth is faster than Yu'la, which allows you to have more control on the fight, and the combo Ice Tomb + Ice Barrier is very effective against scripted fights, since Yu'la will keep attacking even with the barrier up wasting his attacks while Ice Tomb comes down, which will also prevent another Jade Breath due to the stun. Moreover, with this strategy you will receive very little damage during the fight (compared to getting all attacks):
Jade Breath does less damage against Mr. Bigglesworth (since he's Undead) and he will manage to succesfully use only one during the rotation as one will be blocked by ice barrier and the other won't be casted because of Ice Tomb's stun (he will continue with his rotation rather than delaying it to cast a 3rd Jade Breath), on top of that, since there are no attacks made close to each other, he'll never benefit from the dragon buff. Finally, his Lift-Off will be blocked by Ice Barrier. Mr. Bigglesworth has very little HP but, except in the case where you are very unlucky, he won't die (my worst fight was when i had 2 missed claws and got a crit from a jade breath, but i managed to solo Yu'la in the "Death Turn")

- On the first turn, Yu'la will use Emerald Presence, you can just Claw.
- Then he will Lift-Off, you will use Ice Tomb (since Mr. Bigglesworth is faster, the attack will hit before Lift-Off)
- Use Ice Barrier to block Lift-Off attack, then pass the next turn so he'll break the barrier with his Jade Breath, allowing Ice Tomb to hit
- Yu'la is stunned, which will prevent him from using one of the Jade Breaths in his rotation
- Keep Clawing until he uses Emerald Presence again.
- The turn after he uses Emerald Presence he will Lift-Off, so you can keep track of the Emerald Presence to know when you have to use Ice Tomb and then Ice Barrier. Like before, use Ice Tomb in the same turn when he'll Lift-Off (tip: you can easily time your attacks after the first rotation because you will have to use them as soon as the cooldown is ready, so after the first time, just use them when ready)
- Rinse and Repeat

Make sure you put Claw and not Pounce
Even though Mr. Bigglesworth is faster than Yu'la (which would make Pounce potentially deal more damage than Claw), Pounce's damage is actually split in 2 attacks, which will be reduced by the "boss" buff and Emerald Presence, while the extra damage from Pounce will be completely blocked.
There is still a chance to win with Pounce as 1st skill (i did it for mistake the first time i fought Yu'la, when i came out with this strategy), but it'll take way longer.

I have to admit i'm not sure if he uses Emerald Presence just before Lift-Off, i was using Pettracker to keep track of Lift-Off CD and i used Ice Tomb whenever i saw Lift-Off was ready. But i'm pretty sure that's the correct sequence (if someone can confirm this, otherwise i'll do by myself the next ti'me i'll fight Yu'la) Rotation confirmed (Thanks Quaaid for confirmation and more precise attack routine, i was too focused on the fight to keep track of my attacks but i wanted to share this strategy as soon as possible)(##RESPBREAK##)258##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##

I Suggest leaving Yu'la as last because, just like Wrathion in the first part of the tournament, you can use it to heal your pets as you won't get any damage until the third turn. You can use a pet with Wish (like Magic Lamp) or a pet with a Team Heal (like crickets) then abandon the fight. Repeat until all pets are healed

Soloed by Clock'em, just Jabed for death. Use Dodge when Yu'la going up (Clock'em is faster).
You can also use Kun-Lai Runt for being sure, Frost Shock, Deep Freeze, Takedown combo should finish her off.

Peddlefeet does so much damage to him intially which makes this fight a joke. If you ever get in trouble Mr Bigglesworth is there to finish him.

Three of the celestials (not Xu Fu) can be defeated with the following strategy completely without fail:

Open with any undead who can cast Curse of Doom (Click the link for a list of pets) and just do damage until your "death round" and then use Curse of Doom. It is important that you don't use it until your death round.

Bring out your Pandaren Water Spirit and use Geyser then Whirlpool.

