How Discipline Priest Plays

Discipline Priest combines the light and shadow to balance unique DPS and absorption healing profiles. Make dynamic gameplay choices while balancing your raids need for more damage or more healing, fire Divine Stars that do both, and save the raid from death with some of the strongest raid cooldowns in the game. Discipline is quite different from most other healing specs, and you'll find you have something new to learn or improve on every single pull. You'll also bring one of the strongest raid buffs!

DPS-Focused Healer Gameplay
Disc Priest is defined by its 속죄 gameplay, where a percentage of your damage dealt is converted to healing on the nearby ally who has the lowest health. Most other healing specs need to stop healing if they want to do any damage, but Discipline is a unique spec that can do both at the same time. Carefully manage stacks and convert them to 대천사 when you're in dire straits.

Powerful Absorption Buffs
Discipline brings a range of powerful absorption abilities that prevent the target from taking damage in the first place, instead of healing them up after the fact. This is particularly strong when damage is heavy, since players might otherwise die before healing can reach them. 혼의 너울 converts all of our healing to absorbs for 15 seconds, 신의 권능: 보호막 is a massive single-target absorb on a short cooldown, and 천상의 아이기스 turns all of our Crits into absorbs. It's quite common for a moderate portion of your healing contribution to the raid to come from these.

Damage Reduction Effects
Discipline Priest also brings two of the strongest damage reduction spells. These reduce how much damage their targets take for their duration, and they can be combined with the damage absorbs above to make your friends nearly unkillable while they're active. 고통 억제 is a large damage reduction on a single target, whereas 신의 권능: 방벽 is a smaller reduction but applies to all targets within. On some fights, that'll be your entire raid!

Cast 신의 권능: 보호막 at least every 12 seconds for 환희. Only cast it more often than this if it'll save a life and you don't have more powerful tools like 회개 off cooldown.

Cast 회복의 기원 on cooldown if the raid is taking dangerous damage. It's up to the needs of your raid how quickly you want to cast healing spells instead of relying on 속죄. 회복의 기원 is very efficient though.

If a single target takes a large hit then cast 회개 on them instead of on the enemy. This is more healing overall, but at a damage cost.

Cast 빛의 권능: 평온 on a lightly injured target. Consider carefully whether you'd rather just cast a DPS spell instead.

Prestack . This doesn't take very long (a 신성한 불꽃, 성스러운 일격 and 회개 is sufficient) but will be a large healing increase.

Cast , 마력 주입, 혼의 너울 and 대천사 all together. 마력 주입 will be up for every second 혼의 너울 cast. You can thankfully macro all of these spells together.

Press 치유의 기원 until 혼의 너울 runs out. You can alternate which group you cast 치유의 기원 on.

Single Target Healing Priorities

Cast 신의 권능: 보호막 on a target that is about to take damage, or just took damage if you're worried about them taking more. It isn't the most efficient cast in your arsenal but it's instant and strong enough to save lives. One cast every 12 seconds is also free via 환희.

Cast 회개 on the target if they're moderately to heavily injured. 회개 heals for a lot and also stacks the buff.

Cast 빛의 권능: 평온 on anyone with minor injuries. It's very efficient.

Cooldown Usage for Discipline Priests Healing Cooldowns

신의 권능: 방벽: The strongest damage reduction cooldown in the game, though it does require a semi-stacked group.

혼의 너울: Converts all of your healing into an absorb on the targets hit that lasts 15 seconds. You'll generally cast 치유의 기원 for its duration, but we cover this more in the 혼의 너울 section of the rotation above. You can pre-cast 혼의 너울 to build up an absorb on your group before the damage even hits.

어둠의 마귀 / 환각의 마귀: Summons a type of Fiend that'll damage the enemy and restore mana for their respective durations. Try and use these often, since they're a large source of mana returns.

마력 주입 (talent): A large Haste buff that also reduces mana costs and increases your damage. Can combine it with 혼의 너울 if required or use it by itself as a mini healing cooldown.

Defensive & External Cooldowns

구원의 기도 (talent): Instant self-heal that's not on the global cooldown. Similar to getting an extra health pot every two minutes. Not the best defensive in the world but usable.

고통 억제: A massive external defensive ability on a somewhat long cooldown. Note that it also decreases their threat. It's rare that it matters but it's a side effect you should be aware of.

Symbiosis회오리바람

Balance Druids gain 대규모 무효화.

Feral Druids gain 분산.

Guardian Druids gain .

Resto Druids gain 신의의 도약.

I don't see any mentions of abilities such as Flash Heal, Greater Heal, Prayer of Mending, Renew or Binding Heal.
Is it expected that discipline priests will not be using these abilities in MoP? Or their use is such low priority and/or low effect that is not worth mentioning them and thus not worth having them on a easy to access keybind?

Regarding your Spirit Shell priority list, you suggest that you can macro all four suggested spells together... all with varying GCD's. I'd love to know how you do that?

Love how it's stated there's a Macro for spirit shell priority but doesn't give the macro.
