As a guy who frequently solo's old dungeons, this trinkets ability is rather nice. Though admittedly it will require intensive Testing on Live.

This is a pretty good trinket.

He has low proc, but in raid with all buffs the whirlwind damage goes up. :)

I believe that the damage of the effect is changed by the amount of attack power the user has, I noticed this while I was in a raid and my buffs where changing rapidly so was the damage.

I also noticed that when I was prot spec and using this same trinket, the damage was going higher and higher and I believe it was changing due to vengeance stacks.

Unless I am wrong, I believe that your attack power is the factor on the damage of the trinket (Including strength and agility respective to the class)

yes the trinket scales with AP, for me it says 22 - 26k and ive had it crit for about 60k sometimes, it is completely insane in AoE :)

Got this on my fury warrior on an early morning Morchok in Raid Finder.

I equipped the trink and was immediately impressed when I saw in recount it dealt an astonishing 101k crit to Zon'ozz, with normal damage hits around 30k and crits at 60k. After downing Hagara I again looked at recount, but this time the trinket crit for 150k damage on Hagara during one of the burn phases.

If the Raid Finder version of this trinket is so powerful in the gear I have, I'm a little scared by how powerful it must scale to with the Heroic version and Heroic gear.

As a part of the on-going evaluation of Looking For Raid and the loot system, we have recently implemented a change to the Looking For Raid Need Plus system. Weapons, trinkets, rings, neck pieces, shields, offhand items, and the Robe of Glowing Stone are now class-restricted to their intended users. With the speed at which a Raid Finder group moves through a zone, we’ve found that it makes it challenging for players to evaluate loot decisions – by class restricting these items, we hope that the natural behavior will have a more positive set of results for everyone involved. This change will not apply to normal or heroic raid or dungeon loot rules.

Yes this could be a good trinket but I cant seem to get it to proc Im a deathknight.If any other Dk's have won it and got it to proc let us know.

When it procs it's called "Whirling Maw"!

Tested on dummy and it seems to proc randomly not only with use-abilities.
For now it adds up to about 3.3% total damage in a DS raid, which isn't bad (Arms warrior). Currently highest crit is around 108k.

If you are playing pvp then be way, this trinket seem to be breaking cc. If you rely on effects that are interupted on damage then use this trinket with caution.

From a warriors point of view this trinket add a nice burst to the target. With little uptime it will proc nearly everytime you have the chance to sit on the target and it does increase with AP. With colossal smash up it can hit for a fair amount of damage.

In general it seems to proc just long enough into the fight to be of use good use, after hamstring and rend is up and the damage dealing starts. It is definatly worth getting if you are into pvp and need a pve trinket for more burst. It has made a big difference in the pressure I can put on people.

Since this is scaling with ap how long do you think we will be able to use it into next xpac? The scaling with ap gives it a longer life.

I'm playing an Unholy DK and just won the trinket. Used it on the second part of the DW-raid (25 man finder) and recount shows me 65 procs, 58 of them are hits, 7 are crits. Dmg goes from 15.4k to 49.3k. I got 15866 Atkpower and my itemlvl is around 382 atm. I'm not sure how the trinket works on DKs, but I guess it only has a small chance to proc on manual hits, not casts, cause 65 procs total in all bossfights of the second raidpart is not really often in my opinion. Please share your experiences with me / us.

I just won this trinket today and am doing some preliminary testing. In the course of a single Bladestorm on a set of 3 target dummies it procced 4 times at 12.8k-15.5k dmg a hit. That is 18 melee attacks it procced 4 times. So in my Very Preliminary testing it has a ~22% proc rate at a nice amount of damage.

Anyone know the drop rates on this? I've done LFR quite a few times and I have never seen it drop. I would love it because it is a great BiS for me and my DK.