Finally, change pets to Chrominius. Use Howl. The enemy now is hit by double damage from Curse of Doom, Geyser, and Whirlpool simultaneously. If the enemy somehow survives, it is now stunned and ready for you to unleash a double damage Surge of Power which WILL finish the job.

The only pet that will die in this strategy is your first undead pet, so bring several of them. Save one of the non Xu Fu celestials for last, so you can enter battle with them and heal on the first round (none of the celesitals other than Xu Fu attack on the first round) and quit the battle to heal up your other two pets between fights.

I still don't have a clean, failproof strategy for Xu Fu, but overwhelming him with mechanicals seems to work best. Make sure you overwrite his Moonfire with Call Lightning (Tranquil Mechanical Yeti works great for this) so that he might miss and so that he doesn't heal more and just beat on him with mechanical attacks.

I had kind of a rough time when I didn't have any undead pets left due to some poor plays on my part. I was able to get her down by using three flies that had Scratch, Cocoon Strike, and Glowing Toxin. Apply the toxin and don't let it drop. Use the Cocoon Strike to mitigate the Lift Off, and swap flies after a Cocoon Strike to mitigate some of the Jade Breaths with the other flies' Cocoon Strikes. Use Scratch for filler when needed. The flies were also levels 22 and 23, and two were green quality with the third being rare. All of them had some speed in their stats, but none were really ideal - H/S, P/S, B/B. Being able to take some of the incoming damage off the table led to the toxin doing its work (6% of total health done per tick).

Thought I'd post my experience with this fight for the past two weeks and hopefully help some others make it easier on themselves.

I used humanoid pets with stuns and interrupts because I had read that it makes the fight a joke and tbh, I haven't noticed because both weeks my Monk (pet store version) has solo'd her both weeks.

Now not everyone will want to race to spend 10 bucks on a pixel pet in a video game that may or may not live forever but I'm that big of a nerd where I was all about it. So if you are one of those that would not rather spend the 10 bucks I will suggest humanoids with a guaranteed dodge like Anub Idol, and a stun or interrupt from a fast pet just to make it a little easier with less incoming damage.
Examples would be Feral Vermling with his ability to Backflip or Flayer Youngling with his ability to kick.

However with my monk the 3 abilities I chose for him are: Takedown, Staggered Steps, and Blackout kick

Open with blackout kick to get the stun, Takedown while stunned for bonus damage, Takedown again as she'll use her shielding ability, then she will fly up in the air and since the monk is faster use Staggered Steps to take 50% less damage. Rinse and repeat and use your Staggered Steps to block the high hitting air ability she has and its good game. It's worked very well and both weeks so far the monk has solo'd her and survived the entire fight taking no losses on the team at all.

I hope this helps anyone having trouble on this fight and as always best of luck to all my pet nerds out there.

I solo'd Yu'la using Clock'em; Just used Jab, and Dodge when he did Lift Off.
Clock'em is always faster, so you know when to Dodge.
I had Kun-Lai Runt an Feline Familiar as back up, but I idk if they're good here.

Beat her with a combination of two strategies here.

Start with a Pandaren Water Spirit, and cast Geyser first, then Whirlpool.

Then switch to a Fox with at least one 'S' in its breed. I used a P/S Arctic Fox Kit. It MUST have a speed greater than her 287, the Fox I used was 289. You'll take the full force of Lift Off, but that doesn't matter, because it's not enough to kill you. On the next round use Howl. You'll die, but that's OK.

Switch to a Gregarious Grell. Use Cauterize if you're hurt, Phase Shift to avoid her Lift Off, and Punch otherwise.

Really easy solo with bonkers. Mine was a p/s breed; you should be fine with any breed with a speed above 287. Take Jab/Dodge/Tornado Puch. Tornado punch when you can. Dodge when Yu'la uses Flight. Fill with jab.

