Wowhead info is wrong as of 9/27/2012
In game it says same tooltip with the following differences;
- It is 2775 to 3225 dmg, not 24-27
- It says 0.50 sec not 0.5

People are questioning the damage on this. It scales with level (at the very least), but unfortunately, Wowhead does not provide the level slider for non-class abilities or spells. Thus, anyone stating values without providing a level and then proclaiming Wowhead is wrong are in fact themselves wrong. It's likely the values shown here are for level 1 despite it requiring level 85 to use.

One other note about this item is that i've found when it is out of charges, it is NOT automatically destroyed, but apparently can not be "refilled" either.

Made one and tested it out as a level 90 prot paladin on the target dummy, and while doing Golden Lotus dailys.

It channels, and did 8 ticks of an average of 5570 damage every 0.5 seconds to everything in a very tight front arc, about 15 degrees, out to about 5 yards.

My assessment: It blows.
The damage is terrible, considering it channels and you can't cast spells or autoattack for the 4 seconds.
The range is terrible, I was barely able to hit two target dummies at the same time, and that was because I lined them up long-ways.

It might be worth it if it had a good size AoE like some of the bombs... But it doesn't. The only thing good about it is the "bazooka" graphics when you activate it. But even that's a little put off because it just looks like it's just spraying purple smoke all over the place.

I tested this out on a 85 dummy while I was 89 and it did over 5k damage a tick and it doesn't share a cool down with the high-powered bolt gun or any other engineering trinkets awesome

This may seem weak, but I found it comes in handy with my Energy resource classes for those short moments when you have no CDs, depleted your energy and there's still a million mobs alive; why not spray some lightning! Or as a bored healer...

I've found this incredibly useful and fun! Some things to note:
- Does not require engineering to use.
- Can use at lvl 85.
- Still works while silenced.
- Not on the "once per combat" timer, unlike G91 Landshark, so you can use this repeatedly while in combat every 30 seconds.

This is great for your cata alts that you haven't leveled up yet! Some quests here and there where there's packs of low health mobs and this gun really wrecks 'em. Also handy for aoe farming at 90, it's fun to dot everything up and finish them off with this, especially with the short 30 second cooldown and the fact that I can use it while my shadow priest is dispersed.

Be sure to search your server's AH for these. The engineers on my server have 'em up for only 3g each - but it'd still be a worthwhile investment even at 30g+.

This item is useful if you are a class such as a DK that might not be able to use their abilities during rune downtime (no runes for abilities). It is even better if you are an Unholy DK looking for some decent AOE.

Scales with Enhancement Shaman's Mastery

With 40,83% bonus dmg to nature,fire,frost my GDGM II does 6200-6700 dmg per tick.

Very useful on some classes with slower/weaker aoe. Belt Frag Grenade every 1m for 45-100k dmg (also scales with mastery for shammy) + GDGM II and you got very good aoe.

This gun is perfect for hunters too use during the Lei Shi encounter on both normal and heroic.
since hunter's only really got explosive trap too use during it (which might be on cd if you play survival) using it with this will allow you to be much more helpfull during the hide phase.

Crafted about 40 of these as a cool holiday present for all my guildies, only to discover that once you wrap them up in the Winterfest wrapping paper and mail them off.. all of the charges disappear. Ughhhh. Everyone was confused why I sent them an item that had no charges and was virtually useless to them.

So a word of warning, if you're looking to make these as a neat holiday gift for your guildmates, don't wrap them up and mail it off!

The Dragon Gun doesn't seem very good until you pull it out on a big crowd of enemies. I've used it to great effect on the big crowds of swarming insects in the front hall of the Heart of Fear. Since the lightning effect does not cap out and it does more damage than the tooltip would suggest, I was hitting 20 targets for 6000 damage each over the four seconds' duration. If you pop a passive AoE effect first (Blood and Thunder, Explosive Trap, Serpent Spread, Rain of Fire, etc.), it's an excellent supplemental effect.

This is one of the VERY FEW items that can be used in arena. Pretty much everything except drinks are forbidden since around TBC. Can be useful if you're rooted and want to keep DPSing I guess, even if it's not much it's something.

Guess people can exploit this to kill lowbies in towns like Gadgetzan without alerting the guards. Was killed continuously by a rogue with this while the guards just watched me die.

As of patch 5.3, you are able to use this gun to kill lowbies in neutral cities such as Gadgetzan without alerting the guards.

It's ^&*!ing hilarious using this on a lowbie and making him wondering "WHY AREN'T THE GUARDS ATTACKING HIM?"

The materials on my server add up to over 250Gold per gun and each gun has 50 shots. Not cheap but if you are an engineer and miner, you can get the mats for this gun quickly since it only takes Ghost Iron Ore to create it.
