Did some brief testing with this on the PTR. Couldn't tell a proc rate for certain, but it was quite high. Procced on most of my lacerates, and standing between two dummies and hitting swipe caused it to proc literally every time I used the ability. In retrospect I should have checked to see if this changed when I only hit one dummy with Swipe, but maybe I'll update with this information later. The agility proc does not work with bear Mangle, but the dodge rating one will see nearly 100% uptime unless you're spamming Mangle during Berserk, at which point you can probably refresh the effect every 8 seconds with a single Swipe anyway.

Proc rate for the cat proc seemed lower, though again I couldn't tell anything specific. Mangle seemed to have a higher chance of proccing than Shred did, but it was still giving near-100% uptime going through a normal "rotation." Neither the cat proc nor the bear proc appeared to have an internal cooldown. This is, quite simply, an excellent idol, and benefiting both bear and cat so strongly is amazing.

Emblem cost hasn't been revealed yet, to the best of my knowledge, the Emblem of Triumph vendor on the PTR sells his stuff for cash. This costs a little under 35g, but I couldn't get a vendor price for other idols to compare and extrapolate an emblem cost for that. Let's hope it's reasonably cheap, it's about time I replace my old Terror one.

Edit: Did a bit more testing. Of 19 Swipes, 3 did not proc against a single target. When I positioned myself to hit two dummies, this rate didn't seem to change at all, so it seems it's based on uses of the ability, rather than each time the ability connects. Swipes that failed to connect did not proc it. Further testing in cat revealed a near-100% proc rate on Mangle, and what seemed to be lower than that on Shred. It's possible this is just random variance, due to my rather small sample size, but I'm fairly sure Shred does indeed have a lower chance to proc, though not by much. Regardless, you'll see virtually 100% uptime on the buff.

Just tested this on the PTR, the proc rate is amazing, I could easily get a 100% uptime as cat, was running out of rage too much on dummies so couldn't reliably test that

If they don't nerf the proc rate, this will give a cat ~3% crit and 200 AP and a bear about 3% dodge virtually at all times.

Hoping they fix the description on this before it goes live. It's use of "While in Bear form" and no following "While in cat form" got me thinking for a minute that this was a bear-only trinket. Had to re-read it one or two times before it clicked that bears don't get Shred.

In it's current form I'm still a little confused, does Mangle (Bear) have a chance to proc the 200 agility? PTR is being fickle with me at the moment so I can't test.

Well, it SUCKS! 153 agi (Idol of corrupter) is much much much better, cos gives more dodge +crit and armor. Change "doge rating" to "agility" and we're cool.

Even if I suck at formulas and it gives less dodge, some good crit chance and armor are good.

what im more concerned about how good this idol for DPS compare to our other 2 idols, dont forget agility scales with talents/kings so in raid this will give us 238 Agility properly speced + kings
according to WoWwiki 83 agility is 1% crit this this will give us just shy of 3% or so, constant 238 AP, meaning it will increase dmg of everything we use, and other 2 idols only increase a specific ability (shred or rip)

i cant log on PTR due to STUPID battle.net merging account !@#$, so i cannot test it, if anyone can say something about it, would be nice.

Comparing this to the one from Vezax:

Pros:
The way to acquire it is finally done right.
more avoidance for Bears
better for Cats (both how to proc it and the proc it self)

Cons:
For bears you loose a bit threat and mitigation(armor)
Joining that 25man guild just to get this idol wasn't worth it in the end (that applies only to me I guess ^^)

This item is currently available to buy for 25 emblems of triumph in Dalaran. Also the Idol of the corruptor can be bought for 19 emblems of conquest, and as such is much easier to obtain.

For cat dps this is probably best in slot atm. But for tanking i'm not so sure yet. Idol of the Corruptor gives 153 agi, combined with kings/imp mow/sotf buff that's actualy 180 agi and thus gives 3,7% dodge and increased armor and crit for treat/savage defense.

Let's do a feral tanking comparison, shall we?

As demonstrated by ADneo above, procs that give straight stats as opposed to ratings will scale with +% buffs, such as Imp. MotW, Kings and even a druids own Survival of the Fittest talent.

Let's compare the Vezax Corruptor idol (now cheapened by the fact that any dummy in blues running heroics can get it) to the new Mutilation idol.

Idol of the Corruptor
Your Mangle ability has a chance to grant 153 agility for 12 sec. (According to Wowhead this is a 100% proc chance so we'll assume 100% uptime)

Idol of Mutilation
While in Bear Form, your Lacerate and Swipe abilities have a chance to grant 200 dodge rating for 9 sec. (Wowhead states 70% proc chance, so we'll also assume 100% uptime to compare this in the "best case scenario.")

