Now, I am wondering with these if that the Nodes and etc. you see are seen by other players if they also wear the goggles.

most likely cargath, i would assume these goggles "phase" players into being able to see all the additional nodes that you would traditionally be unable to see.

now im curious though, for skinning are you just going to randomly get more furs at times, or will you be able to see a herd of goats fall from the sky with these goggles on?

They're BoE and doesn't seem to require Engineering, so I assume engineers will be able to sell them to other players.

I think these goggles will by its self make engineering a far more popular profession then it has been to this point, even if it's just because it's creating a market that engineers can finally fill. The effect of gathering more mats will probably be more beneficial then 80 extra dps (or whatever it is for MOP) would be for the vast majority of the WoW population. More money (or less time spent farming)=more chances to do bigger/be more effective then 80 dps would give you.

The Mist-Piercing Goggles are more than just a name. Out in the world you will find small patches of mist scattered around, up against trees, along cliff edges etc. If you have these goggles with you, you will be able to see the herb or metal that is shrouded by the mist.

As the tooltip says, you do not need to have these equipped to see through the mist, simply having them in your bag is sufficient.
Once you know what you're looking for, you'll start to see just how many mist patches there are in the world. These will be a significant increase to gathering.

Make sure to get a pair of Forager's Gloves while you're at it.

I'm missing something here. Not BOP, no engineering skill required, doesn't need to be equipped to make use of. So anybody can buy one and all their chars will benefit. So if all gatherers are benefiting, then only the people who are unaware they exist will not be playing on the otherwise newly level playing field. Making these superfluous. Like a compulsory -1 bag slot.

Alright I've been searching for a while now and I've seen several mist nodes, so i can confirm you never have to bind to to any one character it can indeed be passed around.

I've used these quite a bit now but not in a huge variety of locations, so I can't speak generally about how they work. My guess is that there are an extra ~~5-10%~~ 5-7% nodes available to people who have these glasses in their inventory.

In the Briny Muck, for example, about 1 out of every 10-20 nodes I harvest is a "misty" node.

So it's not a huge benefit, but, whatever, it's cool not to miss out.

Just to confirm what other people have said -- these do NOT need to be soulbound to help you harvest "misty" herbs and ore.

Edited to add: If you are herbing or mining without goggles, you will occasionally see little empty cotton-ball like "puffs" of mist. If you have the goggles, there will be a node in that mist.

Adding again: The "misty" nodes aren't separate from the regular nodes. I'm not sure whether there is a subset of all nodes that might spawn "misty," but so far, every "misty" node I've seen has also been spawned as a regular node at other times. So, maybe that observation is useful to someone.

Tooltip is very contradictive. Stating that when equipped you can see additional mining nodes and herbs in pandaria. Just to say the complete oposite in the next sentance.

The resources that the goggles reveal show up with tracking in your mini-map, so you don't have to worry about searching for the mist patches in your character view - just check your mini-map like you normally would.

Although the description says they don't have to be worn to receive the benefit, they're also BoE. Others here have said that they work without having to be soulbound.

So, WHY are they BoE, then?

I'm curious...do these reveal in the mist the same common mats that we'd normally see, or are they rare ores and herbs? 'Cause the continent is just loaded with ghost iron and tea leaves right now. Without the goggles I've been harvesting in areas with three others and none compete for resources, which makes me wonder why a need for the goggles unless they're more likely to reveal rare finds.

lol, why use this item. there are already way too much mines/herbs around pandaria. when farming that withouth the goggles, and I just looted a mine/herb, there are already several other mines/herbs on the minimap. so using this might increase that amount. so usefull item, but It would be much better if it worked in outland/northend/cata area's. since those areas hardly have any mines/herbs compared to vanilla area's and MOP area's

It appears you do need to equip these to get the extra nodes. Rode around and could not find any at all, equipped it and found many mist covered. Maybe this wasn't always the case. Possibly something hotfix?

But to confirm, you can turn on blizz default floating combat text, turn on aura and see for yourself that the aura only applies when you wear it.

Specifically for MoP classic. Seems they don't need to be equipped for the benefit. Found one with them on, took them off, still there. Decided to fly around without them on, still seeing them.