This may sound crazy, but I nearly soloed with a bunny. That's right... a rabbit pet. Don't get me wrong, rabbit pets aren't super powerful, however between the burrow & dodge abilities I was able to miss the uplift attack and breath abilities a lot. Plus I basically got two free attacks in when she put up her shield, and right before she flew up. (The bunny is faster, so you go first, which is important.) If you're lucky enough to have the Darkmoon Rabbit, his first ability also has a bleed effect, that might even help more. It was basically like getting pecked to death by a duck. But it worked! So if you're down to your last straw, and are looking for pets that are still alive to beat her, don't overlook your rabbits... Hope this unexpected (and probably crazy sounding) advice helps to get you your victory.

Edit: I wanted to add in what order works the best for me.
Rabbit uses the 1st ability (usually Scratch) TWICE. Then Dodge. Then Burrow. So, the encounter would look like this:
Bunny Pet > Scratch ---- Yu'la > Emerald Presence
Bunny Pet > Scratch ---- Yu'la > Lift-off (flies up)
Bunny Pet > Dodge ---- Yu'la > Lift-off (attacks)
Bunny Pet > Scratch (as Dodge should still be up) ---- Yu'la > Jade Breath
Bunny Pet > Burrow (go under ground) ---- Yu'la > Jade Breath
Bunny Pet > Burrow (attack) ---- Yu'la > Jade Breath (yes you'll take some damage)
*Now keep using scratch until it's time to dodge the lift-off ability.... rinse & repeat basically.

I personally use two rabbit pets and Bonkers (although, I've never had to ever use my third pet yet).

I wish I have Mr. Bigglesworth. Unfortunately I don't have, therefore I can't use this popular strategy.

**This strategy actually work perfectly, not sure why people down vote it.

Here is what I used:
1. Scourge Whelpling - The sole purpose of this pet is to cast Call Darkness and MOST IMPORTANTLY you must TAKE 3 ROUNDS of damage. So cast Call Darkness, then use Shadowflame, you going to miss it for sure because Yu'la will be in the air, take damage from Lift and use Shadowflame once more.

2. Pandaren Monk - Then bring your monk in. Start using 1000 Fists, after that Yu' la should be stun, then use use Focus and thenTake Down. Repeat. This pet will likely die.

3. By the time Pandaren Monk die, Yu'la should have very little health left. use Anusbisath Idol to finish her off.

As of today, I went in to fight the celestial tournament. I noticed 2 things. First off, Xuen is now harder to beat, because he heals no matter what you do.

2nd. Mr. Bigglesworth CANNOT solo Yu'lon anymore. In fact, after several attempts, I cannot bring her down anymore.

Blizzard apparently ninja changed this fight. THANKS BLIZZARD. !@#$%^&s. Its bad enough we have to level 30+ pets to even attempt this tournament, but going chicken%^&* behind everyone's backs is just plain disregard for the players who worked hard for the pets.

I like to combo my Scourged Whelpling with Pandaren Monk to beat this foe. I use Darkness from the whelpling, almost guaranteeing a stun when I then use the monk's Fury of 1,000 Fists, followed by Takedown. I usually put a humanoid type pet in the third slot and use their hits as filler.

After finding out the hard way that Clock'Em is only faster than Yu'la when he's level 25, I tried for another team composition.

My team comprised of:

Tolai Hare - B/B
Tolai Hare Pup - H/B
Any third pet

Both of the rabbits must be faster in order for this to work. In my case, there was no RNG-friendliness as far as Yu'la missing attacks, as the attacks she does hit with are few - the rest are getting dodged.

I opened with two scratches. When she did her lift-off, I'd respond with burrow. Once lift-off "lands", I'd hit dodge. The rest of the fight consists of using dodge on cooldown, and using burrow in response to lift-off. Scratch in between.

When the first rabbit gets low, you can either let it die, or swap to the other one to repeat the procedure.

Didn't see it here but the standard epic-killer works...
1) Unborn Val'kyr - Doom, then some other attack while Yu'la in the air, Haunt
2) Chrominius - Howl, Surge immedeately after
3) Pandaren Monk cleans up

For this fight, I have great experience using:
2 x Dandelion Frolicker
1 x Whatever hardhitting pet. I use Bonkers

So first off, have your hardhitting pet go first, before she puts up her shield, hit her with that attack.