Using ADneo's numbers above, with full raid buffs we'll assume Agility will be increased by 18% whereas dodge rating will never be increased by buffs.

153 x 1.18 = 180.53 which we'll round down to 180.

Idol of the Corruptor = 180 Agility
Idol of Mutilation = 200 Dodge Rating

Bears gain 1% dodge for every 47.87 Agility
200 Dodge rating is 4.71% dodge

180 / 47.87 = 3.7601838312095257990390641320242 (which I'll round to 3.76)

Idol of the Corruptor = 3.76% Dodge
Idol of Mutilation = 4.71% Dodge

By dodge alone the Mutilation Idol is clearly the winner, however with the Corruptor Idol you also have to take into account the other things that Agility does for us bears.

180 Agility = 360 Armor
180 Agility = 2.16% Crit (and more crit = more Savage Defense Procs for more mitigation)

So the bottom line here is this:

Idol of the Corruptor = 3.76% dodge, +360 armor, 2.16% crit
idol of Mutilarion = 4.71% dodge

Which one is better than the other? I'll leave that for you to make as an individual choice. For me, less than 1% dodge isn't worth giving up the additional benefits that Idol of the Corruptor gives me.

Edit: For the record, all dodge %'s are BEFORE diminishing returns.

Got this idol earlier today,
here r the stats after testing, mangle/swipe spam with berserker up.
for cat: its 239 agility raid buffed, properly specced/kings, cooldown is 9 sec, (refreshes at 7sec remaining) so buff will refresh before it expires resulting in 100% uptime
for bear: cd was roughly 7 sec out of 9sec, (it refreshed when i had 2 sec left)so uptime should be 100% as well, testing in ORG just spamming swipe on 3 dummies.

Question: does removing an idol remove the buff it was giving(i recall it doesnt but could be wrong because it was at 70 when i tested it)

if possible, something i will work on:

use BOTH idols,

have mangle one on, and swap it off after it procs

leave the swipe/lacerate idol on untill you mangle one more time, and put it back on before you mangle 9 seconds later.

this would be very intensive and likely not worthwhile but ill test out to see if wasting the gcd's swapping could be worth it when i get the emblems

ICD for the cat proc on Live is ~10 seconds. Haven't thoroughly tested the bear side, but it seems to be 10 seconds as well. You can easily see the refresh on the cat idol at any time 5 seconds and below, and you cannot seem to keep the bear up 100% of the time, but can reapply right after it falls, so the ICD is likely 10 seconds for both procs. (On PTR the bear ICD seemed to allow overlap, but I haven't recorded any yet on Live, although that might just be a sample size problem).

Just to recap:

1. Both procs are easily maintainable to have 100% uptime as the proc is quite high and there is no internal cd on it.
2. It is bought with Emblems of Triumph which drop in the new ToC raid, BUT also are a reward from the daily heroic (2x). So if you don't raid, but ocassionally do daily heroic you can still get this idol :)

Personal opinion: Best druid idol yet, if you don't have it, go get it.

Losing armor isn't the only way you lose mitigation. You lose crit, so that means you'll lose iLotP procs and SD uptime.

You're trading about 0.27% mitigation for 0.6% dodge (pre-diminishing returns, so that'll be 0.25-0.35% post-DR). That makes it a fair trade, but when you consider the crit I would definitely stick with Idol of the Corruptor.

Idol of Mutilation gives flat dodge, whilst Idol of the Corruptor gives agility, as said previously, corruptor wins in a fully raid buffed situation due to the widespread use of agility when compared to straight up dodge, and it's ability to benefit from buffs.

Mutilation however can be kept up 100% of the time, easily enough. Corruptor can only be kept up on an ability with a CD, and the icd prevents some procs, and if you're not capped you *can* miss it and have to wait for next cd, leaving a relatively small but non-the-less existent downtime. Just saying it's all well and good having a ever so slightly better proc, but when you're waiting another 4.5 secs to bring it back up, and having to monitor that buff, is it worth it?

Mutilation is a bit more carefree =)
imo blizz should have taken into account the fact this wouldn't benefit from raid buffs, because it screws over what should be a far better item.

For tanking I can't help to feel like this is a bit underpowered. You loose ~2% crit but gain ~0,5% doge compared to Idol of the Corruptor but with a bit higher uptime. Sure most of the time as a druid tank all you do is swipe so it will easier to keep this proc up but then again in those situations you don't really "need" more avoidance just more threat. Would love if this Idol gave agi in bear form instead of dodge.

Have been testing the damage of my Rip on a lvl 60 training dummy, and the 200 agility proc from this idol does not increase the damage at all. What's up with this?
