These appear to be the new version of the epic Ebon Netherscale that is craftable via the Dragonscale specialization for level 70 toons.

This time around we only get 2 pieces (Legs, Bracers) instead of 3 (Chest, Bracers, Belt). Also, we swap armor penetration for of all of that lovely hit/crit that was on the Ebon Netherscale set. =(

BUT...these are bind on equip, so you can expect to make some money off these if you are willing to put in the time and effort to procure the mats.

For a BM hunter, the much cheaper Eaglebane Bracers are just as good if not better.
If armor penetration rating was replaced by another stat, like hit or crit, these would be much better.

Ok, just to clear something up, in WOTLK for a BM hunter Arpen is the best stat per item point to stack. Yes, it is better than agility, better than haste, better than crit...you get the idea. Once you are hitcapped arpen will boost DPS more than anything else.
The other hunters in my guild (8, and we have cleared Naxx) can't fathom why with generally better gear they can't match my DPS. But every time I mention Arpen they say 'ewww yuk'. So I keep stacking, and they keep on with lower DPS.
They (and many other hunters) are still playing like this is BC. It isn't. The way Arpen is calculated is different now, and since raid bosses have more armour than before Arpen is even better. I don't want to insult anybody out there, but trust me, try it. Arpen is a great stat, even if you don't pack a ton. As such, these bracers blow the CRAP out of Eaglebane (which are really good at 78) if you can get capped without them, and with 3/3 focussed aim that isn't too hard.

I've made about 4k on these so far.
Because the are B.O.E. you can buy the mats, have them made then inflate the price! On my server and probably fairly close for otehr servers the price breakdown is this:
frozen orb: 50g
heavy borean leather x10: 100g (10g each)
eternal air x5: 250g
eternal water x5: 50g

for a total of 450g spent... approx (I farm my own eternal air and buy the water because they are dirt cheap) so I usually spend about 300g and make one a day so depending on your manipulation skills/availability on the server you can make about 700g in about an hour (total approximations there).

I usually have on of these on the auction house at about 1200g so that I can choose the price for myself (people are quite easily manipulated). If any go on the AH for cheaper I buy them out so that I have complete control over the price of the item. I have sold them from 1200 down to 800, its pure profit mates!

Now that I have a much larger money bas I will be expanding my Inflation buisness as well as getting some farmers/etc.

Does anyone know of any other craftables / etc i could grab up then inflate? I saw a will of edward the odd for 1200g and i had to snatch that up because last weekend it was going for 4.5k!

These and the matching legs are going for about 550g each on my server. Does that seem like a pretty good price?

Penetration can be a beautiful thing (totally a double entendre)...

But it's hardly something you should take over more generic, old stats like agi/ap and crit, considering how the most popular raiding spec at the moment (Survival, I believe =P) tend to get about 40% or more of it's damage from Explosive Shot, which deals Fire Damage and thus not affected by armor penetration.

However, obviously, Armor Penetration still works for Steady Shot and other things.