After that, take in your Dandelion Frolicker

Use Kick preferably 1 round before her shield wears off, for the extra damage, but most importantly is to use Frolick when she lifts off.
Your filler damage dealing ability should be Scratch

If you got very good rng, you can solo her with this pet.. If it's bad your second frolicker will also die, and your 3rd pet has to be swapped back in to finish her.

I think Peddlefeet is a great pet for this fight.

I open with Perfumed Arrow. If I'm feeling saucy, I leave the fight if it doesn't stun.

Thus, Perfumed Arrow (nostun) > Shot Through the Heart > Bow Shot > Death
Or Perfumed Arrow (stun) > Bow Shot > Bow Shot > Shot Through the Heart > Bow Shot > Death

By now, Yu'la is at like 30% life from those 4ish rounds. Options then are the obvious Runt, Biggles, or Scourged Whelp/Monk combo.

Higher speed rabbits are fine. Just use Burrow when Yu'la casts Lift-Off. Protect yourself using Dodge.

I killed him quicker with a S/S Bonkers than with Mr. Bigglesworth. I used Jab, Dodge and Tornado Punch.

Start with Tornado Punch. Jab until Lift Off. Dodge. Jab. Rinse and repeat. Yu'la hit me once.

Nether Faerie Dragon- Arcane Blast, Life Exchange, Moonfire
Unborn Val'kyr- Shadow Slash, Curse of Doom, Unholy Ascension
Chrominius- Bite, Howl, Surge of Power

Start by casting Moonfire. This will give 10% more attack to Surge. Arcane blast in between. Then once fly is on cooldown, use Life Exchange before you die, and then use Moonfire after that. Next round you should die. Bring out Valk. Cast Curse and then Shadow Slash until Curse has 2 rounds left, then cast Unholy Ascension. Next Chrominius is out. Cast howl, and curse should hit next round for massive damage. Cast Surge if you need to. Yu'la should be down.
Good Luck! This worked for me on the first try, and I have only tried it once. Idk if RNG is a major factor. Tell me how it goes!

Start with the following rotation:
-Claw
-Ice Tomb
-Ice Barrier
-PASS

After that first rotation, repeat the next rotation:
-Claw
-Claw
-Claw
-Ice Tomb
-Ice Barrier
-PASS

you will most likely win with just Mr. Biggs right there

My Team

Opened with Zep and build Decoy. Switch to Pandaren Water Spirit. Geyser, the Whirlpool. Switch to Core Hound Pup. Howl. Burrow. Switch back to Zep. Decoy, Missile (x4). All pets live.

14 rounds.

Unborn Valkyr (1,2,2) - slash until lift off, keep slashing until he breathes, then Curse of Doom, when he comes down from next lift off and kills you, Holy Ascension, and one last slash
Sunborne Valkry (1,2,1) - Surge of Light, Holy Charge, Holy Strike, but if Yu'lu's cycle is off and lifts off you switch to your third pet and it dies and then back to Sunborne Val'kyr to finish him off. Repeat Surge of Light, Holy Charge, Holy Strike.
third pet - I used Sporeling Sprout (1,2,1) but one with Deflection might be better to avoid the hit

It is still a scary fight after many of these Celestial Tournaments. Because they end so close or you need to improvise. Not lots of room for error but definitely interesting.

12.0 Midnight, did Yu-La with three Rabbits/Hares.
H/P breed proved to be best for me here, it is probably most optimal for this fight.
S/S will not damage Boss at all if damage reduction spell is up.

Breeds I successfully used for this fight:
1.Olivetail Hare S/S 1-2-1
2.Rabbit H/P 1-2-1
3.Rabbit S/B 1-2-1

All rabbits/hares have enormous speed so it is most useful to use Power or Balance breeds, as those will get damage thru even if boss damage reduction is up.
Rabbits will STILL get first to attack.

My rotation was something like:
1 Scratch
2 Scratch (Yu-La lifts off, you don't wanna get hit with this)
3 Dodge
4 Scratch
5 Burrow
..and repeat.
Takes a lot of turns.
