Based on initial testing on the training dummies and old world raids, this does affect the initial application hit of lacerate as well as the periodic damage.

The lacerates will "pop" every time you hit Pulverize, but it's a solid choice for bear tanks in 4.0.1. The only other two prime bear glyphs are Mangle and Berserk, of which both also fit in very nicely for cat off-dps. It seems this is the only dedicated "prime" bear glyph.

As of now, there are no more dedicated bear glyphs slated to be released in Cataclysm.

A useful tanking glyph. While it has very little impact on our threat generation, it is the only Prime glyph that has an effect on our survivability.

procs from our critical strikes. It can proc from the initial hit of Lacerate. It does not proc from Lacerate ticks, but that is irrelevant. Due to this glyph, it is good to spam Lacerate when you need more survivability and are not concerned with threat (The underlined part is important because Lacerate spamming results in horrible TPS), because Lacerate becomes our only ability with an increased innate chance to critically hit.

Keep in mind that the power of the glyph scales up as you get more Crit, Hit and Expertise.

In Mists of Pandaria this glyph has changed.

OLD: Glyph of Lacerate
Increases the critical strike chance of your Lacerate ability by 5%.

NEW: Glyph of Fae Silence
Faerie Fire used in Bear Form also silences the target for 3 sec, but triggers a 15 sec cooldown.

Finally, Guardian Druid tanks get a ranged silence for pulling casters... Although, my big bear butt will probably still LOS because there are other glyphs I'd rather have.

Actually it's probably one of the strongest at least for heroics maybe some raid fights that involve interupts too. The cons of Frenzied regen and Might of Ursoc glyphs are too high imo. Survival instincts most of the time is a good thing. Maul, Rebirth, and the 30 yard stampede roar are also good choices for bear.

Glyph of Fae Silence;

1) Do i have to interrupt a spell mid-cast to silence a caster npc, or will using Faerie Fire on a caster preemptively (i.e. before combat, as a way to pull the target) silence it for a couple seconds, and thus compel the npc to run toward me?

2) Will glyphed Faerie Fire still interrupt targets otherwise immune to Faerie Fire's damaging or debuff effects; like Queen Azshara in Well of Eternity?

3) Can the silence effect of Glyph of Fae silence miss? or is it guaranteed not to miss like other interrupts? (or is that no longer a part of the game?)

Very handy for the healer proving grounds. A quick silence on a Hivesinger can prevent a lot of damage. Coupled with Mighty Bash and a little help from your NPC friends, and you can often lock them down completely until they die. Highly recommended if you want do any serious Endless healing.

A great Glyph for fights that require an extra interrupt ability, unlike our skull bash you can cast this at a maximum of 35 yds from the target, I like to use this glyph when tanking Galakras and Nazgrim to help interrupt those shamans.
