Although they use the same model, Cockroach and roach are two separate creatures. Both are capturable as battle pets, though, so if you are a collector, be sure to keep that in mind and grab one of each.

Immediately used him in a few PvP matches. Found the Cockroach to be pretty effective - fast and hits hard with Hiss + Flank. But I really want him for Apocalypse.

Also found in Howling Fjord, though it seems to only be a secondary in battles. I've seen level 21 and 22 so far, but have not come across a rare yet. I believe the ones in Howling Fjord are the highest level available in the wild.

Roaches can be found as a primary around Gjalerbron in the north part of Howling Fjord. It took about an hour and a half to finally get a rare roach. Level 22 during battle became level 20 rare roach after capture. They aslo come as secondary to the other creatures around Gjalerbron but the rares are indeed rare.

This area is odd in that the pool of pets that appear in Gjalerbron is made up of "generics". Roach, Rat, and Spider are the primaries available. Those plus Rabbit, Snake, Maggot, Skunk, Turkey, Chicken, and Squirrel are the main pool of secondaries. They are infrequently joined by other Howling Fjord battle pets as secondaries.

I forgot to mention this, but I got a rare one (forgot what level it was though..) once or maybe twice, this truly is a good one, if ya get an uncommon one or better assumingly, you should have an easy time with pet battling.

Just caught a rare one in Desolace during a Stoned Armadilla fight :)

Came to back his friend up - ended up getting a beat down followed by a wooden cage.
