Fully agree, we need the total amount platinum old battle pass system had, 800-1000 or so per season...Why is this reduced like 80% or so it feels in the New version?
Is water wet
yes, its a FOMO battle pass...
The fact we didnt get a free transmog with this one made it already much worse.
I'd like to see an item side-by-side comparison between an old battle passes' rewards and the new reliquary rewards. I'm willing to bet it's the exact same amount of items, just priced differently. Is it more expensive now? Sure. Is there less "free" platinum? Sure. But as someone who's purchased previous battle passes and who has also purchased the reliquary bundle (not the deluxe), I struggle to fathom why people who do not engage with the paid cosmetic content consistently are so feather-ruffled about the developers and artists adjusting the price-tag on their work and time.ARPGs (specifically Diablo-likes) are efficiency games - where a given player must solve for endless resources or other variables in a given build so they can complete content as fast as possible. If players are unable to use basic cognition and mathematical problem solving to make strong, efficient builds - what hope can they have to understand the simplicity of the in-game shop?I don't even buy every battle pass, only the ones with themes that interest me - transmogs that really speak to me. I spent $10 on a given previous battle pass, and I spent $10 on this season's reliquary system. I don't know why other people can't figure it out as I have.
Definitely a clear downgrade. I thought the old one was fine.
I believe it is 100% predatory, and the fact about the lack of clarity with the unlock buttons (platinum versus the tokens) is either willful deception or gross negligence on the part of Blizzard.
I got the premium bpass and didn't know there was a deluxe version above that for the wings and owl WTF! Those 2 are not worth 1800 Plat.
Predatory how? It’s certainly needlessly convoluted but I don’t know if it reaches the point of malicious deception. This type of monetization has Tencent written all over it and let’s not forget they’re heavily invested in all of the gaming industry, including Blizzard. Players must simply learn to exercise a greater degree of caution when engaging with these shady in-game shops. The fact that they all use some form of token to represent the price instead of real world currencies should immediately raise a huge red flag.
Bring back the old battle pass. There was nothing wrong with it.
If you’re asking the question, the answer is yes.
Going from 80 items and like 700-800 silver to 34 items and 200 silver is kind of insulting when the price is the same.
I just think the interface is bad, the tokens required to buy things have a pointless cap, it's hard to tell when you are going to earn them. Also the spirit ash was very poorly paced. The last ones aren't even given until completing the final section, and at that point it probably doesn't even matter much to the player.
I'm glad the old battle pass is gone. This system is FAR better in concept, but needs iteration. Hope they can get there.
I've played all Diablo 4 seasons up until this one. This whole battlepass mess made me go ... nah bro' I'm out.
How about NO battlepass on a full priced game? This ain't Fornite or OW2. Predatory BP+predatory microtransactions on a $90 game, Blizzard is worse than EA.
Finally a wowhead post I can agree with. This is utter garbage right. This battle pass made me walk outside and touch grass, D4 is in the trash bin for now.
"Is the new predatory money-making scheme predatory?" WoWHead asks itself."Does the new day begin with morning?" I ask myselfTruly we are all philosophers.Of course it's predatory it's a f-ing battle pass however you rename it. "Season pass" "Vault of wonders" "Box of mysteries" "Pay for the game again to get some low tier cosmetics, but you still have to work for them anyway because we need you to play the game and the game is not fun enough on its own to encourage you to keep playing it thus we add artificial goals to complete, cause if we didnt the game would be empty and that wouldnt look very good". The last one is probably not very marketable, but the point is however it's named it's the exact same %^&* with a different coat of paint. "What color is the turd today?" you might as well be asking. Smfh.
